This from a friend here, The Bahamas.

Hi Tom,

I am wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year. I hope 2008 is filled with many more gracious things -- good and positive for you.

I hope all is well with you and your family, or loved ones.

It is my prayer that the challenges you face this year will not break you but make you. Believe me, challenges will come. It is my prayer that the challenges I face this year will not break me but make me.

I pray that this year will be a year of few disappointments and no regrets.

I pray that this year be a year of greater spiritual commitment and spiritual prosperity. May your confidence in God and love for Him increase.

I pray that this year would be the year where you and I accomplished most, if not all, of the goals we have set individually whether those goals are spiritual, physical, family, personal, financial, career, or whatever.

I wish you a gracious 2008.

Until then,

Gus

This is from a good friend of mine here in The Bahamas. Now you can under stand why I love it here. Guys like this are so encouraging and willing to lend a hand. I know a lot of you out there have had some rough times this last year. So my prayer is the same. That you will NOT break, BUT MAKE YOU. May His blessings be a pond you this year.

See you all next year. Tom

I am back at home and loving every mintue

I am back at home

Hey everyone I want to say thank you to all of you that took the time to ask me over, or for going out. It really was a great time for me to get caught up with my Christian family. It so good to know that I have a big family, like all of you. The 11 days just seamed to run together. These last days have been such a blessing to me. I am sorry for not seeing all of you; I promise my next trip will be writing out a schedule and sent to all of you. So you can make your plans around it. But like I said before, THANK YOU for every thing you guys have done. I did know some of you wanted to know how to help me out. If He has put me on your heart to help. Please write the check out to Adventure Learning Centre. Then take a post note and stick it to the check. Please don’t write my name on the check, if you want to get it wrote off for taxes. If you have any question on this please feel free to write me.

My e mail address is: toms@alcbahamas.org

I am sorry but I don’t have a personal phone as of today.

I know most of my time there was to get the word out about my needs. I pray that He will use you in any way to help.

Thank you so much for your prayers and suppose. Please let me know if you need any prayers, I would love to be here for you too.

My trip back home

First of all I woke up thinking I would be late for my flight. My reason is, when flying from there to here. I need to board the plane by 9:25am. So I called my ride Bill, and asked him to see if we could go earlier. He said no problem. So we got to the airport by 7:30am. While at the ticket counter. The tells me I need to take 13 pounds out of my bag. I looked at her and ask could I just pay for the weight. She said NO. So, my extra bag I gave to a friend last month and for got to ask for if back. So I opened my bag and just looked for heavy stuff. Well I had 4 bags of cookies and fruit cake. I took them out and it was correct weight. So my friends and family that gave me those, I didn’t get a chance to eat them. They all went into the trash and the just said okay. I was not a happy boy. I was really looking forward in sharing them and even eating them. So if you gave me anything like that. Please remember me the next time I am in town. Okay back to the flight, I didn’t need to be there until 8:30am. So I got some what caught up on e mails. Until my battery went . So if I owe you an e mail, I will write to you this weekend.

See I don’t have intern net at my apartment. I need to go over to the office. But I can write my blogs and save them and send them when I can get on line. Thank you for your prayers and suppose.

I want to share a God story

While in town I rented a car for $191.00, 6 days. I would have liked to hold it for the rest of my stay there. But it would cost 420.00 more. That is right $420.00 for 5 days. I know it is Christmas but it just is not fair for people that can not afford it. So I called a friend of mine, Bill. I was telling him about the rental. He told me, that I could use his truck. I just love how our Lord just loves to bless each and every day of our lives. Then he told me he would love to take me to the airport. Man our Lord is SOOOOOOOO Good.

Okay if any of you out there would like to write to me. Please do at toms@alcbahamas.org

While in town I bought a $19.99 phone at ATT. It was such a blessing to have a working phone. But while at the airport this morning, I was trying to set up my security on the phone. Just to let you know why, my phone got ripped off while in my apartment here in the Bahamas. So I was playing and guess what? Yes I locked it and now I can not get into it. I went to one of the phone guys here, he told me it would cost $75.00 to free it up. I just bought it for $19.99. He said sorry, but that what it will cost. I will try some other places to see if I can save a couple of bucks. I need my phone here and back in Ft Lauderdale. I have $87.00 still on this phone there.

Having some trouble sending pictures

I am sorry but for a couple of days I have tried sending pictures to my blog. I am not sure why. But when I get a chance I will try to do something else. I am sorry for no pictures. Hope and pray by next week it will be working again. Thank you Tom.

