Helping Roy out.

This is Roy's gutter. Every once and while we need to clean it out. You can see a tree is growing out of this one here. If you look the gutter is very narrow and it is hard to get my hand into it. So I use a flat bar to pull the leaves and things out.
It still a pain.

It does clean up. As we were cleaning, Roy was asking about cutting the gutter off. This way the leaves and stuff will just fall to the ground. Maybe after we seal the roof in?

We cleaned the roof with the house cleaner we use. Came out pretty good. So now it needs to be sealed in.

I am not sure if I have told you this, BUT WE DON'T SEAL IN ROOFS ANY MORE. The reason is people call us and ask if we can repair their roofs? I tell them there is no guarantees. I can seal it in, with this stuff. BUT NO GUARANTEE. So we seal it in and sometimes it works but some times it doesn't. So as it stands now, we say can not help.
Okay to say all this, we are sealing in his roof. It has worked in the past. This is the cheapest way. The five gallon cost around $70.00 for 5 gallons.
Prayerfully this will work again.

I used a my sawzall, 6" blade and it went pretty good. Now the leaves will blow off an no more blockage.

Then pressure washed the driveway.
Hey afterwards his place looks great. We do need to paint his peak of the house.
It really does make me feel good after all we are getting done at his home.
The reason is he got a letter from the park. Okay he should be okay now.
Folks it is Friday already, plus it is going to be MAY1st tomorrow???
Crazy.
Please seek our Lord and just trust Him more today and look forward in seeing what He has next for each of us.
Praise HIM and THANK HIM.

Not sure why?

I was at Walmart on Tuesday evening. If you look at the clock on the wall. You can see it is only 7:35pm. Okay why, am I concerned about the time? Well I have a small package of corn meal that I bought last week. It was the wrong one. So all I want to do is get a refund. ($2.75) Okay the lights are out in this area. I saw one of employee's walking away from this area. I asked, what time does the customers service area closes? 8:00pm. It is crazy, I see the time is 7:35pm.
After taking this picture, the girl behind the counter. asked, did I take a picture? Yes I did, the time is what I wanted a picture of.
I was ups set and just walked away.

Replacing a bad toilet with another bad one. Not bad but cheap one.

I think this is the one Ted bought at Lowes. Hey I always like American Standard products. But you get what you pay for.

Only problem this toilet had was, IT LEAKS UNDER THE TANK. Okay so as we were talking with Ted (owner) I asked him to buy a Delta Turner Toilet. You can see it below.
He told me that this will okay!!!
I told him we could have the same problem, leaking under the tank??

Had to replace the water valve too.

This is the American Standard Toilet ($119.00)
See the leak coming out of the top. I showed it to Ted (owner) Really can't do much with it. Replace the guts????? NOT.

These are the two bolts that are leaking. I tighten them as much as I could. Still leaking. I drained the tank out. Pulled the bolts out and put silicone in the bolt hole and after putting the bolts and nuts on sealed the top too.

Okay got the new toilet in and it leaks under the tank, plus the guts inside leak too. Not a good thing at all.

This is the toilet I tell folks to buy. Or I will go get it for them. most the time they say get what is the best.
Okay now we did seal in the bolts. Told Ted not to use it until after 24 hours. Wanting to have the silicone set up and dry.
So we put this in on Monday morning, it took us 3 hours to walk away and say prayerfully it is good.
The Delta toilet usually takes about hour, most 90 minutes. That is rare.
So please folks if you are replacing a toilet.
PLEASE SPEND A EXTRA BUCK OR TWO AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HEAD ACHE.
So how is your week going so far???
Yesterday and today (Wednesday) we worked on Roy's home. I will share some pictures in a few days.
I just wanted to get this out there and share some wisdom.

This is the kind of Sunday we enjoy.

Start up a fire and just enjoy the outside world.

Listening to a water fall, is very relaxing.

This is what we can call a blessing. Folks I am not sure about you, but having a nice steak and some corn on the cob is a beautiful thing.
Not sure what everyone does? But sitting around on Sunday is a way of having a Sabbath. I know for us that is some what rare, just laying around?????
We all know we have things to do, mine is weeding and it is one thing I really don't look forward in doing. BUT we did nothing this Sunday. How about calling someone you have not heard from for a while or so? I called my friend, Don (sixty years plus) we have been friends, and we got some what caught up on all that has been going on. Call someone?
Hey we all need to chill and enjoy what Our Lord has given each and everyone of us.

