This is the loading ramp we have been using lately. It is a nice and quiet and area. This day there was only two other trucks that had boat trailers on them in the parking lot. It cost $5.00 to park the truck and trailer. A bag of 10# ice is only $3.00. This day we bought two bags. So far all is going well. We can feel the heat is starting up already this morning. I think it's around 9am.
This is really small loading dock area. So there is no signs of where this place is. Just this big yellow house on the entrance.
It was very shallow pulling out of here. So, we took our time getting out of here.
This is the main channel going thru the inter costal (Indian River).
This is the new bridge being built next to the old one. You can see how much higher the new one is. This way the drawbridge will be pulled out and any larger boats will not have to stop and wait on the drawbridge to open her up.
As our boat is not a problem to go thru the waterway there.
We are now going by the Jetty. it's on the right-hand side of us.
Jeanne wants to go out at least a couple of miles away from the shore.
We got out there and dropped our lines in the water. Really nothing hitting our bait. We were using shrimp and squid. We went to about three different spots and dropped the anchor. Then pulled it up and just got a couple of hits.
I can tell you this, IT'S HOT OUT HERE.
Meanwhile we started seeing these guys. REMORAS. These guys will not leave us alone. They followed us to two different spots. Hey, I caught three of these guys. Jeanne asked me to not through them back into the ocean. So, they sat on the deck for a little while and when it was time to leave, I threw them back in. They were still alive.
It was so nice and clam and a beautiful day to be on the ocean.
BUT IT WAS STILL VERY HOT OUT HERE. So, Jeanne asked what do I think? Yes, our time is winding down. Let's head in.
We were booking, Running 29 to 32 speed. Jeanne loves pushing her little girl and to clean her out too.
We were heading back and when we got close to the where the entrance to the loading ramp was very shallow and we needed to take our time. You could fell the prop on the outboard was hitting sand.
So, taking our time we got into the loading area. I went and pulled the trailer down to the load ramp. While backing up, Jeanne was watching for me. She kept saying come on back. The reason was like I said the water was very shallow and we need to get the boat on the trailer. While backing up, I noticed the right-hand side of the trailer dropped down below the guide pole. Not a good thing. I tried to pull the trailer back up the ramp. It kept stopping. Now I am not sure what to do. I didn't take any pictures of this problem. I was more worried about getting the trailer back out of the water. Jeanne had the owner of the loading ramp on her phone. So we called and left a message and five minutes later, Russ showed up and gave us a couple of ideas on how to get the trailer up out of the water. He was saying all we need to do it lift the trailer up and is will be okay. Well, I tried to drive it out. NO WAY, it was stuck. The problem is there is an 8 foot drop off on the side I went off. So, I sure can't pick it up by hand. Russ told us of how a few have got it out, by climb on the boat and get on the front of it. He asked what kind of anchor we had? It is a claw one. I went online to take a picture of what I am talking about.
Okay so this is the kind of anchor we have on the boat. Russ was guiding me as I was on the front of the boat holding the anchor up by the chain it was on. I dropped it down into the water and pulled it up. Missed, I think it took me three times before I got a hold of the trailer. I pulled it up a little and tied it off on the boat and Jeanne backed her up and the trailer came up. Meanwhile Russ was in the F150 truck pulling forward, He pulled it out of the hole and we all stopped and regrouped. Jeanne pulled the boat ahead and I dropped the anchor down and picked it up out the water and I told Jeanne we are clear. So now Russ switched places with us. he got into the boat and Jeanne, and I just watched. Russ drove the boat up on the trailer and I grabbed is and hooked it with the yellow strap. I started cranking her up on the trailer. Meanwhile Russ pushed it up a little more while using the Evinrude Outboard Motor. He gunned it up and I put the crank in lower speed to pull the boat out onto the trailer. All secured and ready to unload everything (tackle, poles) and whatever else we brought with us. Then thanked Russ again and got our butts back home. The boat really was not that dirty. As we got back home, unloaded everything. I cleaned out the outboard with Salt Remove.
We have been using this a while now. It seems to do the job. All I do is hook up the dispenser and run the water thru it and after a few minutes the soap and then clear water come out of the different ports on the motor.
Then use the soap to clean off the poles and anything that had some sea water on it. Tackle box, coolers and everything else. Then run fresh water over everything.
Plus, I spray the trailer under the fenders and into the brakes and everything that is medal. Riase everything again with fresh water and all is well. I even clean under the wheel wells on the F150. Plus, the brake assembly. Oh, plus the trailer hitch too.
Folks salt water is ruthless it rusts everything it has contact with.
I just know this form living in the Bahamas, our train and vehicles all were rusting pretty badly before I came along. I heard of spraying everything there with diesel fuel. It really seemed to help out. I would try every once a month spray all vehicles and the train too.
Okay folks we need to keep our prayers going out to our families and friends. The reason I know of this many people are watching the news, and they are freaking out. Just a couple of days ago, I went to a customer's home and did the work and came into the house and they were watching CNN News. WHY? These folks are just sitting there and listening to the junk that is on that boop tube.
They do this every day I ever stop there to see how they are doing.