While here in town

I was driving along US 1, yesterday, I remembered I needed to go to the Library to check e mails. So I turn right down this street and guess what? I saw a manhole open and looking at it, I remember the set up we used during my time working for Madison Barr. So turn down the road and guess what? It was them, so I stopped and talked with Craig and ask him all kinds of questions and just to get caught up. It has been over three years since I have seen anyone from that company. We talked and it was a good time. Craig told me that there was a Christmas party at the old place this morning around 9am. I was there and boy was I surprised to see so many of my old workers. These guys have been working for the same company, ( name chances 4 times), for over 20 years. The picture you are looking at is just a few of them. The rest were still working in other areas of the state. It sure was a nice time to get caught up and just see how we all have aged a little more.
Okay, my trip has been a wonderful time and just seeing old friends and even getting a chance to go to a movie last night. A friend of mine, Rose and I went and saw August Rush. A real nice and clean movie. I do know if you see it your eyes will leak a little and walk away saying that was a good movie. Well my time is winding down and I still need to see other people. I have been tried calling some , but number are no good. So if you have not hear or seen me, as of today. Please call me at 954-304-0249. I am only here until Thursday this next week. One more problem I will not have a car after tomorrow afternoon. So my time at night is limited. I will be using a bicycle. Plus the use of Tri Rail. I really hope I get to see you all. Merry Christmas and talk with you later on.

Watch out for this.

If you want to see more about this, check out this web page. http://www.snopes.com/fraud/telephone/809.asp

ABOUT AREA CODE

We actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey, this is Karen. Sorry I missed you--get back to us quickly. I Have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809 . 'We didn't respond'.

Then this week, we received the following e-mail:

Subject: DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809 , 284 AND 876

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY

AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809

This one is being distributed all over the US . This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call. Be sure you read this and pass it on. They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has-been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc. In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls. If you call from the US , you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute. Or, you'll get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. Unfortunately, when you get your phone bill, you'll often be charged more than $24,100.00.

WHY IT WORKS:

The 809 area code is located in the British Virgin Islands (The Bahamas). The charges afterwards can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong. Please forward this entire message to your friends, family and colleagues to help them become aware of this scam

Sandi Van Handel, AT&T Field Service Manager

Additional information on these area codes can be found from ATT at:

My flight and fun this day.

Well a normal day in the Bahamas, Customs computers go down. It only took a little while for them to come back. Then our flight was delayed about 1 hour. On the plane ready to go, traffic on run way, another delay. Took off and on my way over. All is going well and get off the plane, Ft Lauderdale. Down in the baggage area, power goes out three times. Lord I am suppose to be here? Hey going to Alamo, piece of cake. They have these computer setup, if you have place order before, you can go to them and sign in and get a little piece of paper and go out and look for a car. I ordered a small one. So I am standing wanting for some to come and tell me which car is mine. I saw a guy and asked, he tells me just pick the one I want and leave. OKAY nice. I standing next to a Saturn so I took that one. Now in the car I playing with the buttons and I hear On Star is here for you??? I push the button next to it. RED ONE, DON"T TOUCH IT. I did and hug up right after he said On Star 911. He called me back and ask me is there a problem. I said no but thank you for calling.
Guess where I went then????? That is RIGHT, Char Hut and boy did I enjoy that.
ATT next, got a phone there and saw Roger from Calvary and just talking found out that Gio's wedding was not where I was going Calvary FT Lauderdale? It was down about 20 miles in Plantain. I have made it to the little town called Fort Lauderdale. Came in Sunday afternoon. Things are going well now. I have made it to ATT to get a New PHONE NUMBER----- 954-304-0249 That is correct, I even checked it on the phone to make sure. Hey I made it to Gio's wedding. It really was a nice service and Pastor Chet had some fun. Okay I just want to make sure every one knows my NEW phone number 954-304-0249. I will be in town here until Dec 27, so if you want to see me or have me for some time. Please call me and I will work it out. Please keep me in prayer here, I really want to connect with friends and family while here. Plus raise up some funds too. May your Christmas be a the BEST it has ever been. He is right long side you as you read this and YOU too can have Him dwell inside of your heart, just by asking Him to enter. Please remember why we have Christmas. Just something to laugh at.

A 54 year old woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near experience. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?" God said, "No, you have another 43 years, 2 months and 8 days to live."

Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a face-lift, liposuction, breast implants and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair colour and brighten her teeth! Since she had so much more time to live, she figured she might as well make the most of it. After her last operation, she was released from the hospital.

While crossing the street on her way home, she was killed by an ambulance. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another43 years? Why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the ambulance?"

God replied: "I didn't recognize you."

NEWS LETTER FROM BAHAMAS

News from Tom Schafer of the Bahamas

It sure has been a great year so far! We have been having many groups come in at the Camp. They have been such a blessing to our little island here. If you have been keeping up with my blog, you have seen most of what they have been working on. The group that was here during the beginning of November did puppet shows and dramas for twelve different schools here. Then before them this group came in and cleaned and painted at the All Saints AIDS Camp. Then before them, groups had work at two different Haitian churches, painting and repair of ceiling, and they poured a slab and even put up a wall of block. So you can see that people have been coming to help others. Now I need help from you all for our projects that we have been working on now for almost three years. One of them is the bath house. When I got here we cleared the land and started laying block. Then a storm called Katrina came into the lower parts of the states and every since then the groups that plan on coming here have felt they needed to work there, which I understand. But we are still trying to run a Camp and the needs are very great. So at this time I am respectfully inviting you all to pray and see if God puts us on your heart for helping us with our projects here. There is one more project that has been work on now for 4 years. Both of our cottages have roofs on them now. The inside is still in great need to finish before our next Patmos students come in. These will serve as the new dorms. If you want to see pictures on this, check out my blog and back in September 2007 you can see how far we are.

