Well, we were here about three months ago. So, Jeanne wanted to see what else they might have this time. As we walked around, my little girl found a couple of orchids she wanted and brought them home and ready to be repotted and put under one of the Margo trees. After we left here, we took a drive over to the north bridge, Hutchinson Island. The reason was the week before I took Don and Meg over there to show them the new bridge that is being built.
Jeanne was asking, maybe we could stop at Littel Jim's Restaurant? Sure, why not. So, we pulled in and took a short walk up to where everyone was hanging out at. The bar, we walked around and looked into the small store there, selling t shirts and hats plus other things for people to buy. I asked Jeanne what do you think? The reason I asked, this place a packed. people everywhere. Really no sitting room to have lunch and it was very loud too. I know my baby is not into crowds, to tell you the truth, I am not anymore. I used to enjoy going to busy places. Thinking yes, this my kind of place. Not anymore. Sorry to say, the older I get the more I love just being with my wife and that makes me very happy. I love having family around and just enjoying their stories and all that is going on in their lives. But when it is over, I love just going home and relaxing and even taking a nap.
So, we decide to leave and maybe come back during the week when the crowds are smaller.
Okay today is Mom's Day. We will be going to breakfast at the Elks Club in Port Saint Lucie. We are meeting a few friends and the grandchildren. I will be sharing in a couple of weeks those pictures.
Okay today I read in 1 King 18-20. In this 19th chapter talks about how Elijah ran away. Chapter 18th The reason is Jezbel sent him a message saying, May the gods also kill me if by this time tomorrow I have failed to take your life like those whom you killed. Now what she is talking about. Elijah (himself) and 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah, who are supported by Jezbel. They all meet on Mount Carmel and got two bulls. The prophets picked the bull they wanted to sacrifice. Placed him an altar. Elijah told them not to set fire under the bull. He told them to call Baal, they started out and got louder and even started cutting themselves to get Baal to send down fire. This started in the morning, BUT there was no reply. Then they danced wildly around the altar they made. About noon Elijah began mocking them. You'll have to shout louder, he scoffed, for surely, he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or he is relieving himself. Or maybe he away on a trip, or he is asleep and needs to be wakened! So, they shouted louder and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. They raved all afternoon until the time of evening sacrifice, but still there was no reply, no voice, on answer. Then Elijah called to the people, "Come over here! They all crowed around him as he repaired the altar of the Lord that had been torn down, He took twelve stones, one to represent each of the tribes of Israel, and he used the stones to rebuild the Lord's altar, then he dug a trench around the altar large enough to hold about 12 liters. He piled wood on the altar, cut the bull into pieces, and laid the pieces on the wood, then he said fill four large jars with water and pour the water over the offering and after they had done this, he said Do the same thing again! And when they were finished has said, now do it a third time! So, they did as he said, and the water ran around the altar and even overflowed the trench. Then Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, "Oh Lord, God of Abraham. Isaac, and Jacob, prove today you are God in Israel and that I am your servant, prove that I have done all this at your command. Oh Lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you O' Lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself. Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, wood, stone, and the dust. It even licked all the water in the ditch! And when the people saw it, they fell on their faces and cried out,
"The Lord is God! The Lord is God!
