How can you save a buck or two????

Roy my buddy has a ice and water dispenser on his refrigerator. So he was telling me that the filter need to be replace. Okay lets look at Amazon. You can see here you buy two (2) that is correct. TWO. For how much? $35.00 No tax or shipping. $35.00 and you get TWO.

Okay just for the fun of it, we were walking around Home Depot and walked over to where they sell water filters for your refrigerator.
That is what you pay for JUST ONE. $49.99 EACH. Amazon you get TWO for How MUCH $35.00.
Folks I know sometimes buying stuff on line hurts business. BUT when you have only so much money coming in????
Hey right now I am down in Cudjoe Key. That is 23 miles north of Key West. Just visiting some friends down here. I will be writing about my trip tomorrow and.
I need to go get some breakfast now.
May your day be blessed and may He watch over you.

Well yesterday morning on our way to the airport, (Orlando)

While driving north, along 95. I saw this glow in the sky. I was thinking maybe a fire?

So yesterday morning Roy and I drove Richie, his brother to the airport. As we got closer, it sure was one.

Not sure why the pictures didn't come out good? But this is a fire along 95 heading east. Very close to the exit we were getting off of. (#520) We did see fire trucks and police sitting along the road, right next to the fire. Roy and his brother Richie were telling me this is a swamp area. There is no way they can get to the fire.

After we dropped Richie off we are heading home again. Meanwhile 95 is closed heading south. So we took the long way home. But it was very nice ride. We just drove to US 1 and headed south.

That is the sun in the smoke you are looking at.

I noticed this landscaping place on the right hand side. There is a large green iguana. Then behind him is a dinosaur. It really looks like a neat place to just walk around and look at their displays.

The traffic was backing up on US 1. So Roy decided to take A1A. home. It was a little longer ride, but enjoyable. Just seeing the beaches and the beautiful home on the way.
Overall Richie made to Montana. Richie will be staying out there for a couple of months. His has two daughter that live out that way.
Got home and changed the oil/filter on the Ranger. Then hand waxed it.

I did polish it last night around 4 pm. But as I got out to take a picture, it rained hard last night and there are water spots. So I didn't want waste the film on another picture? Just joking,
I really pray you are enjoying your Summer and all that is around you. Go out and take a walk, look up and see the beautiful sky and just enjoy what He has given you. Praise HIM.

On Saturday Roy and I went back over to Judy's home.

It is funny how the power of suggestion. As we were winding down on Friday with the bathroom. Judy asked if we could check out her fan in the front room? Roy climbed up there and saw one screw holding the fan up. Plus Roy noticed the main rod that holds the fan in place was out of it socket. So Roy was telling her, as we were at Lowes that morning he saw a fan on sale. It was half off. $59.99.
This is the fan he was talking about, above. She went out on Friday after we left and bought it.
She text me and asked, when we had time, could we put it up?
Thinking sure we will be over on Saturday.

We got the old fan down. Then rewired the new one and tried our best to get the transmitter into the canopy on the top that goes to the ceiling. We tried and tried again. We even cut the extra wire off, hoping it would fit better. But after about half hour or so, I asked Judy if she could take it back and buy another fan, with out the transmitter?

Folks I am not sure why? But reading the little booklet and trying our best to make it happen. It just seemed the transmitter was about 1/8 to 1/16" to big to fit into the canopy. Well that night I got a call and she did buy another one and I told her we would be over on Monday morning to install.
Yesterday morning I looked up on Lowes web site about the fan we were having so much trouble with. The commits were all pretty good on installing and easy to to do.
I am not sure why we were having so much trouble? Roy and I went up and looked ad least four different times to try to figure it out.
Prayerfully today this fan will be a lot easier.

I am so happy to say this project is done.