So please folks take the time to pray and see if God has something for you to do here. Thank you and I hope to see you during the Christmas time at Calvary. I will be there December 16-27. Thank you, Tom

Hey everyone this is for all of you.

LOVE YA
One morning you will never wake up ,
Do all your friends know you love them?
I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week,
and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed,
friendships that needed rekindling, or three words needing to be said.
Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think
they don't love you back . You would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do.
And just in case GOD calls me home before I see you again...... I LOVE YA!!!
Live ! today to the fullest because tomorrow is not promised

Following The Star By Max Lucado

Suppose you could give a gift to Christ, what would it be? How could you
possibly select a gift for the One who not only has everything, but who made
everything?
The Wise Men did. They can be an example to us. In addition to the gold,
frankincense, and myrrh, they gave the Savior some gifts we can give him today:
their hope, their time, and their worship.
The wandering wise men gave Jesus their hope. When everyone else saw a night
sky, this small band of men saw the light. The sight of the star sparked a
desire in their hearts that send them packing. They went, seeking Jesus.
When night comes to your world, what do you see? The darkness or the stars?
Hopelessness or hopefulness? Sometimes, just as he did so long ago, God uses
the darkness to reveal his stars—“The light shines in the darkness” (John
1:5). Give God your hope for Christmas.
While you’re giving, give God your time. The wise men did. Before they gave
God their presents, they gave their presence. It’s likely that these men
traveled as long as two years before locating the prince of heaven. Before that
one incredible moment when they knelt before Jesus, the wise men spent many
moments, months, perhaps years searching, in anticipation of that meeting. Just
as the wise men devoted themselves to seeking the Savior, so can you: “You
will seek him and find him when you seek him with all your heart” (Duet.
4:29).
And when they did find him, the wise men gave Jesus another gift: their
worship. Men of wealth, influence, and intellect: what did they do when they saw
Jesus? “…they fell down and worshiped him” (Matt. 2:11)
Worship. It’s a gift that extends to the giver as well. Through worship, we
come to see God more clearly. God invites us, through worship, to see his
face so he can change ours. In worship, we simply stand before God with a
prepared and willing heart and let God do his work. And he does. He wipes away the
tears. He mops away the perspiration. He softens our furrowed brows. He
touches our cheeks. He changes our faces as we worship. The wise men sought the
child of God, just as God seeks his children. “The Father is actively seeking
such people to worship him” (John 4:23).
The gifts of hope, time, and worship. Three gifts the wise still give.

Luayan, International School, Good kids

Great bunch of 6 graders, left today.

Hey we just had a group of 6 graders. they were from the Island of Freeport, Grand Bahamas. The school's name is Luayan. Not sure what it means. I think it is a Indian name. Well these kids came in and we all had a chance to share the Word of God both days. While they were with the ALC staff. all day Monday and then today with me.
I just want you all to know some thing about these kids. We went into one of the cabins, boy's. I asked them if they were okay. One boy came up to me and said he didn't know how to make his bed. The teacher came over and showed him. Then while talking with Sue, the leader, she was sharing how one of the s were wondering how many maids would be here to help them out. Sue told them none. The last week Sue was reading them a story about a poor little boy that always wanted to fly in a plane. During this time 4 of the boys in her class told her that their dads had their own planes. Just listening to this and watching them. These kids were really good and listen pretty much to me and their teachers. I really did enjoy their stay and this is just to let the world know we are spoiling our children and not giving them a real look at the world by letting them do their work and even making their own beds. Please if any one out there is doing this. Remember how it was when you had to learn and do it yourself. Please I know we want to give them every thing, so they don't have to worry about any thing. Remember your life before. Plus I really did enjoy their ways and how they were hungry for God's Word. Please keep them in prayer and hope to see them one day.

Are your shoes touch some one elses?

