Like to share what is on my heart.

I am very sad about Betsy passing away on Thursday. I loved her very much. She is the one that took care of our mom and my dad, for those many years. She was there when ever needed. She cleaned and keep the house in some what order. She had her hands full after my dad passed away in 2002. The reason I say this is she loved him very much too and she really use to get depressed duirng these times. I know Betsy tried her hardness to help her and make sure she was taken care of each and everyday.
After mom's passing, Betsy really had some troubles letting her go. I know when we talked about her, I saw her face become very sad. She loved her very much too.
My last time I saw Betsy, she was not doing to good. She had some surgry done on her legs. She was having trouble just walking around after that happen. Then about three months ago, Lenny called me and told me that she was in the hospial and not doing to well. During this time I really could not get away. Camp groups started coming in. It really was a excuse for me not to deal with it. When I saw her last time. I saw the pain she was in and how she could not even walk around. I know Lenny did the best he could helping her and getting her places she needed to get to. Lenny loved her very much and I know he did his best to make sure she was getting the best care. He would write to me and tell me how she was doing. So like I told you, I could not get away.
So I asked a good freind of mine back in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. I asked her if she would be able to visit my sister? She told me that she would love to help me out and just have a little time spending with her. Betsy did know who she was. The reason is I have told Betsy and Lenny about Rose, she has been a good friend for many years and every time I get to town we have dinner and a movie. It really nice to just sit around and have a nice time with her.
So Rose went and visited her and, she told me that the time with Betsy was really nice and that Betsy understood her too. You know by squessing hands and just looking into each other eyes. Rose walk away and told me all about her time with her. It really was nice to have someone to call on and ask for a favor and know it was God's plan. I do remember one thing Rose told me, that Betsy had the most beautiful Blue Eyes. I do remember that very much.
Okay where am I going with all of this? Well I have been asking people when is the funeral? Maybe I would like to see the family again? Yesterday I got a phone call from one of my neices, Kathy. She called and told me that she just came back from the funeral and it was very moving. She told me that there was a lot of crying and Lenny was not doing to well. I knew Lenny loved her and he pretty much had this all planed out. It is hard to loose the one you love and have to get things in order. The Lord had the people He wanted there and that is pretty much answered prayer for me. Plus
Read Jeremiah 16:5 to 7. This is God telling Jeremiah not to go to any funeral. God is so neat. That was my reading for this morning. I am reading through the Bible in a year.
I know she is with Him and there is no more pain or anything wrong with her now. Plus I know I will see her again.

When I say I am a CHRISTIAN MEANS THIS

When I say that "I am a Christian," I am not shouting that I am clean living. I'm whispering, "I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven."

When I say "I am a Christian," I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say "I am a Christian," I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say "I am a Christian," I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say "I am a Christian," I'm not claiming to be perfect. My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.

When I say "I am a Christian," I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say "I am a Christian," I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow!

Today is Beautiful Christian Person's Day.
Pretty is as Pretty does but, Beautiful is just plain Beautiful.
If you share this with other people, they will know you care about them!

I have some sad news.

The World bus NOW has a broken passage wind shield.
The three trucks below,
Toyota- Needs a new alternator
Red Ford has a power steering leak.
The Hyd needs a new muffler
Remember the Delh, still needs some wiring
John Deere is still not running.
I know there is more to do, but right now today is my day off. I will go to church and praise His name.
Kevin is going back to Camp Bahamas. at 3pm. So the rest of today is MINE. Maybe.

Try to explan signs below

Like I said above, TRY to explain signs below.
1) Out Islands, should it be Outer Island. This the booklet you get on line while looking for things to do on the other islands.
2) Storage, Is it used or not?
3) Parking Marking? This is to paint your parking lot?
4) Shuttle and Parking. The lot doesn't have a opening?
These signs I found just yesterday. Driving down town to get some parts. Plus on the web page of the Bahamas site. I am looking for sometime off. I am going to ask my Sunday School class if they might know of someone that would give me a break on rates, on one of the OUT ISLANDS. Say a prayer or two, I need some time off and just want to get away from people. I really think this would be a great time and maybe I will really relax? Maybe not?

I love signs and love to share them.

What was yesterday?

