If you know me, I love taking pictures.

I am not sure if this is Thursday, Friday morning. Don made us oatmeal for breakfast. Hey this is such a good breakfast. My dad use to say, oatmeal sticks to our ribs. I think he was trying to say, this is good for you and it will keep you warm. We use to live up in Webster, New York. Up there they have SNOW and COLDWEATHER.

Well we started out pulling up the stairs. This way, we know the stairs will be safe to walk on.

These steps have a over hang in the back of the kick plate. So we needed to sand down about 1" to 2" 1/4" (depth) so the board will slip in and we can screw it down.
We did look around at Home Depot, for something to make it easier to have the back of the step into the over hang. Rooter or something. like that.  But Don told me that he has a sander. Thinking why spend more money just for make the step fit?
So saving money is a good thing. The sander worked great and all is going together.

A couple of the steps, wood, has a small pieces of the lumber ripped off while moving it in place. So Don got out his glue and fixed them up.

As we were taking the old steps out. We left some nails in place. So Don got out his Dremel and he put a cutting blade on is and it cut the nails off flush on the lumber staying in place.

Before we put any new lumber down, Don stained the area under the new lumber. He is just trying to protect as much as he can.
Okay started pulling up the top deck.
We did have to make up 2 pieces of 4"x 4"x 41"  posts that hold the railing up.

This is Don's wife (Meg) She has been coming out to see what is going on and the neat thing is Don would ask her what she thinks about this and that. Here we needed to reinforce the bottom step. The reason is the way the post is mounted. We can not put a full board, step in place. So these is a small area on the bottom step that needed to be reinforce.

So this is the bottom step. Don needed to sand the back of the step so it would slide in place and screw is down..
Like I said before I have lost track of time while doing this job. So I am thinking now this is Saturday. The reason the next pictures that are coming up, is the Sunday Mass at Don and his wife Meg's church.

Folks this was a big job and Don and myself are getting up in age and thinking, WHY? would we do this job?
Oh well we started and we need to get it done by Tuesday that is coming up. So we did work late  most nights. Thinking around 6 to 7pm.
The real neat thing about this trip is I had a chance to spend some time with Don and his wife. Getting some what caught up on all that has been going on over the last three years or so. The reason I say three years. That was the last time I was up this  way.
I really am hoping and praying that they get a chance this fall or winter to spend some time with us here in Fort Pierce.
Folks as I am back home now, I have a few small jobs to get done. I will be trying to keep my blog some what up to date.

Well here is our project for the next couple of weeks.

As we are looking at the pouch, we need to pull this trap off and see what is needed. Don put this on a while back to try to protect the things under here. There is some rotted wood and needs to be replaced.

Okay now we can see what is needed. We started out pulling a couple of the stairs.

As we keep looking on the stairs, let us replace all of the them. The reason is why, down the road they will be needed to be replaced.
Meanwhile Don's neighbor is having a tree cut down and cleaned up.

Well there is two guys doing this job. Crazy. this is a BIG TREE, TALL TOO.

They through a couple of ropes around the top limbs and hooked them to the Bobcat/
So the guy started cutting and the bobcat was pulling on the top of the tree. The after the last cut the tree came crashing down.

Wow I was really surprised how well it went. I am thinking the worst. But is came down pretty straight no damage that we could see. Oh Don's tree on the side here lost a large limb and Don went over and talked with the guy. He told Don that he will trim his tree and make is look okay.

Her is when Don went over to talk with the guy.

After the tree came down more guys showed up and started cutting and trimming that tree.

After looking the porch over and over again. We decided to go to Home depot. Okay here at this Home Depot the cost is $43.??. Don didn't like how the lumber looked, This is 3/4" pressure treated plywood.
So we drove over to another Hoe Depot.

We noticed the price was $47+ at this Home depot, So Don need to get some to check on this. Which he found one of the assistant manger. She will make is right for us, at the cashier.
Well we need to have these boards cut, this way the cuts will be straight. So two sheets were cut 11.7/8" by the 8' I think this guy's name is Ben. He was pretty quiet and did a good job. We helped him unload and then load the lumber on the cart.

