Here is a bizarre happening.

Last week I stopped by Mark's auto repair shop. This is the place I bought my new (old) truck. Plus he is selling my old old truck. Okay, Mark asked me if I the old truck had a gas leak? Not that I know, of I told him. Just a side note: The day I dropped the truck off I saw it was low, so I filled it up. Like $32.00 worth. (Not thinking) Well why is there gas under my truck now? I wend over and looked at it. I didn't see any gas dripping down at all. I asked maybe that was from the other truck that was sitting there before?
Okay enough about that. Well I got a call on Tuesday afternoon from Mark. He was telling me that he had a buyer for the truck. BUT the truck would not start. Mark is thinking it is out of gas? Okay I  bought a gas can and got some gas and brought it over to his shop. I climbed under the truck and saw this drill shavings. Thinking this is not good at all.

Some one took a drill and poked a hole in the side. That is why there was gas all over the driveway?
I talked with Mark and he told me that he has never had any troubles like that before. I asked him if he needed any help in repairing it? He told me that he has some K B Weld for plastic. He will repair it. Okay I said and left for home.
Okay Lord this is YOUR TRUCK. Please protect it an get another buyer to stop by and let us get rite of it.
PRAISE HIM.

I sat on the beach for about a hour or so. Then rode on back to the Jetty. I am so blessed to call this place my home.
Praise HIM.

Another enjoyable ride.
No flats or problems Thank you Lord

Not really sure how you can break or even wear out a cruse control?

If you look closely, you an see the buttons are worn. Or just not sure how?

I went on Amazon and found this controller for $59.00 Thinking I should be able to replace this? I even saw a write up on how easy it was to do. Then I went on You Tube and watched a couple of guys replacing them.
Okay disconnect the battery. Pulled the air bag. (easy) No BIG BOOM!
Okay loosen the center bolt (50 mm) Had to go see Mark, (my friend that has a auto repair shop).
Got ti loosen. Okay problem, the steering wheel will not pull off.
Asked Mark if he had a puller? Not, I drove over to Advance Auto and used one of their's Not sure if you know this, but they lean out tools if you need them.
It took me a couple of tries, but it popped off.

I got it all apart and back together again. Look at this old piece. Not sure what happen here?

Roy and I went for a ride and tested it out. It worked!!!!. Plus at night time driving back from work I saw the lights work too!!!!.
Man,You Tube, you pretty much can repair any thing!!!!.
Plus by His grace is the real way it works.

I was at (Restore) Habitat For Humanity.

Oh well I really thought that was kinda of neat to see down here in South Florida!

Folks I have been having some small leaks since I bought this place.

At first I had many leaks along my carport and home. It really is not a problem, but I would like to fix them. So at first I used plastic mesh and tar over the seam.
No wait a minute. I first used this paint called Flex Seal. You have seen on TV commercials.
Then I used tar. Then one more time with the tar.
Okay now trying this sealer tar. It is thinner and easy to put down with a roller.
I did it two weeks ago. It did stop most of the leaks. There was only one more above the window in the kitchen.

Okay Lord this is Your home, please protect it and stop this leak. PLEASE.
Praise Him in the morning and Praise Him in the evening.
 JUST PRAISE HIM

How a little stain and weather proofing changes the look.

After I put these steps in I was thinking about just leaving them normal and not stain or paint them. But as I still have a small leak in the carport, I thought I better protect them a little more.

I really think they look even nicer than better. I even steel wool the banisters (hand railing) .
I love when  project comes out and looks good.
Praise Him and thank Him each and everyday you have breath.

I love signs that have meaning.

Roy and I were out driving around and stopped at Cumberland Farms for gas and coffee. I saw this and asked the guy driving the truck, would you mind if I took a picture of your sign? He not all, I have had people say, great sign.
It so so true how we as men think we can fix that and find out we made it worse.

Just some finishing touches, on the new steps.

Today i will go to Home Depot and buy some steel wool. Use the steel wool and polish the lumber a little and then put another coat on. Looking good form my view.

Doing a little more improvements.

On pretty much every Ford truck I have had, the black on the windowsill, was pealing off or just looked faded out. So I pealed the plastic off and sanded it down a little. Then thinking, use a brush so the paint will not get every where? Or just put plenty of new papers around it for the over spray. That was the one I did.

It definitely came out looking pretty good, to me!

I had a rusty ball hitch. So Roy said why not paint the whole ting? So I did and I like it.

I even took off the plastic frame that I use to advertise for Racetrack Motors.
I really am enjoying this truck.
Thank you Lord for such a wonderful gift and transportation.
Praise HIM.

Okay now take a look at my (new) old truck.

Hey I did this on my other truck and I thought it looked good. There was no way to bring the chrome back to life.

I think this made a good change too.

I think she looks beautiful. It really is nice to fix up something and just enjoy it.
Oh that right, do you see the FOR SALE sign?
Hey, why not see if I can make a couple of bucks?

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Okay I have the time and funds to fit up my (new) old truck.

Hey this place is right down town in Fort Pierce. Mark the gentlemen that sold me this truck as had many of these cars and truck painted here before. So I will give it a shot.

You might not see all of the faded paint on her? But as I asked for them to repair the dents and any other problems. Then repaint the whole truck. The same beautiful blue.
Tomorrow I will show you how good she came out.

I have all new steps going into my home now.

It sure feels great after building something and looking at it and say wow. It really came out looking better tan I thought.

Okay, have another project happening, Steps into the home.

As I have been living here now for 9 months, I walk up on these pieces of cement each day. They did their job until two days ago.
Now they are waiting for a better home.

This project really started on Monday and it took three days to finish.

The first steps we worked on were the ones coming out of the sliding glass doors, in the dinning room. Roy and I drove over to the land fill and dropped them off there. The two steps and supports weight was just a little over 100 pounds. The only reason I know that was, the land fill charges by the pound. It only cost me $3.00 for the first set of steps. The other two my neighbor Brenda wants the steps to do a little project in her front yard, with flowers and other things. So the four supports are out front for the trash man. Now if he doesn't take them, we will be going to the land fill again.

This is Roy, one of my neighbors. He had built steps before, so he called the shots. Looking pretty good so far.

The hand railing turned out to be a little problem. I could not find the spindle holders for the bottom. So we bought these small pieces of brackets and tried them. It really was not that strong. So we tried L brackets next. Still not as strong as you need for a hand rail.

Then after we finished for the day. Roy came over after wards and told me he thinks he has a better way. So yesterday we cut out holes for the spindles and sled them along side the stringers (supports)
They really came out much better then I thought. strong and looking much better too.

We built these steps on Tuesday. Really came out really nice too. The hand railing is strong and you can see we just put the spindles on the out side of the steps.
The last one I will write about tomorrow.
They are really looking great and strong.
Hey folks I am not getting any younger and I am thinking of my future. One of these days these hand railing will be needed to get ME in an out of my home.
Praise Him for wisdom and friendship.

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