Well is took us a day more than I planned on. BUT it is finished. We needed to take one more ride to Lowes/Home Depot. The reason was the new vanity is about 4 inches higher than the old one. So the connections on it had to be lengthen. You know the water lines from 20" to 30" The drain pipe needed a goose neck, to kick it over the the floor drain.
But at the end Miss Judy was very happy and thought it looked great. Folks you can redo something and if the customer is not happy, Why did you do it?
I am very blessed to have Roy as a partner. He has ideas and we work well together.
Judy had a problem with a ceiling fan. She asked us to look at it after the bathroom.  Roy got up there and found it was not repairable. He told her about a fan on sale at Lowes, he saw yesterday. Well last night I got a call and she would like us to put it up today. I couple more buck in the pocket.
Getting back to this bathroom. As we raised the floor a little bit plus put in a threshold. The door bottom needed to be cut. Hey all I can say Thank you Lord for letting me be able to do this kinda of work.
Praise HIM.

Prayerfully we should finish this bathroom today.

Well as we keep pushing froward, it is coming along. The funny thing is, we gave Judy a price on tearing  up her floor, repairing that. Then putting down a new flooring. Then putting everything else back into place. I was thinking max 2 days. But now she asked if we could paint the room too. So Roy ripped off the old wall paper and had to clean up any holes and just make the walls look good.

Took the medicine cabinet out. Put up a piece of wood over the hole.

Patch all the holes and painted the walls and trim.
Now this was not part of the deal. The sad part is I gave her a price for the flooring only.

We got the floor down and it really looks great. Another items, she went out and bought a new vanity, mirror, all new fixtures You know towel bar and everything like that.
Plus we went and picked it all up at Lowes on Wednesday night. So at the end prayerfully we will finish today and I just then we will figure out the finish price?

If you have looked at my blog for any time.

I enjoy a good bicycle ride.
Well this last week, a friend of mine was at a bike shop and she saw these yellow signs. She asked and the person behind the counter, he said, they are free. So she picked up a couple of them and gave one to me.

As I was sitting here thinking about this, I remember I picked up a map and rules on biking around this county So I found this and thought, there really is a law about the distance between a cyclists and vehicles. So please if you are driving around and see a cyclists please give them a break.
I know I would deeply appreciate it. They would too.

Have a chance to help someone out and make a buck or two.

This is Judy's bathroom. About two months ago, she called me and asked if we, Roy and I could repair her floor? We gave her a price then. Roy is back now and we started on it yesterday.
Took the vanity top off.

Cut the pipes out that come through the floor of the vanity.

It is sad how cheap these are made. But each and every mobile home is pretty built the same way.

After pulling up the vinyl we saw we really have some water damage. I hit the floor with a hammer and it just fell apart.

You can see the floor joices. Then looked and saw the wood along the wall was rotten too.
So we talked with Judy, (the owner) Showed her the problem. We explained that the flooring in  bedroom, on the other side of the wall, is not to good. So we asked if we could just put down a new floor over the old one. She said great.

At the end the flooring is down and now all we have to do is, pull the wall paper off and paint the room. Then put down a vinyl flooring. Then hopefully she will buy a new vanity and it should look great.

As I was working last Wednesday afternoon.

These guys came in to replace the light bulbs in the store. Thinking, this is kinda crazy to do during business hours?

Well as they kept replacing them, I was watching customers trying to stay out of their way. I was really thinking this could be a BIG liability?
I even talked with the manger that was closing that night. Asking him why would they let them come in and do their work during store hours. He told me that was how they planned it out.
I talked with one of the workers about his job. Asking if they normally replace bulbs during store hours? He said, not really. But no one wanted to stay afterwards, (store hours), So that is why they are doing what I think is crazy.
I guess everything worked out?

Hey all you fathers out there, I hope and pray you all had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday.

Well my day started out like any other Sunday, Went church and then did some shopping. You know like stopping at Aldi. Yes I did stop and bought some corn on the cob and a couple of other items. But got home and just hung out and watched a little TV. I noticed Lori's SUV was in Roy's driveway. This is Richie's daughter and her hubby.  I went over and spent sometime with them. I am sorry but I forgot to take pictures while over there. Came home and chilled for a little while and then went back over to Roy's home for a Father's Day and Birthday dinner. They were celebrating Roy's birthday, which was on the 11th.

