Folks, my wife read this to me and I said, must post this. Enjoy. Oh, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years.

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college.  Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be very liberal, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.

She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch conservative, a feeling she openly expressed.  Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.

One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs.  The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father.  He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew.  She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.

Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"  She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies and she barely has a 2.0 GPA.  She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast.  She's always invited to all the parties and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."

Her father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0.  That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That's a crazy idea, how would that be fair!  I've worked really hard for my grades!  I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work!  Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree.  She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the conservative side of the fence."

If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.  A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him..

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.  Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.  A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and Jesus silenced.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it..  A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative reads this, he'll post it.  A liberal will delete it because he's "offended."

Nov. 30th 2023, Jeanne and her class had a chance to share on what we do at Westwood Culinary Class.

I have never heard schools doing this, but I guess they have been doing it for many years. They are trying to draw in the smarter students. I guess 8th graders are tester and when the test results are released. The county sends out invitations to the smarter ones, to come to this Attractor Event.

So, my wife asked a few students from her classes to come help us. Well, the week before this was happening, she had all of her classes make up cupcakes for this event. So, as you look on here, the students are putting the finishing touches on the cupcakes. Thye are putting the fostering on them.

Before the event started, all the parents and students were invited to listen to the School Subtended. She explained what this was about. Plus, a slide show talking about each school gifted classes.

This is the school my wife works at. Westwood Academy Prep Magnet School.

The gentlemen speaking is Principal Alonzo. He just was telling about all the neat things we do here at Westwood. After the four principals spoke all the parents and student were invited to go to each room and see what everyone has available.

The table behind our students were making chocolate coated pretzels. Plus, cupcakes that they frosted before everyone came in. It was a hit, I think, almost everyone that came into our room, came over and got a cupcake and pretzels.

Around 7pm the crowds were thinning out.

The students that serviced the cupcakes and pretzels were telling parents and students that came up about the Culinary Department at Westwood. My little girl was so helpful on explaining her program and all what her students do. Jeanne loves her job, ministry.

I think the horse's name is Misty. She was a big a hit too. I think everyone was surprised to see a miniature horse before.  I kept hearing folks saying look at the pony.
Folks it was a wonderful evening and Jeanne, and I were very tried and ready to get home. We took a couple of students back to their homes. They needed a ride home.
We are very blessed to have students that enjoy helping us out and they get Community Hours for helping too.
Well, today is Sunday Dec. 3rd already. Crazy how fast the time is going. We will be going to church this morning and hopefully we can get a couple of things done at home today.
As I try to read the Bible every morning, I am in Psalms now. Today was Psalms 107/108. 107 is about how the people (Israelites) would sin and then cry out to The Lord and He would satisfy their needs.
How many times do we do stupid things and then realized that we were doing it. It's called sin.
Our pastor was talking about this last Sunday. But we as Christians we are forgiven, already.
So, whatever you have done in your past or just a couple of minutes ago, we are forgiven. Do you understand how much He loves us? He is so wonderful.

On Saturday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, I got a call from Debbie across the street from us. Asking if I know anyone that would like a refrigerator? She told me that everything works on it. Jeanne overheard the conversion. She told me that we need that frig. So afterwards we talked about it and it makes since. The one in back is smaller. We need more room for bait (freezer) and for drinks. (Pop), So, Kaden was sitting in the living room and I asked him for his help. So, we climber into the Ranger and drove over to Chris's house first. I needed to pour this Copper Sulfate (chemical) into the septic tank there. There is a bunch of roots in the tank and causing the system to back up. So, this Cooper Sulfate I guess eat up the roots and there are no more. Then we went over to Debbie' house and picked up the refrigerator. I backed up and pushed it into the Ranger. Came home and let is sit there until I take it to the scrape yard.

We all went out for dinner on Saturday evening. Went to a place called Chuck's Seafood. This place is very nice but the cost is there too. If you look closely, See MARKET PRICE on a lot of items here.

Kerry and her hubby (Mark) wanted to take us out for dinner. So, Jeanne and her were talking and they came up with this place.
Hey, if anyone out there know me, food is good even at Burger King. So, I got Atlantic Sea Scallops. Jeanne asked how much? $40,00. I am okay I will get Shrimp Parmesan $28.00. Then Jake spoke up and said Tom loves scallops. So, I had no choice but to get them. They really were not as good as they could have been. It's okay, Mark and Kerry were very happy to pay for our dinner.
Okay, after eating Kerry invited Nathen and his son. They wanted to take a family picture. Plus, they asked Jake to come too. But he had something else to do.

We got the pictures done and Nathen and his son had to go back over to other family member's home.
Jeanne and I went to bed. I think Kerry and her family stayed up pretty much the whole evening. Kerry told me that she doesn't sleep well before their trip home.

Jeanne went in to wake up Rachel and Mason.

Jeanne, Kerry and Mark sat out back and had some breakfast and went and packed the car and ready to rock and roll. We said our goodbyes and they were on their way home now.

Saturday said our goodbyes to Kerry and her family. They are on their way home (Iowa). they got home on Sunday evening, safely.

I loaded up my little truck, the refrigerator was already in there. I just went out and back and found some other items that we really don't need to save.

I pulled up and dropped off all the items and refreg. too. It came out of the truck standing up. That was funny. When I started pulling, the guy in the backhoe asked if I needed help? I told him that is why I used my smaller truck, made so much easier to fill and pull off.

Now that is a strong electric magnet. It really was kind of neat to watch it just pick it up and drop it on top of the pile.
I must have dropped the receipt they gave me for the pay off. I got $28. + I think it was 400 pounds+
Over all I got rit of some stuff and paid for some (spotlights) bulbs we need to the back yard.
Well folks it is now start of Christmas Season.
We got the Christmas lights and stuff up and looking pretty good, I think. I will share pictures the next time. The sad part is this one was so long I started it on Nov. 26th at 8am. But finished it up this morning 11/27th at 11am.
I really hope and pray you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend.

Jeanne saw this place and had to stop.