Shoes I showered and shaved.I adjusted my tie. I got there and sat. In a pew just in time. Bowing my head in prayer. As I closed my eyes. I saw the shoe of the man next to me. Touching my own. I sighed. With plenty of room on either side. I thought, "Why must our soles touch?"It bothered me, his shoe touching mine. But it didn't bother him much. A prayer began: "Our Father". I thought, "This man with the shoes.. has no pride. They're dusty, worn, and scratched. Even worse, there are holes on the side! "Thank You for blessings," the prayer went on. The shoe man said a quiet "Amen." I tried to focus on the prayer. But my thoughts were on his shoes again. Aren't we supposed to look our best.. When walking through that door? "Well, this certainly isn't it," I thought, Glancing toward the floor. Then the prayer was ended. And the songs of praise began. The shoe man was certainly loud. Sounding proud as he sang. His voice lifted the rafters. His hands were raised high. The Lord could surely hear. The shoe man's voice from the sky. It was time for the offering. And what I threw in was steep. I watched as the shoe man reached. Into his pockets so deep. I saw what was pulled out. What the shoe man put in. Then I heard a soft "clink" . as when silver hits tin. The sermon really bored me. To tears, and that's no lie. It was the same for the shoe man. For tears fell from his eyes. At the end of the service. As is the custom here We must greet new visitors.. And show them all good cheer. But I felt moved somehow. And wanted to meet the shoe man. So after the closing prayer. I reached over and shook his hand. He was old and his skin was dark. And his hair was truly a mess. But I thanked him for coming. For being our guest. He said, "My names' Charlie.I'm glad to meet you, my friend."There were tears in his eyes. But he had a large, wide grin "Let me explain," he said. Wiping tears from his eyes. "I've been coming here for months. And you're the first to say 'Hi. "I know that my appearance. "Is not like all the rest "But I really do try."To always look my best. "I always clean and polish my shoes.."Before my very long walk. "But by the time I get here."They're dirty and dusty, like chalk." My heart filled with pain and I swallowed to hide my tears. As he continued to apologize. For daring to sit so near. He said, "When I get here."I know I must look a sight. "But I thought if I could touch you.."Then maybe our souls might unite." I was silent for a moment. Knowing whatever was said.Would pale in comparison. I spoke from my heart, not my head. "Oh, you've touched me," I said."And taught me, in part; "That the best of any man."Is what is found in his heart." The rest, I thought, This shoe man will never know. Like just how thankful I really am. That his dirty old shoe touched my soul You are special to me and you have made a difference in my> life. I respect you, and truly cherish you. Send this to your friends, No matter how often you talk, Or how close you are, And send it to the person who sent it to you. Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will. Remember, everyone needs a friend. Someday you might feel like you have no friends at all. Just remember this e-mail and take comfort in knowing that someone out there cares about you and always will. SHANNY> > >TOM SCHAFER Added.

Do you think they could use a new sign???

This is one of the nice guys there, John.

We have a NEW sign for my friends at Untiy House

It sure has been a while since I have been working on getting them a new sign. You can see the old one above. It was sitting in side of the dinning hall there. I asked them if they would like me to fix it up. They told me that would be great. But back about 8 months is when I had that little talk with Miss Butler. So the wait was worth it they said. This sign is the only way for people to know where this place is. It just looks like a old house with some people sitting under a car port. So now they should get more people to stop by and say hello and maybe even help them out some more. I have not taught there now for three weeks. Reason there has been groups in and just don't have the time to do it. I saw them today and told them maybe I will be back this Thursday, no promises. It is so good to see God's hand working to improve some where and all I can do is say thank you for the money that people gave me to do it and let Him be Glorified.

Prayer that we all need to say and beleive

This is a beautiful and thoughtful prayer. If you delete it is ok. God's love is not dependent on a-mail (that's the cool part). PRAY THIS EVEN IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE IT!! IT WILL ONLY TAKE A MINUTE. I started not to do this, but as I read it.... I understood God to say, "You need a miracle tomorrow.... so here goes... Prov. 29:25...

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an under standing God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my! mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And give the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that will delete this without sharing it with others I pray for those that don't believe. But I thank you that I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it. If you prayed this prayer, change the number in the subject box before forwarding the message so people can See how many people have done so. God Bless!!!!!!!!!!! Just repeat this phrase and see how God moves!!

God I love you and I need you, come into my heart, please. Pass this message to 10 people except you and me. You will receive a miracle tomorrow. Don't ignore and God will bless you. Know that you are already blessed by the person who sent this to you God is able to turn all our sadness into dancing and all our ashes into radiant beauty.

In the Nassau Guardian Nov. 21st 2007

A GREAT group that was here this last week.

They are from a small town called Oviedo and it is near Orlando Fl. These guys and s came in Saturday afternoon and then just didn't stop ministry at all. After flying and getting some to eat, we went back to the Camp and enjoy a young lady's birthday. Her name is Karen and she is the daughter of a good friend that I meet three years ago. Tom Underdown, he has been part of the puppet and drama team during those times here. He is a dad just like most of you guys out there and has a very busy schedule, but he takes this time to get a team together and come over here and do their thing. Well Sunday they had their church time then we went to Rainfurly home and spent the day there doing the puppets and drama and taking time to play with the kids there. It was a full day and I know for sure, each and every student, (group) and kid had a ball. The next morning, Monday and Tuesday too, we went to 12 different schools. During that time my Lord helped us find the schools and just do His work. At the end of the two days I was so HAPPY to see the gate at the Camp, that I could have hugged the fence. It was a time that our Lord work on my patience and driving skills. Just one other thing to say. Tuesday morning I dropped one team off in the middle of the island. Then went back to pick up the drama team, the bring them to a school right next to the school I dropped another team. It is funny now. But at the time I didn't like rushing from one side of the island to the other and back in 30 minutes. But like I said before He did it ALL and He was glorified. They had a couple of inter views with the TV and radio stations too. That is the picture above that was in the news paper today.

