While I was gone.

There were a couple things that broke down. The train, found out it was the emergency brake was rusted tight. I sprayed it with WD-40 and hit it with a hammer and just kept trying to free it up. After getting the Bobcat out and pulling on it. It was free, but the brake pads are still pretty tight in the drum. I will work on it again today.
The front gate the bolt that holds the piston to the gate. Broke off. I went out yesterday and bought a new eye blots (SS) and re threaded. They come as 1/2 X 13 thread. Now I have two of them 1.75 mm. It will work just great. Today I will put the cover back on. It was raining when I was working on this.
Over all there really was not big problems when I came back. Thank you Jesus for that.
It sure nice to be home, I really enjoyed my time away, but I really missed my Scooby, I know he missed me. There is one sad part, on Tuesday the day I came back, The girls found Jingles under a tree, dead. Didn't see any bites or anything like that. I was talking with Tim Ryan, he told me a while back they had a cat and his hind legs gave out and fell to the ground. He did not dead, but they had to put him a sleep. Not sure why, but today I will be getting another one. Samuel, this is a cat that lives in the Barn at the ALC. Mark and Sean want him gone, he has killed some rabbits and chickens too. We will see how Scooby and him get along or not. If not, he will stay out side.

You can see Mr Tim Ryan has been a busy boy

You know Tim comes in every Tuesday to help us out. While I was gone, he kept working building the new gate. At the end of this last Tuesday, this is how far we are now. Hopefully by today, Thursday I can have it primed and ready to but the final lumber on. This is only the one side. Now have to but the rest of the lumber on the top now.

This is Edison's work shop

What he does is walk along the beach areas and picks up drift wood. You know 2x4 that have been in the water. Not the branches you see. Then he cuts them to the size he needs. After that he trims them out in the back, to be able to put a picture or a mirror in there to stay. He really takes his time building these.
He just glues them together, no nails or staples. They really hold up well. He has been doing this for some years now. Then he sells them to the other islands. After watching him a while I really saw the peace he has doing it. Plus he makes some money at the end. It is a dieing trade.

Right after I flew in, Edison came and picked me up.

This is the ministry that these two do each week. They come into the schools and do some singing and teaching God's Word and then there is crafts. This day we went to two different schools. I am sorry but I am not sure of the grades. I think the first pictures are 1 to 5grade. Now these children are part of all the grades. Just say, like the first pictures, there was 2 children in 1st graders, then three second graders, and so on. Then the next set of pictures are the older ones. 6 to 8 grade, maybe?
But you can see the fun they had to made these flying birds. It really was a little harder for the younger ones. But they got them done and look great. I just helped out with giving out the stuff and gluing and just helping them out. It really was some fun to see the end and the looks on their faces was worth the trip alone.
From here we went back to their home and relaxed a little.
Now if you have ever look at this blog at any time, you could see I never do this at night time. I am so far behind getting all these pictures into my blog. So tomorrow I should be caught up and you can see what happens the day after it happens.
Remember while I was over in Cat Island I didn't have any inter net. Now Eunice uses her Sim card out of her phone. I just thought I could do it when I got back. Which I did. Good night now. Talk with you tomorrow, God willing.

I left out of Nassau on Tuesday morning at 9am. Oct 22.

This was so neat, I got to the airport around 8am. Not suppose to leave until 9:00 am. We even left a little earlier, 8:40am. I was told if everyone is there, we leave. You can see this is the old airport area. Now when I came back I came in the new area. Okay, look inside of the airplane, that is the cockpit. Yes you can watch the guys fly the plane. Plus if you look, there are only one seat on each side. Plus you can see I sat on the wing. I an sorry, but the pictures I took on the way, there are to many scratches in the window itself. That is my plane taking off.

On my way to the beach.

Oh folks this walk was so nice. You walk down the hill of their home and there is the road. Then just walk about 100 yards then turn right on another road. Walk about 300 yards and there you are there.
The young lady you see here is Gilly, she is 92 years old. She walks down here each day around 5:30pm. She lives right next to the Pinders home. Really a nice lady. She has lived there for over 42 years. She is from Germany. We sat and talked a couple of times.
Then you see Puppet? She is still looking for crabs in the sand. I explanned later blogs. Now look at the last picture. There is red mixed into it. The reason is, I was told the coral reefs and different shells that are in the ocean. The funny ting is all the times I walked along the beach shore, NEVER saw one shell of anything. But some garabge. You know plastic bottles and other plastic stuff. Stuff that falls off the boats and any ships that go by. It still is beautiful.

This is the veiw from their roof.

There was two times I was up on the roof. First time painting around the trim, Orange. Then the next time was putting up gutters. We work well together, it was team work. You know trying to hold the gutter up while putting in the screws?  The gutters are for their rain barrel, plus the well. This way they will have enough water to do what ever is needed. You know, showers, washing clothes. Pretty much anything to do with water. The reason Edison wanted this for a while now. They have had to buy a tank of water or more for their well. Why spend the money if you don't have to. So this really is very much a great idea. It only took us a day to do it all. About the painting I got that done too. Around the house and even put one coat on the garage. It really does make a big difference. I had to get that done before the gutters went up.

Okay this the Pinder's generator.

On Tuesday night the power went out and we tried to start this. Would not even turn over. I kept checking every thing I could think of. So on Wednesday Eddie called this guy named Victor. He works in Miami, Fl. They are the ones that sold this generator the first time. Eddie bought this from some one else. So asking Victor, what he thought. Not sure, maybe the starter? So that day Eddie and I tried to find a way to get it out. Now this was Wednesday. Thinking now, maybe Thursday? Oh well. Okay, kept looking and trying all kinds of wrenches and things to get to the blot. The top one no problem at all, 17 mm. The bottom one no way. We gave up on that after a hour or so.
Then I Saturday morning while talking with God, I thought about why not cut a wrench and find a way to pull it up? On Saturday we got it out.
Today Wednesday Oct 30th. I stopped by Bay Street Garage. Philip told me there is nothing wrong with it. Okay back to the drawing board. I called Eddie and told him. I will send it back to him next Wednesday on the one of the mail boats. That is the only day this one goes to Cat Island.
I really not sure what to do next. Maybe by the week-end HE (God) will tell me something else?

Wednesday morning at 5:45am

That right, I got up at 5;45am, on Wednesday morning. Thinking wow, I want to watch the sun raise. Okay I was a little early. What I should have done was, get up at 6:30am and see what time the sun would raise and then go down the next day and take these shots. Oh well, I learned a lesson.
But look Puppet dug and dug and guess what, she got herself a crab. You might not be able to see it, but I know that is why I took that last shot.
Okay during Tuesday night the power went out. so Eddie was telling me about his new generator. I said great. They called BEC and they told them it would be around two more hours before the power would be turned back on. The reason is went out, lightening storms in the middle of the island. They said after the lightening stops. So Eddie tried to start up the generator. It blew a fuse. Not sure why? So Eddie put another fuse in. No it would not even turn over. So the next day we looked at it.

This is Puppet The Pinder's dog.

He was such a neat dog to play with. While gone, I really was missing my Scooby. But Puppet was very much part of everything I did while there. Every time I went to the beach he was in front of me. He loves to dig up crabs. Sometime he would get his nose bit by their claws. It was a joy to take walks each day. You know get up and go to the beach and walk along the shore. This was my resting time, enjoying what God has made for me.

Jeanne saw this place and had to stop.

This restaurant in on Rt. 60 heading from 95 to downtown Vero Beach. Autumn's Crab .  Walked in and sat down. Really kind of quiet for b...
