Well Bruce and his wife call me and asked if we could take a look?

This is a old Calgon water conditioner. Well he was telling me that they have not used this for many years. Asking if I could take it out? Well I called Mike and asked if this would be worth any thing? Bruce was thinking it might? Not really. So we started cutting lines.

Got the unit out. Now what? Well as I kept looking at it. I think the taller pipe going back under the house. Well Bruce believes that pipe is dead. So I capped the main line to see what happens. Found out when you turn the water back on, there is no water going into the house. So cut the cap off and ran a pipe from the main line over to the taller pipe. Plus put in a main line valve. I forgot to take a final picture. But it works now.

Then Bruce asked if we could change out his water filters? So this one is under the kitchen sink. He only had one new filter. So I took the canister off and put it in.

This one is for the ice maker in the refrigerator. Got it off with a strap wrench. It really was on there.
By looking at the pieces of tape with the dates on. 10/08 These have not been off for over 10 years. Okay got it off. Put the canister back on so they will have water in the house. I took the filter out and going to Home Depot to get a new one. Mean while on the way, we dropped off the water conditioner at the land fill. Boy this baby was full of salt. We had to use two pales to empty the salt out, before we could pick it up.
The weight was still heavy. Got it loaded and drove over the land fill and there was no charge. Not sure why? But went to Home Depot got the filter and wrench. Got back home and Bruce and his wife went to the doctor's for a appointment. So Friday morning Roy and I went over and put it in. It took me two tries to tighten it up. The reason I say that is. I got it on and asked Roy to turn the water back on. It was leaking a little bit. So I tighten a little more. all is well.
Pretty much all day Friday I laid around and did nothing. But today is beach day.