This was in today paper.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Hey it so hard to believe that the day is here already. It seem to me we just had 4th of July last week???? Since I have been getting older, the time is flying by. I remember when I was 151/2 years old. How it just took so long to turn 16 so I could drive. then waiting around for 18 so I could drive and drive at night. Not at the same time.????? Maybe I did during those days of party and growing up. Then I waited around until 21 so I could vote. Then 25 so I could rent a car in New York. So now I am waiting around so I can collect money at 65 years old. What to look forward toooooooo. I am joking for waiting on that. It will be here soon enough.
We I saw this in our paper today and remember buying eggs this last week. $3.78 a dz. So that is what it is all about.
Hey just enjoy your family time and eat your turkey and ENJOY the day. I know if I was back in Florida I would be watching some football and get as much turkey as I could. We are all going over to Pastor Chet for dinner and some fellowship. Please enjoy and let me know how you are all doing out there.

My help has come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes that is correct the family that I have been telling every one, they are HERE!!!!!!!!. I am not sure if you really understand how happy I am. They have been coming here since March. During there time here before, they found a house to rent. Well they came in Wednesday night and Thursday we went over to see how the house was coming. The man that owns the place, still has not moved his stuff out, plus there was a whole list of things that needed to be repaired, before they could move in. That is the real sad part, he has not done anything since Jan. The place looks the same as back then. The problem is now, they don't have a home for now. They are staying in my place now. I will be staying in the guest room at the Camp. Until God finds them a new place or this guy gets his place ready. Only God know for sure now. Hey they have a roof over their heads and it might be small but it is theirs for now. The real neat thing is they are very flexible people and the 4 kids don't really carry about having their own rooms or not. I will keep you all inform when He opens the door to their home here. Please keep that is prayer and I know He will work it all out. I will have pictures of them next week.

Look how hard they are working? Day to relaxe

This is the Chapel at All Saints, aids camp.

This is their time for devotions

Hey out there, how are things going?

Well about a month ago we had a group in at the Camp that was from Galdville. I am sorry for not showing you these pictures until now. I just got them from a friend of mine, Larry. He has been pretty busy doing that thing called work. He was telling me that after he left here, Bahamas, he had a retreat to over see and even teach at. Well after that he was flying all over the states to get stories and pictures for the new paper that he works for. So here are some of the pictures and you can see how much they really did enjoy themselves while being here. Enjoy and I will write later on this week about other things they did.

Pastor John and friends.

Had a good friend stop by and say hello.

These last couple of days we had a friend in town. Pastor John, he came to do some teaching and just enjoying time away from all that is going on in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It sure was good time. I had the chance to take Pastor John out for coffee and even we had lunch together. He sure is a great role for me and others. Just talking with him I realize that our Lord is the One and only One that is using us to do His work on this earth. I have known Pastor John pretty much my time I have been walking with the Lord. He is turning 67 years young this next month. His ministry is Biblical counseling. He has been doing this for over 14 years. The real neat thing about him is his way of life has not really changed, what I am trying to say. He has smile on his face and every time I have talked with him, he is used by the Holy Spirit, mightily. He has been areal spark in my life. So if you see this friend of mine, just give him a BIG hug for me and let him know how much he is loved by many.

A sad passing of a friend.

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Dough boy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Dough boy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.
Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.
The funeral was held at 350 for about 20 minutes.
If this made you smile for even a brief second, please rise to the occasion and take time to pass it on and share that smile with someone else who may be having a crumby day and kneads it.

A mother ask WHY ?

A mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"
A mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die in Saudi Arabia
A mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die in Kuwait?"
Another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die in Vietnam?"
Another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die in Korea?"
Another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die on Iwo Jima?"
Another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die on a battlefield on a field in France?"
Yet another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"
And yet another mother asked President ... "Why did my son have to die on a frozen field near Valley Forge?"
Then long, long ago, a mother asked... "Heavenly Father .
why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem ?"
The answer is the same ..
"So that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness, and freedom."

This use to be our road to the Dinning Hall

This is Cabin #6

I am well and the storm was a calm one

I would like to up date you all on the Tropical Storm Noel. Here at the ALC there was no real trouble with rain or wind. Down the road, place called Pine Wood got hit hard with rain. There was about the whole area flooded bad. People homes and even their cars were flooded out. If you have ever been here during some rain. You can see the draining here is not happening. The water just sits and in two or three days it will dry up. The pictures above are just what it looked like here at the Camp and Centre. If we received the rain we were suppose to. Boy that would be another story. We got about 3 to 4 inches. They were telling us to see about 15 and up inches of rain. The winds didn't do any damage here but other island had some. Long Island was hit the worse of all. They have been getting a lot of rain since the storm came last week. So when Noel came he dumped even more. The water was about three to four feet deep in some areas. So just think about the pictures above and if we got the rain what we would look like. I know myself that our Lord is sooooo good to us and He does protect us. Thank you for your prayers on this and even for me. Things have calmed down a lot since the storm and we have had a chance to regroup. The board didn't come down. Reason the airport was closed for two and half days. So the board meeting that was suppose to happen, is going to happen down the road. I myself have been very blessed in just relaxing and watching some movies with my friends here. Thank you I really hope and pray all is well with you. Bye for now Tom.