Okay I know you all know who who is. But this is Roy,left hand corner. Then his lovely wife, Pat. Then Bobbie in the blue shirt, Richie, Michelle (Bobbie's wife).

The white hair man in the white shirt is Fred. now if you don't know this, all these guys are brothers. So during all this time, we just sat there and had some nice stories about our children. I did share about Kevin calling me that morning to wish me a Happy Father's Day. I really thought that was kinda neat to hear from him.
Mean while we watched the USA Open, (golf).

Then after a little while had some desert. That is one thing about this family, they always have some kind of desert. Which makes me very happy.
Not sure why, but every since I have gotten older, I really like something sweet after a meal.
It was very nice to spend sometime with everyone and just hang out.
So HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU GUYS OUT THERE.

So nice to have my neighbor back in town.

This is Roy. For over the last a month, him and his wife Pat have been traveling around the north east states. They went up and visited their children and grand children. While gone there was a small roof leak. Nothing damaging. But about 6 months ago, he did seal half of his roof because of it. So yesterday was a beautiful day and didn't like any rain. So he got a gallon of sealer and put it on. Prayerfully this is fix the problem.

I had a chance to take a ride with Jon, on Tuesday evening.

I am sorry for the poor picture. But this is the tackle shop we drove to on Tuesday evening. Here there is a Men's Bible study, every Tuesday. So Jon asked and I took a ride south. Got down there and saw a couple of familiar faces, I knew.

I wish I could tell you everyone's name, but don't know them. On my far right is Fred and Jon. Jon is the one that I rode with south, then north again. I have known these two guys for many years. They both serve at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Fred is Pastor Fred's dad.

As we sat around and tried to meet everyone. Plus had some good pizza and fellow shipping.

This is Pastor Fred speaking. He was in the Book of Philippians chapter 2:12 to 24. It was refreshing and enjoyable to just hang out and hear God's Word. Plus to see that really nice tackle shop too.

These two pictures above are painted by the owner of the tackle shop. I think is name is Robbie. As we finished up and sat around and talked a little afterwards. I got to meet a few guys and it really was kinda of fun too. Just walking around this shop was so neat. The LARGE hooks and the big fishing reals. It was a neat shop. Oh I made a small comet to Robbie, Telling him, he is really giving Guy Harvey (he is a famous fishermen's artist) a run for his money on the art work here. It really was some beautiful painting.

At the end of the evening Jon and I headed north again. It was around 10 pm pulling into my driveway. It was worth the trip.
If you think about this Bible study say a prayer or two. Some of these guys just stop by to hang out.
It really was a good time, not sure when I will be back? But one day?

We made it to The Famous, Daytona Beach, Florida.

Okay the rain was coming down pretty good. But we made it there. As puling into Daytona, this was our greeting. Which was kinda neat. I have been up here before, (1990's) That would have been with Carma (ex wife now) If my memory sets me straight we had a great time up here.

This stadium is the famous Daytona Beach Raceway.

As we were driving along, you can see the neat metal banner going across the road.
As you drive in there is a small booth there to collect $10.00 to drive on the beach. As you see the rain was really coming down pretty good, so I guess that person decided to call it a day and shut down. Which was kinda of nice. The reason I say that we could only stay a little while any way.
Saved $10.00 bucks!!!!

As just looking around, you might not know this. You actually can drive on the beach from one end to the other. But as the rains kept coming I did want to take a chance of getting stuck.

As we started to drive off the beach there was a gift shop. Don was telling me he wishes he got a gift for his grand daughter at Ron Jon's. So here he had a chance to make it right.
Okay now he needs to get to the Orlando Airport.
Just punched in the place on the GPS and we were on our way. Got there right on time 7:10pm. Said our good byes and he was on his way back home. All went well for him and he made it home with no problems at all.
It sure a nice time to just hang out and get some what caught up on things we both are dealing with. I am very blessed to call him my friend and just knowing him since we were 7 years old. That is 58 years.
Praise our Lord for a wonderful time.

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
