This is the Sherwood Family that I have been talking about Posted by Picasa

This is a story about a family on that Logos#2

This is a story about a family on the Logos#2
I meet a gentalman named Grantley, saturday morning, during a Men Meeting on the ship. He is the one that gave our small group a tour of the ship. He was sharing about all kinds of things on there. At the end of the tour I got a chance to speak and ask him some questions. Boy I am sure glad I did. He had a whole store to share about him being on the Logos #1. Back in 1988 when it (logos) ran a ground and they thought everything was okay. But in about 10 minutes they rang the bell to get off the ship. Well Grantley was single back then. He got into a lfe boat and the men he was with started singing How Good Our God Is. (I think that was the song) But now think of it, he just lost all of the items that he had on the ship and floating away from it singing. Boy when he told me that I could have only thought about how Paul in 2 Corinthians 6:3 to 13. That he speaks of the Hardship that he went through. Okay back to the story. Grantley told me that he had so much peace and he knew that God was in control. Then he just told me about his family. Thursday we had all the crew here at Adventure Learning Centre. So during that day I got a chance to sit with him and his family. We ate lunch toeghter. He has a Godly wife that trusts the Lord with it all. She use to work for OM in England. That is where she meet Grantley (he was working at the same office). They just hit it off and got married and had three boys. The oldest is Samuel, next is Joshua and then there is Daniel. Grantley told me their ages, but not sure now. Let us say 10,9 and 7, is that okay? Now I ask them about what did the grandparents say about them leaving and taking the grand kids away? They both said about the same, if you want to go, but not to happy about it. Madelyn (his wife) was telling me even more about the families and what they all they had to go through. It worked out and they knew that this is what our Lord wanted them to do. Getting back about when Grantley was on the old ship, he told me that he even trust our Lord even more this day than back then.
What they are doing on the ship itself. Grantley is the one that over sees the computers and any conmunications. Madelyn, her job is to working where ever they need her plus watching over their three children. The children are taught on the ship and I had a chance to see the classrooms. They are sure small but they work. There are fourteen (14) children on the ship. Aging 18 months to 15 years old. So there is always some thing for them to do. Up on the middle of the deck there is a play grounds and a jungle jym too.
Well I have spoken enough for this night. So I will leave you now and Please keep the Logos #2 in prayer, they left here to go down to the Caribbean. Something I did forget to tell you about the ship, Everyone on the ship is a missionary. Even the captan, and enigneers too. So there is no one on this ship that gets paid. So just think about 200 people on a small ship like the Logogs#2 and they are all misionaries. Plus from all over the world too. So there is some lauguage problems. But just watching them they get by. Even I had some trouble listening. But has you want alittle while, they slow down and try to help you. It really was nice to vist and make new freinds on this ship. If at anytime you want to e mail them, or even pray for them they would very much enjoy that. Their e mail address is grantlet.sherwood@logos2.org So for this evening I will say God Bless and hope you have a wonderful weekend. Bye Tom Phil 4:13

This the things that have happen this God given day

Well folks, I just have a couple of things to say tonight. The OM team that was staying at the Camp is now back on the boat. They told me that it was a wonderful time to get closer to Him. Tomorrow we are going to pick up half of the crew on the ship. Bring them back and let it be a fun day for them. The Centre is closed to the schools tomorrow. They will have a chance to see our place, play and even get to see the Planetarium Show. Then around 1pm take them back and bring the rest of the crew. It is going to be a great time to mingle and just have some fun.
After all that we will take the last group back, then we as staff of ALC will be going to the Loggos for dinner and a tour. Plus around 8pm we are invited to their prayer meeting. So just talking with the staff here and looking forward to tomorrow night. It should be a blast.
Now I want to share another picture with you this night.

tombahamas

If you guys and girls know me. I love to take pictures and share them. This one was on box next. While living here I can see why someone would have this sign up. If you know anything about Bahamas, is everything you buy here has been jacked up. Reason everything has a duty fee on it. That means all the items that we, back in the states have to pay a tax. Here it is called Duty Fee So all things that are shipped here there is a cost. I will use my truck for a example. I bought my Mazda 1998 in 2003 for $3500.00 dollars. Coming over here, it cost me another $3600.00 dollars. Reason, the shipping was $400.00 and then the duty was $3200.00 dollars. They told me that this truck sells for $7000. That is why the $3200.00. So just by doing that I can see how this sign is getting around here.
Well today was a nice easy day. The group of 5 from OM left to go back to their ship. Then at the same time picked up another 10 kids, they are just coming to rest and get their heads back in order. Tomorrow is a day of fasting for all of them. So please keep them in prayer to be strong. These kids are in a program to grow in their faith and to be better leaders in the future. While they were on the ship, everyday they had to run for 5 miles and that was early in the morning. Plus they had to read differ books and get tested on them. This is like a program that Pastor Chet wants to start here in June. If you remember he was at Pottter Feild doing the same. Building up men and women for the mission feild. Please if any of you want to e mail me it is toms@alcbahamas.org I would to hear from you. Take care and may His love grow more in you thsi next days a head. Tom, Phil 4:13.

From Febuary to now.

Hello fellow Friends,
It has been a while since I have spoke to you guys. I just found out about this page called blog. It sure looks like something that I can handle. You all know my skills in writing. So here goes. I have been at The Adventure Learning Centre for over 10 months now. Our Lord has been blessing me over and over again. What I have been doing here is doing the job of a Acting Camp Directors position. That is making sure the Camp grounds is all in order and that it is ready for the next group to come in. I have been working alone side a guy that was the director before, his name is Dan. It has been a lot to do but our Lord has been there everyday. This last month we had Calvary Family Ministry here for 5 days. They helped out at a couple of the Orphans Homes around here. Plus helping us get the Centre cleaned up too. The sad part was I got really sick the last couple of days while they were here. So like a church, the staff at the Centre came over and took care of the driving and getting them where they needed to go.
Then the next following weeks Calvary 8th Graders came and they did the same going to the Aids Camp, Orphans Homes and even hepled out at the Centre too. There was two sets of groups. Boy by the time the second group came I was back to myself. Just to give you all awarning this flu that I have was bad news. It hit me straight on and did not let go until 7 days went by. So please be a ware of it. Now this last week there was 21 people from Moody College here. Their main reason was to shoot a movie. There was three students that needed to get this done, for they final grade. We were out almost everynight shooting sences. There was a couple nights that we started at 2pm and got back at 3am. So boy did our Lord use that time to let me listen and talk with the ones that where not part of that shoot. It was a great time to hear how He has been working in these kids lives and during this time He showed me that I don't need 8 hours of sleep too. The film is about a love and murder and even Jesus is suppose to be in it. I saw all of it but Jesus. But whenI see the movie come out they said that I would see Him. The movie needs to be done by May so, they told me that their plains are for it to hit the International Film Market. Plus they promised me a copy too. The name of the movie is SANDCASTLE. So please keep our eyes lookling for it and let me know what you thing of it.
Now this last week we have had OM Operation Moble (spelling) here in the Bahamas. The ship called Loggs 2 is here until March 30 (?) Right now there are 5 kids staying at the Camp and tonight we are having a cook out. They will be here until tomorrow. Then I will take them back and pick up another 12. They will stay for two days, they need to get caught up on studies and just resting time. I am looking forward in seeing them too. This last group have been some great times of listening and talking about the differ parts of the world.

Jeanne saw this place and had to stop.
