I think I bought this one at a mechanic's shop, Vero Vista Auto LLC. The husband Mark and his wife Marggie have been here for many years and he has worked on a few of our cars and trucks. he knows his way around the mechanic side of a vehicle. But every once and a while he sells cars and truck too. Well back in 2019 I was driving a Ford Ranger Edge 2004. But I started having troubles on it. First the engine started acting up and then the transmission went out. So meanwhile Mark had this 1998 Ford Ranger setting on his lot and not really too many older Rangers are around anymore. So, I needed a truck and I have always loved owning a Ranger. Hey looking back, I bought my first one in 1995. It was a 1988 Black one.
Okay enough looking back in history. So, I bought this white one 1998 for $3,000. Plus, Mark gave me $400. for my old Edge. This all happened in 2019. I did have some troubles with her, blew a head gasket and tried to repair it with Head Gasket repair. But it worked for a while and then tried again. I ended up buying a new (used) engine in 2025. Okay so now this little one is hurting now. #5 cylinder is miss firing. I have been told it's a head gasket, bad valve or something. I have been driving it now for over three weeks. It really was not to bad to drive. I get 45 to 55 it would shake some, but after that ran great. But the thought me driving it and breaking down and then what. Maybe have the engine worked on? Replace the engine again? NO more repairing it and fixing it and just trying to stay ahead.
Folks I am 74 years old and why deal with that? This might be my last vehicle. So, I started looking and shopping around and just trying to make sure this is of what God wants for me.
Jeanne and I went to Sunrise Ford and found a couple of Mavericks. Thinking stay with a smaller truck and that is pretty much all I needed. Plus, I really am not a rich man in wealth.
I AM VERY RICH IN ALL MY LORD JESUS CHRIST HAS GIVING ME.
I just need to be smart and wise on whatever I buy. So, thinking first buy new, warranty and it should last. OH, a biggie, HYBRID too. Have you seen the prices of gas???
Okay back to the story, I talked with Sean and he gave me a price on two of these trucks. I drove them and loved it and very excited too. BUT looking at the deal fees???
Hey I sold use cars for a little while back in 1976. I worked on commission back then there was
NO DEALER FEES. you came in and asked what they were wanting for the car or truck. Then you wheel and deal. You walked away with a what you thought was fair and were happy about it too.
But, now going online, It's a different world now.
Okay, I asked Sean for the paperwork and told him I need to think about it.
Meanwhile Jeanne and I went for a ride on Sunday after church and drove over to Vero Beach and checked out Mullinax Ford. Oh, they are closed on SUNDAY, which to me that was great to hear. Thinking their staff have off at least one day of the week. (thinking Christian)
Okay got there and walked around and just looked and saw a light blue Maverick Hybrid. Thinking we will be back on Monday afternoon and see what will happen.
Got there on Monday afternoon and looked around, NO LIGHT BLUE MAVERICK HYBRID. What??? So, Jeanne and I walked around, and test drove a dark gray one and kind of loved it. Talked with Jeanne's nephew Joe (finance guy). The saleswomen Shantill was off on Mondays. She is the young lady Jeanne bought her Bronce from in Aug 2025. So, Joe gave us a price on the Dark Gray one and we went home and talked it over.
Now I needed to make sure this is from God? Prayed and asked Him and if it all works out, I believe it's form Him.
Okay on Tuesday, Jeanne and I dropped off the Bronce for a couple of factory parts to be repaired. Wednesday afternoon, Jeanne and I came back to pick up the Bronce. Meanwhile, I walked around and saw another light blue Maverick Hybrid. Walked in and saw Shantill and asked about the light blue Maverick? Yes, it just came in last night. Is it for sale? YES, thank you Lord for my answered prayers.
I am very blessed and happy that He provided this little truck JUST FOR ME. Thank you, Jesus Christ.
Okay I got a few discounts and that even sweeten the deal even better.
Folks I have been driving this little truck now for 6 days and when I picked it up and take home the est milage was at 322 miles.
You can see I have driven 84.1 miles since I picked it up. LOOK AT THE EST MILAGE 372 MILES.
I only drove from West Marine. 3 miles away. 63.7 MPG. I know this is not a fact, but I look at the mpg milage it has seemed I am averaging 46 MPG.
Folks I know sometimes it seems to be good to be true.
But I know that our Lord loves us and just wants us to talk with Him each and every day and we need to be reading our Bibles too.
God does talk to us; we need to be listening too.
I really pray that if you have not received Jesus Christ as your SAVOR.
PLEASE ASK HIM INTO YOUR HEART.
The way this world is going is coming back and it could be today????