July 20th 1969:
That is the day we first landed on the MOON. That is right, I was looking at my calendar and saw Moon landing? It has been 42 years since they did that and look how far we have come with all of the tings in space. I know there is a lot of junk up there too. But I remember President JFK. asked if we could be on the moon by the end of that decade? It happen I believe it did happen. I have seen stories about how it was all a big show at a movie site. I really don't believe that in a minute. If you do, that is what you think happen. I really think we went there and back many times. The sad part is how narrow people think and how much fear they have of our USA. I know USA, has done somethings we are not proud of. But looking back at all we have done. and How far we have come.
Now looking at what has been going on here (Bahamas). They are only 38 years old and have a ways to go. USA has been free since, 1776, (235 years).
I know that our Lord Jesus Christ is still running the show. That is a GOOD TING.

I got this from a friend here.

Just copy the web page below and put it on the web site you use.
You will see a guy sitting there. Take the cursor and try to touch his nose. I have tried every way, he hits it every time. Just a time to laugh. You all know how much I love to laugh. Like I told you guys a couple of days ago. I needed to and I do, when ever I get a chance.

The song "Alejandro", by Lady Gaga

Very subtly the devil sneaks into our lives to steal and destroy souls!

We don't even realize that just by singing the lyrics of a seemingly
'innocent' song with a nice tune, we open the door wider for his evil
spirit!!

'Alejandro' means: man's defender and protector' (GOD).
'Fernando' means: ardent for peace (JESUS).
'Roberto' means: bright or shiningly framed (HOLY SPIRIT).

'Babe' is the same as 'child'

Now the lyrics:
Don't call my name; don't call my name, Alejandro(GOD).I'm not your child,
i'm not your child, Fernando (JESUS). Don't call my name; don't call my
name, Roberto (HOLY SPIRIT) Alejandro; Alejandro (GOD), Just let me go."
People, please stop listening to Lady Gaga! Real name Stefani Joanne
Angelina Germanotta. She sold her soul to the devil for fame and fortune,
suddenly having 8 million followers on Twitter; top selling artist, and the
top winner at the Grammys. This is clearly the devil at work!
Remember the images with her inside the egg carried on a cross? Hatching
from an egg signifies the cold blooded rebirth. Implanted horns on her
shoulders and cheek bone indicating the transformed BRIDE OF SATAN! (Save a
soul and pass this on)
I received it, and I've passed it on.

They sure know how to load up a truck?

This group is from Dallas and 4 are from Vermont

Remember last month that bluiding that was on fire?

Folks I have a couple of jokes below. I hope you laugh as much as I needed to.

Like to share yesterday with you. It is like the joke below this story.
First ting yesterday, I needed to replace a peice of 3/8 copper pipe for the dryer. The pipe I was using was old and needed to be sanded. Which I did. Now the pipe is to small to be held by the flaring tool.
I then went to the police station to get a police report for my new work permit. The girl there told me she was out of recipes. come back next week.
I called a place here that I dropped off our alternator (bus) to get repaired. They told me it was fixed and cost $93.00. great. I took the other one off of the bus that I need to drive.I have been charging the battery every night before I go to bed. This alternator not charging too. When I get back I can put the new one on and get this one repaired too. So I left ALC and stopped by to check on something for a friend here, he needed. They didn't have the right size box. So I drove over to Bay Street Garage to pick up my alternator. It was 1:10pm. The sign on the gate said closed for lunch. 1 to 2pm closed for lunch.
I thought to myself, maybe I should drive around a little to pass the time. Then I remember I needed to pick up the group. I would have to leave around 2:15pm to pick them up.
While driving back I got a call from Eric. He tells me that a kid broke off a pipe that goes to the bathroom. I told him how to turn it off. After a couple of minutes he got it off.
I know I am forgetting something else. But you think you had a rough day. Raining cats and dogs too.
Oh that is the power was turned off at the Camp and Centre. I am thinking how are we going to take showers, cook dinner. You know how is this all going to happen? I know I have a generator there. But have had some troubles getting it to run.
Got back and power was on. Thank you Jesus for my day and Your love.

Here is another JOKE

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

"Well, whatcha' gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.

"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can`t stand to see a man crying."

"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man and then my dog bit me."

"So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; then you show up and drink the whole thing!

But enough about me, how's your day going?

Lipstick in Catholic School JOKE, REMEMBER JOKE

*According to a news report, a certain private Catholic school was**
*recently faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls*
*were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom.*
*That was fine provided it was of a natural or neutral skin tone, but*
*after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the*
*mirror***leaving dozens of little lip prints*.

*Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the next day**
*the girls would put them back.*

*Finally the principal, Sister Paschal, decided that something had to*
*be done. She called all the girls to the bathroom and met them there with*
*the maintenance man. She explained that all these lip prints were
causing a*
*major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night*
*(you can just imagine the yawns from the little princesses). To
demonstrate*
*how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, Sister Paschal asked the*
*maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.*

*He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and*
*cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints
on the mirror**. *

Here is how my sister is doing

Yesterday a friend of mine (Rose) went and visited Betsy (step sister) She has been in the hospital now for over a couple of months. She had some work done on her legs. After that she has been very sick. Not sure all that has happen? But when I was in town a while back she told me that after the work on her legs, she has not been feeling well. So right after my visit. Lenny her hubby took her in and she has been there ever since. She was in ICU for a while. But she has her own room and she is still on a breathing machine. The reason I know all this is a good friend of mine went and saw her and she wrote back and shared on what happen.
It is so nice to know that having a friend that is willing to visit someone she doesn't even know is a blessing for me. i know Rose told me that she was blessed even more by having that time to spend with her. By the e mail Rose wrote me. She was telling me how she was looking, her color was good and her skin was warm, but she has this tube down her throat so she can breath. Betsy could not speak. But Rose shared with her and told her how much I love her and she had a big smile on her face. Rose even talked about Scooby. Betsy just smiled.
Lord you know what is going on with Betsy, my prayer is to heal her. I ask let Your will be done.

Hello all,

Hey another week has passed by. I was blessed this week to know that the Gehl will be up and ruining after I redo some of the wiring. It should be a easy thing????? We will see what He has planned out.
It is Sunday the 17th. I have one more group coming in at 12:20pm today. There will be 36 people on this one. I think they will be working at the Boy's and Girl's correction homes. You know painting and fixing places up a little. I look at them coming and say WHY help them out? They have more people there that could do the work that is needed. But now I think this is a great time to see God's hand show and share their time with these kids. That right they are kids. Not sure of the ages. But I think 12 to 18, it could be lower.
Then there will be a group coming in on August 9th to the 16th 2011. This group just e mailed me and ask me some questions on their time here. I think one that I can not answer as of today. Will there be a cook for them? Linda has been cooking for us during our times while people stayed here. She will be starting a new job in two weeks. I think she has a couple of days this next week finding out more about her job. You know orientation. We will see what happens. I have a couple of people that are willing to help out this week ahead. But after that not sure what will happen. There is Miss Ada, she does the cooking for the ALC during the school year and even during the Summer Camp that will end next week. We will see what happens. He is in control and that is all I need to know.
That is something I am learning each day here. He runs the show, not me or any one else. That to me is COMFORT.

Knock, Knock.

Knock, Knock I knocked at heaven's door this morning. God asked
me....'My child, what can I do for you?' And I said, 'Father, please
protect and bless the person reading this message.' God smiled and
answered...'Request granted'.

A mintue read think about this everyday.

As I was walking Down life's highway Many years ago

I came upon a Sign that read

Heavens Grocery Store..

When I got a Little closer

The doors swung Open wide

And when I came To myself

I was standing Inside..

I saw a host of Angels.

They were Standing everywhere

One handed me a Basket And said 'My Child shop with care..'

Everything a Human needed Was in that Grocery store

And what you Could not carry You could come Back for more

First I got some Patience. Love was in that Same row.

Further down was Understanding, You need that Everywhere you go..

I got a box or Two of Wisdom And Faith a bag Or two.

And Charity of Course I would need some Of that too..

I couldn't miss The Holy Ghost It was all over The place.

And then some Strength And Courage to Help me run this race.

My basket was Getting full But I remembered I needed Grace,

And then I chose Salvation for Salvation was for Free

I tried to get Enough of that to do For you and me..

Then I started to The counter To pay my grocery Bill,

For I thought I Had everything To do the Masters Will.

As I went up the Aisle I saw Prayer and Put that in,

For I knew when I Stepped outside I would run into Sin.

Peace and Joy Were plentiful,The last things On the shelf.

Song and Praise Were hanging near So I just helped Myself.

Then I said to The angel

'Now how much do I owe?'

He smiled and Said

'Just take them Everywhere you go.'

Again I asked' Really now,

How much do I Owe?'

'My child' he Said, 'God paid your bill A long long time Ago.'

This poem has Been sent to you With love and for Blessings.

