This is back yard deck I did some repairs on.

This was my first day repairing Dans deck. Had to custom this one board. The reason is the boards that are on this old deck are 8" really (7") The boards I bought at Home Depot are only 6" (5 3/4") 

So the spaces are not the same. 

If you look at the first picture you can see I had to space them out a little more than the old boards. 

The blog before this one, Dan (owner) we went shopping and bought pretty much everything we need to replace the deck boards. So today really are the railings. (on the left side) Then I cut and fitted the 4x4 for supports. Then used 2x2 support the new railing. Then the railing on top. 

This is where I started and it went very well, I think I got this done on the first day. 

Now this was very much a challenge. The 4x4 were all cut at the same time. But this side was too tall. We (Dan was holding them up for me) Put them up and I looked and found out we were too tall, by 2" So we took them back down and repositioned the 4x4 to the heigh needed. Now they are all the same height. But now I put the 2x2 supports. But now to put the railing on. the angles were not 45 degrees. They were all custom cuts, and it did look good afterwards. 

Okay the railing took me two days to get them look great. This is May 23rd. I will be coming back on the 26th to redo the steps. Memorial Weekend. 

You can see in a couple of the pictures how bad the steps are. So, I just pulled them out and bought new side pieces to hold the steps in place. 

I am using the old boards; they are still in pretty good shape. I didn't take the aluminum railing off the boards. This way they will be in the same spot and should line up. 

Dan came out and I just finished the steps up. he was very happy to see them and even tried them out. 

Folks doing jobs like this, just make me feel good and I know the customer is happy too. That just makes my day. Plus, I get a few bucks too. 

Well today I am in 2 Chronicles chapter 1 and 2. These are talking about Solomon is king and during these few verses, Solomon is asking God for WISDOM.  Which folks I pretty much every day ask Him to help me and show me what he would like for me to do. 

I understand these chapters have been pretty shared before in 1 Kings 3:1. 

The real neat thing about reading the Bible, God is always reminding me things to just encourage me and help me understand more about His Word and why He gave us the Bible. 

So, my prayers are just start reading and just let Him help you thru another day. 

He loves you very much and wants you to share his Love with others each and every day. 

 

We had a few more days out in the boat. Thank you, Lord.

Okay another day out in the boat. Wow, we are so blessed to be able to just enjoy the weather and the day on the ocean. This is the new place we are now using to launch her boat. It does cost, but no crowds and there is no one swearing and just not anyone here to make our day, no nice. 

Very peacefully and really enjoyable too. 

This is the landmark to start looking for the small channel. This is where we came out of. 

Heading for the outlet. 

This is leaving near the Jetty. Heading out into the ocean and ready to catch some fish. 

Well, we tried a few spots and nothing. So now Jeanne said let's go towards and Power Plant. 

Hey, not a good day to fish. I think we caught w couple small ones. But nothing to keep. 

I think we are heading in near the Jetty and went swimming again, near the Cove. 

Like I said, I think we went swimming. Now it's time to head back into and load the boat up. Then head home and wash it down again. Folks, I love going out and just riding around and swimming and just hanging out with my wife, BUT, now I will spend 1 to 2 hours cleaning the boat. 

I guess this boat has been ABANDON. there has to be something on this boat that can be used. 

It's kind of crazy to just leave this sit in the water. But maybe someone is watching out for it. 

We got back home and cleaned it up. 

Okay now I think this will be pour last time out, until after June 3rd. That is the last day of school and then we will be able to go out maybe many times. 

This day Chris it with us and we will just ride around and go towards the Cave and go swimming again. 

Jeanne let Chris wear this (ski mask) to protect his face and neck. the last time we went out he really got more sun than he wanted. 

Not sure what the black spot is??? It looks cute, doesn't it? 

That was the plan, we rode out and went swimming near the Cove and just enjoyed the beautiful water and the day was so relaxing. Now the weekend is upon us, and it is Memorial Weekend. I know this is only the, this day is the 20th of May. 

Well folks I have been busy doing side jobs. Next one is rebuilding a deck for Dan, he lives in Spanish Lakes Country Club. That is the same area I lived before I married Jeanne. So, every once and while I get a call to come out and look and see if I can do the job. Most of the time, I say yes, and it happens.

I got to his house and talked about going to Home Depot and buying the supplies I need to do the repairs. So, after figuring out what he wanted, I took out the old boards and we drove to Home Depot and he bought the supplies.  

After dropping off the old boards at the landfill. We stopped at Home Depot and loaded everything up and drove back to dan's house and unloaded everything. 

I put up a few sister boards up to support the new lumber. 

Did this on the 21st of May. Looking pretty good. Now prayerfully everything fits and looks good. 

Oh, that right I already know what happens. But I will not sure yet, until it is done.

He is right alongside of you, JUST ASK. 

  

 

On May 18th we all went out in the boat. It has been a while now since our last trip out.

Okay this is the new bridge they are building here in Fort Pierce. The reason is the old bridge is very old and there is a lot of work. So, they are building the new bridge taller so the draw bridge will be knocked down. 

My little girl is the first one to jump in. We are near the place called the Cove. Today is Saturday so the Cove is pretty full of boats and people. So, we thru and anchor and just jumped and relaxed for about two hours.   

That is, I and Chris (Jeanne's cousin). Just enjoying the coolest of the inter coastal waters. 

You can see the Coastguard and even the Sheriff's department is out checking on different things. 

Hey, the following weekend is Memorial Weekend. Which is today, Memeorial Day. 

We tried to catch some fishes. But it was not what happen. But I can tell you this, it was a beautiful day and very relaxing. 

We are heading back to the loading dock. Jeanne found a new place to launch the boat. It does cost $5.00. But no crowds, the water is nice and calm. Plus, the owners are very friendly and helpful too. 

This is the boat launch we are using now. The area is called Village Marina. It a narrow channel and very shallow water. But no waves or even the current is none. My little girl had no trouble at all pulling the boat in and docking her boat. Plus, like I said no water movement. So, pulling the boat out the water was a piece of cake. A straight shot. 

This is looking out to the Inter Costal. Jeanne just loves this place. The nice thing is no crowds to rush you. Saying bad words. 

My little girl is enjoying this place, and we will be back tomorrow 19th and 20th. 

Well like ai said today is Memorial Day and our day is pretty much cleaning up the back yard and planting her orchids. I think we are cooking on the grill and just enjoying staying home today. 

Today I finished up the Book of 2 Kings. Folks this is a new road God as let happen because the people of Israel just kept on sinning and worshiping idols. So, the next Book is 1 Chronicles. These chapters are the Genealogy of Israel. (Family Tree). 

To all of my family and friends, today is a day to celebrate the lives of people gave up their lives to KEEP OUR NATION FREE. 

Please thank the people you have around you now and tell them how much you love them and keep them in your prayers. 

Our time on this earth is winding down and we all need to share our faith and tell our families and friends plus the world about JESUS CHRIST.