Welcome to our Singles Ministry

This is what our Single's Ministry is doing

Hello all, It sure nice of you to stop by to say hello and check out what is going on. Well this last Saturday night we got togeter and talked about
Principles of ual Purity
This topic is pretty much on most singles lives. How and why we need to stay pure. The main reason is, God's Word said to.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 to 7 These verse are telling us that God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.
There was so much information that Gus, the one that did the study for us. He gave us a hand out and boy it is full of the right and correct things as singles we all should be doing.
There is a verse that came to my mind during our time together , it is
2 Timothy 2:22, these verses talk of how we should flee from evil desires and full thoughts.
I just thought maybe there would be one person out there that needed to see this and I pray that they do. Please check out 1 Corinthians 6:12 to 20, too.
Please if you have any questions on this, PLEASE feel free to e mail me and I will try to give you some answers.
Hey if you are single, here in the Bahamas, please come out to our with us. Just e mail me and I will hook you up. You can be from another church, that doesn't matter at all. Just let me know.
May this day be the time that He shows and blesses you.

This is our beautful and wonderfull back hoe

Good afternoon my fellow friends

.

I have a deal of the century, it is a John Deere Back Hoe, and not sure what year it is. I think it was built back in the 80’s. Okay now my deal is, I will give you money to take it away. That is right, it is your for the taking. The reason I am being so willing to do this is.

About a month ago, I was working on it and found out the fuel tank had a problem with the line coming out. I repaired that. Ran for a day. Then I had trouble with blowing a large oil line that controls the levers. Replace that, then the canister that holes the oil in it. Got by running over a rock. Now that caster cost us $409.00. That was bought in the states. Then getting it through costumes cost another $175.00. Replace it and it ran for about a couple of times. Two weeks ago, it kept on stalling out. So I pulled the fuel tank out again. Found out there was junk in the lines. Cleaned them out and it seamed to be running well. One day trying to start it, found out the start rely went out. Replace it, ran good for a half a day. The next day it kept on stalling out again. Looked at the clear fuel filter and saw air bubbles coming out of the top. I just started taking the fuel tank out again, Then I tried to run it with a line sitting in a gas tank and see what would happen. Same thing, air bubbles on the top. Last night I saw a friend of mine at a dinner, and asked him what he thought, he said change out the fuel filter again; there must be a rip in the o rings on the top. So this morning, went to Napa, bought a fuel filter, put it in and it ran great. Now thinking all is well, I drove it over to our Camp. While here I started clearing some land so I could burn some trash. While the fire was going strong, I thought it would be a good time to practice digging with the back hoe. I was doing well until the controls went . I got off the machine and looked under it and saw oil running out and it was not just a small flow, it all came out and there it sits. So if you would like to own your own back hoe. PLEASE just send me your address and I will see what I can do.

All kidding aside I need to find out what God is trying to show me or what sin is in my life that He is trying to get my attention. I really not sure at this time, but I know he will tell me at the time I need to know. I am sorry for the long note, but I do fell better sharing all that is going on. That is good or even bad. Please keep me in prayer and one day I will just look back and laugh at all that is going on. May He bless your day and I would love to hear from you.

Really, who is at fault?

This is a little fender bender.

Saturday morning I was coming from our Men's Bible Study. Just driving down the road I notice a couple of guys having a loud talking match. I over heard one say, it is your fault, your tail gate should not be down. So the man that hit the truck with the tail gate down is telling him it was his fault. I just drove by and laugh. It is so funny how we are willing to blame the other guy when really it was your own doing. I just thought how many times I do that and don't even realize, it really is my own fault.
Have I told you All, how much I love you and thank you for your prayers.

This would have cost us $460.00. Sad part, this is our last spare.

This is Peter our tyre repair man.

How to repair a tyre. .

During the week someone ran up against a curb and cause the tire to have a bubble. Which, down the road could cause a blow out. By looking at the pictures you can see how if formed even on the inside of it. But the neat part of this story is how Peter, did the tyre change. All he did was put a 4x4 board under the inside tyre. I rolled back over it and there the out side tyre is ready to work on. But here is something I have never seen. He took the old tyre off and put the new one on still hooked up to the bus. That I thought was pretty neat and smart. Folks I have been around trucks and cars for most of my life and I have never seen this before. So we all can learn from this and pass it on.
Now the sad part, that tyre you are looking at cost $460.00. So a tyre that is not worn out, plus still can't be used again. Is a waste of money.
I received a e mail from a friend of mine this morning, she said it was good to see I have my since of humor back. She is talking about the last Blog I did. I didn't think I lost it in the first place. For everyone out there, I am well and looking forward in another day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. E mail and let me know how you are doing????????