Do you know it is Friday

This last week was one to say we fixed something. Yes Tim and Jeff came in on Tuesday and pulled the bucket hoses off of the Gehl. During that time Jeff was under the hood and Tim was his helper. They got the hoses off. Then Wednesday I went down to Richard's place to have him replace them. He didn't have the right size for me. He told me to go to Cat dealer. Got there and they gave me a bill for $338.38. Now to me that was a lot more than I thought it should cost. The hoses were 22" each with fitting on each end. So I called Richard and he told me remember you are at a dealership, that will cost a lot more than is should. Well I go the hoses back and yesterday Jeff put them on. We put in two five gallon pails of Hyd oil. It should start up and it didn't. Open the back end up. Found a couple of wires loose. Worked on it a while still nothing. I took all 4 wires and taped them together. It ran. That is great news. Check to see if there are any leaks. No not one. Go to turn it off. The key is off, but it is still running. Pulled the wires apart. Okay now. This next week I will work on the wiring. I am so happy to see this machine up and ruining again. The John Deere is still down and hopefully I will work on that next week too.
These three groups will be leaving tomorrow. Today is their fun day at the Straw Market, then beach time too. There flights are starting at 7am tomorrow. Then one group is staying at a hotel for one night. I will take them next around 9am. The last group at 11:00 am. It all works out great times. No rushing around. Drive drop off and come back drive drop off and then one more drive and drop off.
Sunday schedule is one group comes in at 11:00 am, then the next is at 12:20pm. first group is small,(4) Nate told me he would pick them up. I only need the large bus to pick up the next group of 32. Then we start all over again during the week.

I have some GOOD NEWS Gehl is up and running.

Dog humor for the day

A WOMAN was flying from Melbourne to Brisbane .Unexpectedly, the
plane was diverted to Sydney
Along the way. The flight attendant explained that There would be a
delay, and if the passengers wanted
To get off the aircraft the plane would re-board In 50 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was Blind. A man had
noticed her as he walked by and
Could tell the lady was blind because her Guide Dog lay quietly
underneath the seats in front of her
Throughout the entire flight.

He could also tell she had flown this very flight before, Because the
pilot approached her, and calling her by
Name, said, 'Kathy, we are in Sydney for almost an hour. Would you
like to get off and stretch your legs?'
The blind lady replied, 'No thanks, but maybe *Buddy *would Like to
stretch his legs.'
*_
Picture this:
_*All the people in the gate area came to a complete stand still
When they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane
With a Guide dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses.

People scattered.

*_They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to
change airlines!
_**
True story... Have a great day and remember...

Police Stop. at 1 am

An elderly man is stopped by the police around 1 am and is asked where
he is going at this time of night.

The man replies, "I am going to a lecture about alcohol abuse and the
effects it has on the human body."

The officer then asks, "Really? Who is giving that lecture at this
time of night?"

The man replies, "That would be my wife."

The Word of the Lord this morning

I just had a great time with our Lord in His Word. I know I have been asking for prayer and I can see you all have been praying. The reason is this morning time with Him. Showed me a encouraging Word, which every day He does. But some day more than others. I have been reading through the Bible every day for the last 5 years. So I have read this before and sometime you need to read it again and again. Here is just 2 verses that spoke loud to me today.
Isiah 41:8 to 10 (NLT)
The verse is on the first page of my Bible, the reason I say that. I just looked at what kind of Bible I am using and Isiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fade, BUT The Word o OUR GOD stands FOREVER.
Isiah 41: 8to 10
But as you , Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from my friend Abraham. I have called YOU back from the ends of the earth so YOU can serve ME. For I have chosen YOU and will NOT throw YOU away. Don't be afraid for I am with YOU. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will STRENGTHEN YOU. I will HELP YOU. I will UPHOLD YOU with MY VICTORIOUS RIGHT HAND.

This is group #4

It has been one of those weeks

Hey everyone, I just want to say hello and let you all know how this week went. There was three different groups in at once here at the Camp. One of them worked at a church and the other put a roof on at Anna's home. Then the last group helped out at ALC Summer Camp program.
Well the first ones, laid some concrete and put up a wood frame for a class room at Basel's church downtown. Looks good.
Then #2 group put a roof on Anna's home and did some inside work too.
#3 I heard they did well with the kids and the staff was some what relaxed, the reason was this group was in control of the whole week. So our staff just had to be there to help in any way they could.
Over all my week went well too.
The cement mixer, had two flat tyres, two different times.
The World bus is still having trouble with the charging system. I put a other alternator in and it was over charging. So I took it apart to change the settings, Then found out it didn't help at all. So I reset it now it doesn't work at all.
Folks it sure has been a rough road, but He has been praise through it all.
Today, I have a broken water line on the RO unit, The Ford is broken down at Linda' s home, The Hydundal is over heating, The John Deere is still down, The Gelh has a broke hyd line.
So guess what I will be doing today, NOTHING, It is our day off. Now I will fix the water line and maybe something else. But over all, NOTHING ELSE, PRAYERFULLY.
We are having a church day at the beach today and I hope to get over there and spend a little time. Plus I know Scooby would like that too.

