It was neat to be able to spend some time in God's Word with a bunch of men. Before things started, we all had a chance to get some breakfast.
They had some tables setup and had all kinds of foods. Fruit, apple turn overs, yogurt and I know there other food, but I was a good boy, had yogurt and fruit.
This is the area we all sat to eat together. I sat with a few guys I got to meet, Grath, Sid and Josh. They all came in from Calvary Chapel Bradenton, Florida. It's about a two-hour ride. (West coast).
There was a little time to just hang out. I sat down and Thomas sat with me; he is from this area. He is accountant. This is Chris, he sat with us too.
This was the opening. Pastor Andrew kicked this conference off. he was the one the run down the schedule and just keep us informed. I have not seen him before, I think he work here. Then the praise and worship started and man it was wonderful to hear all men singing and raising their hands and praising God.
Then our first teacher came out and gave us a little history of his life. He flew in from Calvary Chapel Aurora, Colorado. He is the Senior Pastor there. Not sure when he shared about his e mail. But he told us a fact about his e mail address, At the end of his address, he told us,.ORG not .COM. The reason was, .COM is a guy named Ed Tayor but during COVID has started a web page that he is Santa Claus. Ed explained that he contacted the guy and wanted to but his web page. But the guy came back and told him it would cost 7 figures. That kind of set Ed back a little. How can you expect 7 figures??? He wrote back and told him God Bless.
He taught on 1 Timothy 4:7-8. Plus, he had God wants us to do great thing, He wants us to be Godly in Him. Move forward, get your stretch from Him. Joshus 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. Then Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in you will complete is until the day Jesus Christ.
As he was winding down, he talked about what are your gifts? he told us, about how he has tried to fix things around the house and most of the time, he makes it worst. His wife has that gift of fixing things. So, he told us that his job is make his wife happy. He hates vacuuming. But he does it because he loves here and wants to serve her. That kind of funny, Jeanne (my wife) she just loves coming home and seeing I have vacuumed. So, I guess I am here for her.
We had a short break and then our next speaker came out.
Pastor Stephen Cummins is from Calvary Chapel Crystal River. It on the west coast of Florida. He taught on 1 Corinthians 9:24 to 27. Striving for the Crown. This is talking about our race in life. Are we striving to finish the race strong. To win the crown? Then he spoke on 1Sanuel 17 this chapter is talking about David and Goliath. How David juts knew that the Lord was with him, and he could slay Goliath. Hey David took the sheep out of a lion's mouth, and he killed a bear too. He was confident and just trusted the Lord. Then he went to Palms 144:1 Blessed be the Lord my rock, Who TRAINS my hands for war and finger for battle. Need to finish the race strong and try to win every time.
It's time for lunch.
We all ate well, ribs, beans, mac and cheese and ice cream afterwards. Which was a gift from the family of
I am not sure who this gentleman is, but I guess he was part of this fellowship at Calvary Chapel Vero Beach. He passed a little while back and the family was very happy to take care of the BBQ and Ice Cream Lunch. Thank you very much, it was great, and the ice cream really hit the spot.
Afterwards that had games set up for us to play. Frist one was how fast can pitch a baseball? I watched a young boy pitch and he really had the aim and speed too. Then a few older guys tried, and they pretty tried, but missed the glove, hey they tried ad least.
Then how good of a chipper are you? hey his guy did really good.
Then all the way in the parking lot, Axe throwing. When I walked up to watch, one guy had it down. Hit the bull's eye three times. But afterwards, the next couple of guys could not even get the axe to stick in the board.
It was very hot day, I went and sat down and just enjoyed some conversation with a couple of guys sitting on the lounge chairs.
Its time for our third speaker. Oh, every time before each speaker came up there was praise and worship. Which was very rewarding. It just gets you into the right frame of mind. Seeking God.
I don't know why this picture is so bad. But this is Jeremy Morris. He is from Calvary Chapel Orlando. He pretty talked on God' s strength. Fellowshipping and Accountable.
Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron. That is what fellowship in about, making us learn together and enjoy praising our Lord as a unit. God; word is a lamp to our feet. Then he talked about Gen 2:8 The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. Then put him there to work.
1 Corinthians 12:12 to 31 Unity and Diversity in One Body. God made us to work together. Look at our parts of our body, not one is more important than the other. All needs to work together.
Then we praised and worshipped after a small break. Then Pastor Ed came back out to close us out.
1) New Creation 2 Corn 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION: old things have passed away: behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