As we stand in line to pay for the things we need. I saw this sign. WHAT $.05 for each bag used.
Don explained that in Maryland, has banded  on plastic bags.
Well as we need to stop at different stores, The law is in place. Oh I goofed at a store called Gaint. We bought a couple of items and I put the items in a plastic bag, not thinking. Don had to pay $.05 on that bag.

We got back home after stopping at Popeyes. We both had the chicken sandwich and it tasted good.

You can see we pulled all the stairs off.
Now my buddy, Don painted the tops of the boards that hold the stairs in place.

So mean while we got the stairs ready for the next days work.
Okay my first day here we got a lot done.
I did loose track of time. We started around 11am and didn't end until 6 plus o'clock.
I look at this job and say praise Him, we have a idea on how this is going to get done.
So my prayers are to keep us safe and make is look good too.

Hey a day before I left for Baltimore.

As we have driven by here, on Hutchison Island. Not really seeing what this place was being rebuilt for. Jake, (Jeanne's son) was telling us that they opened and they service pizza. Well we have been talking about having pizza. So we told Jake that Monday after work we were going to The Pie Hole. Would he like to join us? He told his mom, sure and he was bring a friend.

When you first walk in you see this Shuffle Board set up. Hey I remember my dad taking me to a bar that always had one of these. I use to play it. It is free too.

We got here a little earlier than Jake did. So we sat down and looked over the menu.

Well I know what my baby wants, White Pie. I was happy with that. Jake and his friend Jeana, (sorry) I think? They ordered a large with pretty much everything on it. Oh we did order appetizer, meatball sliders. We talked about afterwards that the sliders were the ticket.

This is my baby's White pizza. Plus.

This is the one Jake ordered. This was every good. I enjoyed Jeanne's too. We only had one piece of each one.
Sat around and ate and just hung out for a while. Then we both had things to do afterwards.
At the end we brought both pizza's home. I know my baby has been eating them too, since I have been gone. I would love a piece right now. I am hungry this morning. Here at Don't home I have been eating, but this morning I see these pizza's, oh boy.
Okay by the weather man here, is telling us to is going to rain all day. I looked out a little while ago, it was just sprinkling a little. I think we can move on and work on the deck. I really want to get this done and I know he has a couple of other projects he wants to do.
So I hope everyone is doing their part in praying for out country and all that is going on.
I know watching the news here is not looking to good, our future???
BUT OUR LORD IS STILL LISTENING AND WANTING US TO CALL ON HIM.

On my way to see my old friend Don.

I left my house at 3 am and I made it here. The ride was wonderful and enjoyable.

As I sit herr waiting for the train, I thought why not put the back pack into the large black box. To make my walk easier to get to the bus and then the airport.

This is a happy thing to see. I use to ride this train every once and while. I would ride my bicycle to the train station. Hope on and take it south. Get where I want and ride form there.

This is a good palace to be. On the train. Now relax and enjoy.

They have gotten the larger buses now. Which works great for my bags and this large box. Maybe to are asking WHY the large box? Well I am going up to Baltimore to help my friend out (Don). he has a deck to rebuild and I enjoy using my Ryobi tools. That is pretty much what is in this box.

I know I got here early, which is a relief for me. I have this fear of being late and missing the plane. But i am here and just enjoying my relaxing time. Reading and doing my blog.

The plane was about half full.

This was my breakfast and very much enjoyed. Southwest is 50 years old. This is crazy isn't?

It did take a few minutes to get the bags and box.
I got out and Don came along and we are on our way.
He has a doctor appointment. So we left there and took a drive around and just get caught up on what is life handing us.

I left him at the doctor office, he gave me his truck and I took a ride to Dunkin Donuts. This is a great breakfast and lunch? Not really, but it did taste good.
Okay I made is safely here and we are on our way to get this deck repaired.
As we drive around I really did enjoy our time and just watching the hills and trees and different surrounds.
I just want to say thank you Lord for my trip and all that He has planned for us this time together.

Jeanne saw this place and had to stop.

This restaurant in on Rt. 60 heading from 95 to downtown Vero Beach. Autumn's Crab .  Walked in and sat down. Really kind of quiet for b...