This is the group that was here July 3 to 9th 2011

This is long BUT GOOD

The Green Thing

In the line at the store, the cashier told an older woman that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.

The woman apologized to him and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day."

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment."

He was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks.

But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day.

Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry the clothes. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that old lady is right; we didn't have the green thing back in our day.

Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana .

In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us.

When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right; we didn't have the green thing back then.

We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water.

We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull.

But we didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service.

We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then?

Please forward this on to another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smartass young person.

Now remember this is a joke.It could be gray haired people too

The Bus Ride

Two bowling teams, one of all Blondes and one of all Brunettes, charter a double-Decker bus for a weekend
trip to Louisiana.

The Brunette team rode on the bottom of the bus and
the Blonde team rode on the top level.

The Brunette team down below really whooped it up,
having a great time, when one of them realized she
hadn't heard anything from the Blondes upstairs. She
decided to go up and investigate.

When the Brunette reached the top, she found all the
Blondes in fear, staring straight ahead at the road,
clutching the seats in front of them with white knuckles.
The brunette asked, 'What the heck's going on up here?
We're having a great time downstairs!'

One of the Blondes looked up at her, swallowed hard
and whispered ...

'YEAH, BUT YOU'VE GOT A DRIVER!

This is about Bananas Yes check it out.

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!
This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again..
Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.
Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.
Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips... Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady..

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan..

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance.. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time! I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth Amazing fruit !!!

HAPPY 4th OF JULY TO ALL MY USA FRIENDS

It is so neat to look back and see that we are celebrating 235 years as a free country. Yes we have been free for 235 years. I look to this country (Bahamas) and say, they have only had theirs since 1973. That is only 38 years. I know USA has done so much since we have had ours, freedom. I can see how it started out. It must have been a rough road for most of those years. Like here, I see in this last year or so. The government has been trying to improve the water, electric and roads. They pretty much have torn up every main road here. But in the next 6 months or so. We will have new stuff. I really am looking forward in see that. If you have ever been here you know what I am talking about. I know the Bahamian people are getting more up set everyday. The reason is, which road is closed today? But in the end we will be so thankful.
Hey people that are close to my age (59) Do you remember what you were doing on the 4th of July in 1976? I sure do. I was married to a wonderful woman (Cheryl) We watch the fire works go off from our apartment in Cleveland, Ohio. Plus watched them on TV from New York City. Before that time I remember talking with room mates I was living with in Mich. They were telling me that during 1976 4th they would be in Philadelphia Pa. That was the place to be at. Where all this started 1776.
Okay enough looking back. Now today we can say we have been free for those 235 years. Thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember this country was based on His WORD and we should be proud of that today.

Okay a recap of this last week,PLUS

Yes folks another week has gone by. This group will be leaving today at 1:10pm. So if you think of them, say a prayer for their return home. They really did a lot of work at the house below. This place is called Anna's home, she has 11 kids and her hands full. So Mission Discovery has taken on this project for her. They started this almost three years ago. There has really not been that many people work on this since the last Mission Discovery was here last year. By looking at the pictures below you can see they put on the peaks and plywood and even tar papered it. Looks great and next week another group will be working there too.
The truck driving down the road, is something you see every day around here. The price of steel and all other metals have gone up so much and people are digging up old stuff they buried many years ago and now they don't have to hind the junk. So over all the island is getting cleaned up.
Then the last picture is of our Bahamas Independence Pride Day. This is always the week before our July 10th Independence's Day itself. They closed the main road going thru down town. Put up a couple of large tents and just have people coming in and sit and watch all kinds of things that were planned for the day. Today there is a concert. Plus other tings going on down town. Good day to go see every thing. But I am staying home and resting for the next set of groups coming in. That right I said GROUPS. There is two from Mission Discovery, then another group here to helps us at the ALC Summer Camp next week. I will keep you all inform.

Take a look at this, Try driving like this in the states?