A sweet story about Italian Cookies

*This is for all the Italians out there, and those who are lucky enough to be married to an Italian, and even to all the friends of Italians.
* An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite Italian anisette sprinkle cookies wafting up the stairs. Gathering his remaining strength, he lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly made his way out of the bedroom, and with even greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands he crawled downstairs.
With labored breath, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen where, if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven. For there, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table, were literally hundreds of his favorite anisette sprinkled cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted Italian wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a <>>happy man?
Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture. His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringing him back to life. His aged and withered hand trem bled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked with a spatula by his wife.
"Get outta' here!" she SAID these are for the funeral!!!!!!

Just look at the front and you can see the window and wall needs repair.

Looks great, just needs some paint.

Hey guys and s, sorry for the long delay.

I want to start out with a Praise report that I received Friday morning during devotions. Pastor Randy Pearce, told all of us that God has been doing some work and one of MINE prayers are getting answered. The family that has been planing on coming over here to help us out maintenance is on their way. They are to be coming in at the end of this month. Thank you so much for your prayers. I sure am looking forward of them coming. Not just the help but having more men around. So THANK YOU AGAIN.
Now I want to explain the pictures above this note. This is the place that Calvary Bible Men have been working on now for almost three months. it is finished and looks great. If you look back at my blog in July you can see before and after pictures. The family has moved in and now living there and the rent they were paying before is going straight into their home. So like I said before, His timing is the best.
One more thing, our DSL is up now and it is working great. The real sad part is the man from the phone company still not sure what is wrong. But he made it work for now. The reason I still have been e mailing you all is from the Camp office. That one was not infected.

Spirital war fare is happening to each and everyone in Christ.

This last week has been one of my worst weeks in a long time here. I will just give you some of the highlights. Wednesday 26th, I had a guy come in to help us fix our phone lines. During that time he cut a couple of other phone lines, I thought went to our cordless phones, but it was our Internet and those phones I speak of. So that afternoon, I tried hooking those lines back up. Well after working on them for a couple of hours I gave up. I called the guy and he told me he would be out Thursday at 8am. Great, 9am I called him and ask if he was coming? He said I will be our at 4pm. Okay maybe great. 5pm I called and he told me he could not come out until Friday, you guess it, 8am. 9am I called he was on his way. Okay he came and hooked up the two lines that he cut. I did that already I told him. He looked and he just didn't know what could have happen. Well by 10:30am he called the phone company and ask if some one for some to test our lines. Well it is Sunday morning and we still don't have Internet or cordless phones working. Okay that was just one problem. Thursday morning we took the students to the port to drop them off. Before leaving I notice the brakes on the bus I was driving were gone. The bus was loaded and I just took my time driving down town, to the port. We made it and back. Now Thursday afternoon I have a lot of other things to get done. But I took the time to take apart the brakes and make some phone calls on parts. Friday after phone guy leaves, I got the parts. But remember I have a group coming in at 3pm that afternoon to stay at the Camp. So I work around the Camp until 6pm waiting on them. They came and i left for home. 7:30pm I get a call, no lights in the cabins are working, plus where is the sheets and things. I get down here and fix the lights then I go into the storeroom (no lights) to get the sheets and things. At that time I just lost my cool and started, not good things. No one was around to hear me. But Him above, I know He was just watching me have a taunter. I got the sheets and put them in the cabins and went back to ask is there anything else they needed? She said thank you I went back to my place and crashed. So I really hope and pray you have been praying for me. Because I am under attack. So PLEASE keep me in your prayers and I know this next week will be soooooooooo MUCH better. Thank you for listening to my pity party.

Patmos is on there way to Eleuthera.

Well this morning, all of the students were woken up at 4am. They had to pack their things for a 10 day stay over, in about 15 minutes and in the dark too. During this time they didn’t have a clue on what and where they were going. The real neat thing about this is trip is they will be helping a friend of ours out. That is Richard Albury; he received about 28 acres on the island of Eleuthera. His plans are clear this land and use this area as a camp, the name is Camp Bahamas. He has been using this land for over a couple of years now. During the summer he has a camp for the students around the all of the islands here. This island is, by boat a 4 hour trip. While traveling I believe it will be a sweet time to sleep. They have been going strong for the last four full weeks. During all this they have been going through a time called persecuted church. They have been staying up most nights and during the day Pastor Chet has them in the classroom from 8:15 am to around noon time. Then after that they get to help us out, by working on different jobs around the Camp and Centre. So just by their schedule alone is full and they have other things to do too. They need to study and even there are 48 verses to memorize too. So I can tell you this they don’t have time to sleep. If you would please keep them in prayer. They will be back on Oct 8th, I think.

The Four Blessings Look

Look back and thank God.
Look forward and trust God.
Look around and serve God.
Look within and find God!"
"I asked God, 'How do I get the best out of life?' God said, 'Face
your past without regrets. Handle your present with confidence. And
prepare for the future without fear!'"
"Without God, our week is: Mournday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thirstday,
Fightday, Shatterday and Sinday. So, allow Him to be with you every
day!"
"Life is short, so forgive quickly. Believe slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably.
Never regret anything that makes you happy. And have a

This is what rage looks like.

