Oscar one of the students

How pastor Chet is show the Patmao Students about the world

This week that has passed, the students were to be dressed like they do in the Muslim countries. So after Monday morning they were told to put on long sleeve shirts and leave on the clothes they had already been wearing. That morning it was chilly so most of them already had on sweat shirts and pants. So now they were to put on sheets and what ever we had to give them to wear. Even some were given blankets. So during this last week they had to wear these clothes, (grab) during the time of coming on the site and during class. The next step was, they could not have a shower during this week. Then on Wednesday they put peanut butter and oil on their heads. I know this sound mean or even cruel. But during the time not one person complained or said no way. They all made it through this time. So this just shows how your prayers are working for them. Friday afternoon they got showers and back to normal clothes. I really give them a lot of credit and the wiliness to push forward.
That Friday they were given a lamb to take care of. They are to feed them and be their shepherd. Each student received one and were told how and what to do with them. I had a chance to talk with a couple of the students about caring for the lambs. I just told them to love on them and pick them up and carry them. This way the lamb will know how much you care for them. Plus during this time they were given a book called – A Shepherd Looks At Psalm 23. Written by Phillip Keller. I just finished reading it myself. It really is a good way to look at all the shepherds has to do. Just think about how our Lord is our Shepherd and all that He does to take care of us. Thank you for your time and I will be seeing you later on.

Land after clearing

Posted by Picasa

Long time in coming

A while back I was telling about the Patmos Team going to Eluerthra. Their main vogue was to clear a lot of land. The land I talk about is Camp Bahamas’ Richard Albright received a while back. His plan for it is to have a camp for the kids on all of the islands to come there. This will expand areas for them to visit and even get a chance to hear the Word of God. I know Richard loves to share his heart and his vision with the entire world. This was a large job to take on. When they got there it was a full jungle. By looking at the picture above you can see how much they did get done. I know it was a blessing for Richard and his family. Then the Patmos Team went over to Spanish Wells and painted a house. That is the first picture you see. Before and after. Please keep these students in prayer. This last week they have been told that they all are living now in as Muslim state. This means all have to wear a Grab. That means no flesh is to be seen. I will keep you up dated on this challenge.

Remeber how we use to be, plus compation.

A man and his wife are awakened, at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3 o'clock in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed.
"Who was that?" asked his wife. "Just some drunken guy asking for a push," he answers. Did you help him?" she asks. "No, I did not, it is 3 o'clock in the morning and it is pouring out there!" "Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!" The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?" Yes" comes back the answer. "Do you still need a push?", calls out the husband. "Yes, please!" The reply came from out of the dark. "Where are you?" asks the husband.
"Over here on the swing!", replies the drunk.

Sunrise

Hello my friends.

It has been a while since I have written in this Blog. I have been receiving all kinds of neat things that I think you might all enjoy. That is why you have been seeing things that have been forward to me and I love to pass them on.
Okay the picture that is right above this log in. Is a sun rise on the day the Patmos team was sent to Eleuthera. This island is about 60 miles from here, Nassau. All of Patmos took this ferry; it is called the Eleuthera Express. It is our mail boat; it goes to each of the islands to give out the mail, from New Providence. (Nassau) This morning was a rough one for them. The reason they were woken at 4am and told to pack for a week. During the time of packing the leaders turned off the power in both cabins. So they were packing by feel. Then I was one of the drivers of the buses. So I need to be ready at 5am with the bus. The bus I drove had all of the supplies on it. They still didn’t know where they were going to. We drove to Potter’s Cay. It is an area where all of the fishing boats and other ferries come in and go.
They left there at 6:30am. It took them almost 5 hours to get to Eleuthera. Remember they call this ferry the EXPRESS. Is that funny or what?
They got there and what their main ministry was clean and clearing a part of land that Bahamas Camp has received for their, Camp Grounds. It was not a vacation; all worked their back ends off. They were there for 10 days and some of them got into the Poison Wood. It is like Poison Ivy. It takes 3 days to show up. So one day you start to etch and then you are in trouble. It doesn’t spread, but is sure is very etching. One of the girls’ Kim had it all over her body. Pastor Chet had her stay in the room where there was air conditioning. Even Pastor Chet came home with it all over him.
The next blog I will have some pictures of their trip.

