This is AWESOME.... something we should all remember.

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each  morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably combed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today.
His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After  many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description  of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.  I love it,' he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just  been presented with a new puppy.
Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait.'
'That doesn't have anything to do with it,' he replied.
Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time.
Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is  arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it.  'It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice;  I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful  for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day  and all the happy memories I've stored away.. Just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank  account of memories!
Thank you for your part in filling my Memory Bank.  I am still depositing.
'Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Have a nice day, unless you already have other plans.

Thank you Walter for this beautiful way to look at life.

Friday was a busy day at Calvary.

As our day was winding down. We had a chance to say good bye to someone I have known for many years. Her name is Mary Ann. She has been planing this for a while, retirement. As I have worked here for these many years, I have seen many people come and go. But it is still bitter sweet thing. You work along side of someone like Mary Ann and get to know the a little better each day, it is sad to say good bye. But as she was telling us, it is what she believes God has shown her and we all want to be in His will.

As I was leaving the service last night. I saw this beautiful sky line and said wow. I need to get a shot of that. But as the sun was setting very fast, I just could get this close. It was still beautiful.

Had a couple of thnigs going on yesterday

This was our Men's Bible study. They meet once a month, last Friday of the month. Yesterday was a gentleman named Ron. I am sorry I didn't get his last name. but I had a chance to hear about his life. Pretty much it all came down to what he is doing now. Not how he made his money or all the great things he has done in his life. Him and his wife work with students and grow ups that are dealing with people that want to kill themselves. How to work through it and how to help the ones that are willing to do it too. It is sad of the stories we hear about on the news and friends and family that have had to deal with such things. His son was willing to do such a thing. So these people have first hand knowledge of it. I am sorry to say I had to go back to work, so I didn't hear the end of the story.

This was our Last Day of VBS. Hey the week flew by and the results was fantastic. Hey there was around 600 children here for this week and boy they had so much to do and fun. Sometimes I look on and say, This is a lot of work for one week. But at the end it really does pay off to see these kids eyes pop open and say wow that was so much fun and how did we do this? It was by His grace and love we have for the children As our day was winding down. The parents came in at the end and had a chance to see just a little of what the students were part of. Boy they sure filled up the theater too.
So right after this, we as staff and the students leaders had to put this place back together again. Which I had a chance to be part of. It was so neat to see how many students leaders stayed to help us break down. From 1:00 to 3:30pm this place was some what back to normal. The real funny part was it took us over a week to set everything up and make sure it was ready for them on Monday.
I am so happy I had a chance to be part of this last week and like I said before to see their smiling faces each and to hear they just being kids.

Had another wonderful bicycle ride

This place is called Aldi. I heard about this grocery store form a coworker a couple of days ago. He was telling me that they really have some god deals there. So as I was riding around, I saw it and said why not check it out. Plus I was needed some more water to drink too.

Walk in and saw their ad.Wow their prices are better on a lot of items. If you have not known by now, I shop pretty much every time at Walmart. It is just around the corner from my place and I believe I do get good prices overall. Now there is a Publixs right across street from where I live. But their stories are very clean and the people are friendlier. The price is a killer.

\
Lets look at pickles. Now the Walart brand sell for $1.88 some like that.

Hey this is kinda neat looking. Since I have been making smoothies everyday. I eat as much fresh fruit as I can. The frozen is a lot easier to mix up. The reason is I don't have to cut it up and put it in different baggies. But the flavor is so much better fresh. I have been hearing that for many years. But it is true. There is so much better flavor from fresh fruit has. So I have been buying pineapples at Walmart for $2.00. Then I get home and have to cut them up. It really is not that big of a deal. But maybe this would save me 2 to 3 minutes??? Or not???

have been trying to find different prices on plastic table for work.

Now like this game above. I built two sets of these for the Summer camp or Fun day, for Sam. She saw this on line and said, can we build this? So I had the PVC already and put it together and they have them now. This game is really a lot of fun.

A while back a camp group at the ALC built us two sets of, they called it Corn Hole. So look here these are something easy to put away and store. The ones they built are heavy and large. Take up a lot of space.

Josh a guy I work with, has been telling me how he another guy go play Disc Golf. Wow. If we bought 9 of these for Calvary. Maybe we can have our golf course?

I just love watching trains.Hey when I was a kid, not just a couple of days ago? But much younger. My dad and mom bought me a Lionel Train. So when I see one drive pass. I just stop and say wow. You know in some things we really never grow out of?
Had a wonderful ride. Got home and dead. Not really.

First day of Vacation Bible School at Calvary.

They are rehearsing for this afternoon's ending.

These are the over seers, called Climbers. They are the ones that really work right along side the students.

They are listening to Jesus (Spanish guy). He is sharing one of stories of Elijah. 1 Kings 17:1 7. This is when he was running away and God told him to go to the Kerith Brook and wait there.

So after he tells the first part of the story. The panel are opened by leaders and the children walk into the other part of the room. Here you see the brook. Then Jesus shared how God provided for him with food that ravens brought to him. Plus drink out of the brook.

This is where they got their snacks

At the end all the students come into the Theater and here is where things wind down for the day. After this all the students are done for the day and the parents come and we get to do it again tomorrow. Which is today.
Over all with this many students and leaders, I believe it was a great day and I know both the leaders and students had a lot of fun.
Say a prayer or two for the remained of this week for both groups.