This world is going to HELL in a hand basket

I am not sure if anyone out remembers that Fraze? But I sure do and the picture above is what they were talking about. My neighbors next store, have some troubles going on in their lives. First of all by looking at this picture you can see rage and angry in his face. This happen this last Saturday night around 12:25am. I was woken by a knock at my door and all I could hear from that time on was a lot of differ ways of saying words I can not repeat. Boy this man was there to put a hurting on his friend and who ever else was in his way. I came out and called the police and just stood there watching what he was doing. The neat thing I saw was how one of the daughters stood in front of her mother so he would not hurt her. I really wish I could have done more, but all they were doing was yelling. So I stood and watched. There was one time he did jump after her. I got a hold of his neck and told him to let go. He did and I just backed off again. While waiting for the police to come I called them 25 minutes later. They said they are on their way. They did show up until 55 minutes later. All I am trying to say is Please watch out for your neighbors health and will being. I know there is more domestic problems in this world that, really no one knows except the one that are invoild. At the end of all this, there was no one that got hurt, except the children that watch it all go down. Sunday morning the man came over and he told me that he was out of control and he was sorry. I told him that, by just living with her he did not have any rights or even reason to say anything to her. There is a lot more we talked about and I did tell him about the drinking. I really hope and pray that he listen and he might seek some help. Please pray for them and let God do some amazing work in their lives. Thank you Tom.

This has been like this for over year now.

Still need to put on the roofing itself.

This is the guy named Chris, THANK YOU

Look at all He has done here on one of our cottages

Hey folks, it is soooooo good to see His holy hands on this place. Last week a friend of ALC came in on Sunday night and stayed until Sunday morning the following week-end. His name is Chris, he proclaims he has not done this kind of work for over twenty years. But he came any way. He over saw the crew of Patmos and staff, to get what you see done. We have had a lot of trouble getting people to come over and work on this cottage. By looking at the pictures above you can see the beginning and the end. Which is just so amazing how our Lord is so faithful and knows who to send and the time too. These cottages have been part of the plan here for over three years now. Since Hurricane Katrina, three years ago, there really has not been any people coming out here to do building projects. Like the bathhouse, still doesn't even have the floor in. So when guys like Chris come out we REALLY look forward in seeing how God is going to use that person or PERSONS and what will get done? So if you have any free time or even time to do some work over here, we would love to hear from you and go from there. Hey guys I know there is a lot of people that know other people that would love to help us out. PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT AND E MAIL ME. toms@alcbahamas.org I thank you for stopping by and checking out the blog. I really pray that your day is blessed. Bye.

Received from a friend, here in Bahamas. Betts

Breakfast at McDonald's

This is a good story and is true, please read it all the way through until the end! (After the story, there are some very interesting facts!):
I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree. The last class I had to take was Sociology.
The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with.
Her last project of the term was called, "Smile."
The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions.
I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake, literally.
Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning.
It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son.
We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then
even my husband did.
I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved.
As I turned around I smelled a horrible "dirty body" smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men.
As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was "smiling".
His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance. He said, "Good day" as he counted the few coins he had been clutching. The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation. I held my tears as I stood there with them.
The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.
He said, "Coffee is all Miss" because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up, they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).
Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes.
That is when I noticed all eyes in the restaurant were set on me, judging my every action.
I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray.
I then walked around the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.
He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, "Thank you."
I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, "I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope."
I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son. When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, "That is why God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope."
We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give.

We are not church goers, but we are believers .
That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love.
I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this story in hand.
I turned in "my project" and the instructor read it.
Then she looked up at me and said, "Can I share this?"
I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed.
In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my son, instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.
I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn:

UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.
Much love and compassion is sent to each and every person who may read this and learn how to

LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS - NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.
There is an Angel sent to watch over you.
In order for her to work, you must pass this on to the people you want watched over.
An Angel wrote:

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.
To handle yourself, use your head.
To handle others, use your heart.
God Gives every bird it's food, but He does not throw it into its nest.

CELL PHONES DURING EMERGENCY

Subject: ICE
We all carry our mobile phones with hundreds of names/ numbers stored in its memory but who, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our near and dear ones? If we are involved in an accident or have a heart attack and the people attending us get hold of our mobile phone, they won't now which number to call to inform our family members. Yes, there are many numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? For this reason, we must have one or more telephone numbers stored under the name ICE (In case of Emergency) in our mobile phones. Recently, the concept of "ICE" is catching up quickly. It is simple, an important method of contact during emergency situations. The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialing the number stored as "ICE".Please forward this. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc. A
great idea that will make a difference! Let's spread the concept
of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile phones today! Pleaseforward to all your nearest and dearest.

God's Great Love

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain .... Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall, But God's always ready, To answer your call ... He knows every heartache, sees every tear, A word from His lips, can calm every fear ... Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night, But suddenly vanish, in dawn's early light ... The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, To give you His grace, and send you His love .. Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, "God always sends rainbows .... after the rain ... " Betts
