The year WAS 1955. I thought this would make you all think. Plus stop talking about the hurricane too, for today.

THE YEAR WAS 1955... Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter?           If they raise the minimum wage   to $1.00, Nobody will be able to     hire outside help at the store.               When I first started driving, who   would have thought Gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon?  Guess we'd be better off leaving     the car in the garage.               Did you see where some baseball   player just signed a contract for     $50,000 a year just to play ball?  It wouldn't surprise me if someday  they'll be making more than the President.               I never thought I'd see the day   all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They're even making electric typewriters now.       It's too bad things are so tough   nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to   work to make ends meet.       It won't be long before young     couples are going to have to hire    someone to watch their kids so they can both work.                                                                                                        I'm afraid the Volkswagen car     is going to open the door to a   whole lot of foreign business.       Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the government    takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are    electing the best people to    government.        The fast food restaurant is     convenient for a quick meal,       but I seriously doubt they   will ever catch on.       There is no sense going on short trips any more for a weekend. It   costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay   in a hotel.       No one can afford to be sick anymore. At $15.00 a day in   the hospital, it's too rich for    my blood.               If they think I'll pay 30 cents  for a haircut, forget it.        Know any friends     who would get a     kick out of these,       pass this on!     Be     sure and send it to your kids and grandkids, too!    The year was 1955

I got a call from a Pastor on Tuesday.

His call was about a young lady in the park here (Spanish Lakes)  that is having problems with leaks in her living area. 

I climbed up and took a look. In a area of 10 x 12 feet, the medal is all ripped up off. I finished pulling the loose pieces off. Then I rode over to Home Depot and got the supplies I need to just patch it for now. The reason is I called my supplier (Vero Mobile Supplies) and asked if they had the medal panels to go right over the old roof. He told me that they were out of them at this time. A order would be shipped next week. 

So I went to Home Depot thinking maybe something else I can use. They had medal roofing, but they are all out until next week. I called and order at the Vero Mobile Supplier. Hopefully they will get them in next week. This way i know it is done correctly. 

So I bought a large tarp, some fir strips, screws and calk,.

At first the wind was not helping me at all. I kept pushing forward. Like I told you yesterday I was getting tired and over whelmed. But as I screwed it down on side down and then just kept asking the Lord for help. 

Prayerfully this will hold up until I can get the medal for the roof to do it correctly. 

Folks this is the test. I have put tarps on three roofs. Repaired two others with new singles. 

Lord please protect this work I have tried to for Your glory.

Every Storm Is a School, Every Trial a Teacher

“This small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble” (2 Corinthians 4:17 GNT).

When we go through difficulties in life, the first thing we often try to do is blame somebody else. But it doesn’t matter where your problem came from — God still has a purpose for it in your life. Even when you do stupid things, God can use it. Even when other people hurt you intentionally, he can use it. Even when the Devil plans bad things for your life, God can bring good out of it.

God’s purpose is greater than your problems and your pain. He has a plan! You need to look past the temporary pain and look instead at the long-term benefit in your life.

Romans 5:3-4 says, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that . . . they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady” (TLB).

What’s the purpose of your problems and difficulty? God wants you to learn something. Every storm is a school. Every trial is a teacher. Every experience is an education. Every difficulty is for your development.

Most of us are slow learners. If you don’t learn something, God will bring it up again in your life. It will come back, because God is more interested in your character than he is in your comfort. He is more interested in seeing you become more like Christ than he is in making things easy for you.

Maybe you are facing a major difficulty right now. It may be an illness or guilt or a financial problem or strain in a relationship. Does God have a word for you while you’re going through your difficulty? Absolutely. God is saying to you, “Don’t give up. Grow up.” Fulfill the purpose of your difficulty — becoming more and more the person he created you to be.

I am getting caught up, this is Tuesday work projects.

Just going thur my calls and doing what I can. This is Grace's home. There is this header hanging on. So I took the rest off. I could not find the other pieces. I hope she is okay by this? She has not come back home yet. 

This is Betsy's home. She asked me to just take it all off. The reason is, during Hurricane Matthew I repaired this. I put many screws to hold it in place. But the wood behind the brackets is rotted away. 

She happy, I am happy. 

I sorry, I am not sure who's roof this is. But there is some damage. More I go up on roofs and look. I am thinking. I am not a roofer. Maybe they should call some that does this for a living? 

I just remember who's roof. This is the house across the street form Betsy's. I went up and looked and he left before I could talk with him. So today I will stop by and tell him it looks good to me. 

I know this is Margo's roof. I can see the repair I did last year. I gave her a price to replace some singles and capping. But like I said. Maybe not for me to do? 

This is Leila's home. She has two problems. The roof along her the end on both sides. 

Then she asked me to look at something else. Thinking okay what else? 

So I drove over to Vero Supply and bought some siding. I took down all of it from the top down. It really was easier than I thought it would be. 

Well now I need to go to Home Depot and buy some paint to match. no problem at all. 

I caulked it in and I think the match is prefect. Plus it even looks pretty good too. Now I am not bragging. It was by His strength, NOT MINE. 

I am not sure who's roof this on is. But today I going around talking with folks I have written down on my list. Pretty much telling them I am not a roofer and I think they need to get one to do it correct. 

This is Joe's roof. It really needs to be replaced. I told him that there is one area I need to put a tarp on. This is the only area that the tar paper is showing. 

So I took out one of my Harbor Freight (free) tarps and got it somewhat secure. 

 Folks more and more I do repairs, I am getting tired. It is getting some what overwhelmed.  

Plus I have been having many sleepless nights. The reason is not the repairs, but my sides of my back are still hurting. I got a MRI done yesterday and I am kinda worried what is going on. So for now 

I will be trying to take it easy. Prayerfully this is just something the doc can repair with a pill.

Praise HIM all day long and do get overwhelmed. 

HE IS IN CONTROL AND IT IS HIS STRENGTH.

Just looking back at a picture I took.

I wrote about this little guy a while back, right after the hurricane. You can just barely see his head. 

I did know this at the time, but there are three of them. It look like they made it. 

This is Saturday afternoon, I was getting bored. So I cut my grass. It was high. 

At the end it looks pretty good. 

It is rewarding in doing a good job and walk away and say, it looks good. 

Praise our Lord for all He is doing in this park and around the area. 

I had two nice work projects on Monday.

I wrote about this last week. This is Marie's home. You can see the water damage and what is needed to be do. I thought for now just to get it looking good, I cleaned out some of the rotten wood and put a 1" X 4" board in and get the siding back on. 

This is her shed in back of her home. I saved as much siding as I could. 

I am finding out when you do siding you need to start from the bottom and work your way up. So I took off all of the siding and started all over again. 

If you look back about three or four months ago. Roy and I did some other repairs and had paint made up to match. It really is surprising how nice the paint matches and how it make the shed look like a new one. 

This pretty much took me all day and I was a so happy it all worked out.