We are never alone

Each one of us has trials that no one else knows about.
Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's Rite of passage? His dad takes him into the Forest ... blindfolded ... and leaves him ....alone.
He is required to sit on a stump the whole night...and not take off the blindfold until the ray of sun shines through it. He is all by himself. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN. He cannot tell the other boys of this experience. Each lad must come into his own manhood.
The boy was terrified, could hear all kinds of noise.....beasts all around him. Maybe even some human would hurt him. The wind blew the grass and earth and it shook his stump. But he sat stoically - never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could be a man.
Finally, after a horrific night, the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he saw his father sitting on the stump next to him - at watch the entire night. We are never alone. Even when we do not know it, our Father is protecting us. He is sitting on the stump beside us. All we have to do is reach out to Him.

The Woodpecker might have to go!

Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark. .. One : Don't miss the boat. Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat. Three : Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Four : Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Five : Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Six : Build your future on high ground. Seven : For safety sake, travel in pairs. Eight : Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. Nine : When you're stressed, float a while. Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting....
NOW, wasn't that nice? Pass it along and make someone else smile, too

I think you all will enjoy this one.

SENIOR VERSION OF JESUS LOVES ME
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow.
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
(CHORUS)
YES, JESUS LOVES ME... YES, JESUS LOVES ME...
YES, JESUS LOVES ME FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.
Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go.
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.
(CHORUS)
Though I am no longer young,
I have much which He's begun.
Let me serve Christ with a smile,
Go with others the extra mile.
(CHORUS)
When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."
(CHORUS)
When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love.
(CHORUS)
I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
If you think this is neat, please pass it on to all of your friends. If
you
do not pass it on, nothing bad will happen, but you will have missed an
opportunity to "Reach out and Touch" a friend or a loved one.
God Bless Us All !!!

I didn't wrte this, bit it is so good to pass on this kind of letters

United States Post Office

Our dog, Abbey, died Aug. 23, and the day after Abbey died, my 4-year-old,
Meredith, was SO upset. She wanted to write a letter to God so that God would
recognize Abbey in heaven. She told me what to write, and I did. Then she put
2 pictures of Abbey in the envelope. We addressed it to God in Heaven, put
two stamps on it (because, as she said, it could be a long way to heaven).

We put our return address on it, and I let her put it in the drop box at the
Post office that afternoon. She was absolutely sure that letter would get to
Heaven, and I wasn’t about to disillusion her.

So today is Labor Day. We took the kids to the museum in Austin, and when we
came home, there was a package wrapped in gold on our front porch. It was
addressed to Mer. So, she took it inside and opened it.

Inside was a book, When Your Pet Dies, by Mr. Rogers (Fred Rogers). On the
front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its envelope (opened). On
the opposite page was one of the pictures of Abbey taped on the page. On the
back page was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on pink
paper:

"Dear Mer,
"I know that you will be happy to find out that Abbey arrived safely and
soundly in heaven. Having the pictures you sent to me was a big help! I
recognized Abbey right away!

"You know, Mer, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me
(just like it stays in your heart) young and running and playing.
Abbey loved being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our bodies in
Heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep things in-- so I am sending you your
beautiful letter back with the pictures--so that you will have this little
memory book to keep.

"One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope this little
book will help.

'Thank you for your beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it.
What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

"God blesses you every day and remember, I love you very much. By the way, I
am in heaven and everywhere there is love.

Signed,
God, and one of his special angels (who wrote this letter after God told HER
the words)."

How wonderful is that! I never knew there were angels working the post
office!