I got a wonderful phone call yesterday

Yes Kevin called me and wished me a Happy Father's Day. That was so neat. I was at work but we talked for about ten Minutes or so. Wow he has been looking for work for many months and it sounds like God has found favor on him. There is this development called Albany. He told me that he has a couple of inter views and it might be the ticket he has been looking for. We will see what happens. But is sure was good to hear his voice and just get some what caught up. The family is still doing their ting and pretty much all is going okay.
I was very pleased to hear from him and just know that he called me to wish me a happy day. I am very blessed. Please if you think about him, say a prayer or two.

This is a good friend of mine, Eddie

I guess during the Memorial Week-end he had this picture taken. I have known him now for 9 years or maybe more. Eddie first came to the ALC. We use to cook and be the clean up guy at the camp. The one thing I remember the most was how he always was willing to serve. When we both lived there. I remember him coming up to my door and asking if I was hungry? Then about five minutes later he would be back with a plate of pancakes and fried bologna. That was his trade mark. He thought everyone loved bologna and he would cook up so much, have left overs every time.

He would even tray to find cheaper stuff to save us money at the ALC Camp. Eddie is a one of a kind guy. We is always been there to help cook.

I guess this is when he had his first Communion?
Well I am looking forward in going up to see him during this summer time. So keep looking, I am not sure when, but there will be a when.
May you look on this day and say thank you Lord for people like him.

Friday, June 19, 2015

Hey I found a old friend of mine.

These were the meats I use to buy when I lived in Nassau. The only reason was, they were the cheapest. You look at them at Walmart and they are even cheaper.
I think I use to spend like $3.59 for a package of this bologna. Oh one thing it was Beef too. Not the chicken parts.

Wow, see what  $1.00 can buy?

Okay I was sharing yesterday about our VBS program getting ready to happen next week. Well this is the flyier they used to let people know about it. So now you can see what the children will be learning about this next week.

Hey I want to go.

It is Summer Time for the children around the world.

This is on the 3rd floor of our building called Discipleship Building. Well the staff that is part of Family Ministry is getting thing in order for our one week of VBS. Some folks don't know what that stands for. It is Vacation Bible School. Almost every Christian school or even churches do something  like this each Summer. We at Calvary Bible (Nassau, Bahamas)  will be doing one too. It is a lot of hard work to make it happen. But it is all worth it at the end. I know from pass times how much the children look forward in being there and just having that time. During this next week. The children will be the mountains. So I really not sure all that will be happening here. I will be popping in and out and just checking it out. On Sunday we as a staff will be ready to get this show on the road and wow. I will keep you all posted and try to share pictures and stories about what they are doing.
Pleas if you think about any one of these VBS's. This is a great time for children to hear God's Word and to be able to except it and become Christians. So please keep them in prayer and let us see what God has in store for every one that is part of these camps. I know this next week at the Adventure Learning Centre back in Nassau. They will be kicking off their VBS Summer Camp. That will go for six (6) weeks. During their time there, they will be going on field trips and pretty much hang out all day there. The parents drop them off by 8 am and pick them back up at 4 pm. Now that will cost a little more there. I think around $75.00 for the week. That includes lunch, trips to different places on the island. I know for shear they will be going to Goodman Beach i is on the north side of the island. The reason I know I use to drive them there and stay for those couple of ours and just enjoy watching them play in the water and just hang out. Plus they all get a  t shirts and I know it will worth it each time. The reason some of these children come back to help us there and  love sharing their stories with us. So please keep these kids in prayer and let them just have a wonderful Summer.

If you want to see a tear jerkier, here you go.

Yesterday I had such a some what rough day. At first it was wonderful. But as the day went on I was getting up set. Not going to get into it. But at the end of it I went and saw this movie at Wynmoor. Was not a good one to see when I felt this way. But I did and boy it really makes you think about our lives and how we all want good endings. Please this movie really tugs on your heart and feelings. So if you are dealing with a relationship (good one) great movie to see.
I know He has a plan for me, I just want it now. I am such a spoiled brat sometimes. (maybe most of the time)

The Summer as started.

These children are out staff members kids. During the school year and this time. We have staff to take care of them during the business hours here at the church. It really is a great place to work. Okay the children out outside playing in the water.

It starts to rain and where did the kids go?

This room is getting ready for VBS. Yes our church does VBS every year and it only cost $15.00 for the whole week. So as you see these students are here to make this place look like in the mountains. The program is called Evenest Adventures.

These are some more panels that are needed to be put up. They are going all around the whole classroom. It really will be beautiful when they finish. I will take a some more pictures then. The VBS starts next week. So there is many things that are needed to get done before it happens. I was on call yesterday for what ever was needed of my skills or help. But, I went to see Jon ad least four times and he was in good shape. So my day was a long one. You know, when you have a lot of stuff to do. The day flies by, but not yesterday. I found stuff to do.

This is our young lady named Priscilla. I have shared pictures of her before. But I really thought this one was pretty neat, how she is standing and like posing. Josh was trying to feed her and she was not in a good mood. Not sure why, but she really doesn't like us picking her up. She got so bold that she jumped out of the cage. Josh had quick reflex and caught her as she jumped. It really was kinda of neat to see him grab her so fast. he was telling me afterwards how he didn't even think about grabbing her. Most time when Josh picks her up, he wears gloves, the reason is her nails are long and shape. But no harm done.

Jeanne saw this place and had to stop.

This restaurant in on Rt. 60 heading from 95 to downtown Vero Beach. Autumn's Crab .  Walked in and sat down. Really kind of quiet for b...