Another job for our friend up in Vero Beach area.

We have a customer that lives up north, Vero Beach. Larry and his wife Mary Ann use to live in Spanish Lakes Country Club. They moved north about 4 months ago. As they lived here SLCC, Roy and I have done many small jobs before.
Okay they need a couple of things done around their home.
They have a patio out front of their home and it has river rock on it. Which means the loose stones. We look at different ways to seal it. There is only one way, epoxy sealer. The cost is pretty high, gallon goes for around $325.00. Thinking need around  4 gallons.  It is really worth it???
Okay talked with Larry and his wife about how they would like. They asked about indoor/out door carpet.
Okay so now how do we lay it down, and secure it?
Okay need to buy it first. I was surprise to see the price. I thinking 12 foot by 15 foot would cost around $50.00 bucks.
I went and started looking and found it will cost around $90.00. It really is kind a crazy how to label the carpet. I would say linear foot.

They have a small leak in the carport. I sealed it with the Kool Seal.
I do tell the customer that there are no guarantees.

The carpet I got was 12 foot by 15 foot. We only need 9 foot by 15 foot. So I cut 3 feet off. Then we laid it out. Then I put the carpet tape on the brick and it seems to work pretty good.

I am so happy that we put the carpet over the edge. It looks great and this way no way to trip on it.

Put double sided tape on the brick and then put the carpet down on top of it.
I think is looks pretty good. Then was asked Larry and Mary Ann to come on out and ask them, what do they think.

They are both in agreement. looks great.
As we kept talking afterwards. Hey Tom can you repair this and that? So Roy and I had a couple more jobs to do before we were finished.
At the end of our visit, we made few bucks and everyone is happy.
Folks as Roy and I help others out. Our Lord blesses us and he is watching over us too. Thank you Lord for all You do.

That is how some people think???
Over all I pray your week has been going, some what, smooth.
I know I have had a few jobs to do and I have been blessed.

Taking a ride west, on Orange Ave.

This is called Carter's General Store. They have many items for breakfast, lunch and what ever you want during the day.
Our main reason for stopping was, Jeanne wanted chicken geezers. I myself can walk away and say no thank.

This is what I got, Sloppy Joe, plus sides. $6.75. Got some potatoes and corn. It was okay, It tasted like Manwich to me. It was okay. Jeanne loved her geezers, oh plus she got some fried shrimp too.
We bought  ribs and beef brisket. That alone was $19.00. Hopefully it was worth the trip? We will be eating that tonight. (Monday)

Just walking around to see all they have. It really is a general store. Sells guns and asst. Some tools and work boots. Just a old style country store.
Well Jeanne and I ate our lunch and headed back out, farther west. Taking a bed frame and some egg cartons (for her mother in law wants them)  to her niece's home, out this way. The bed frame hopefully will fit the single bed, (Shaughnessy) (niece) bought?
While out here we got a chance to see their two dogs.

They both were having a lot of fun in the water. Just swimming around. It really look like some fun,
I can tell you this, what a great set up and beautiful property. They have only lived here for 8 or 9 months.
Okay, that was our trip out west today.
I know this week-end was our relaxing time, just sit around the house and enjoy some quiet time. Which it was.
My prayer for all is that ,YOU take that time and do it. RELAX. Our Lord tells us this,
ON THE SEVENTH DAY REST. Hey it could be on any day.  I know when I worked at Calvary, my resting day was Tuesday. How about YOU???

This is just something we need to look back and say WHAT???

THE YEAR WAS 1955...(if I hadn't lived through it, I wouldn't believe it myself).

Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter?

USS Krishna (ARL-38) was one of 39 Achelous-class landing craft repair ships built
for the United States Navy during World War II. Named for Krishna, she was the only
U.S. Naval vessel to bear the name, and only one of three ships to be named after a Hindu deity.

If they raise the minimum wage to $1.00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.

When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would

someday cost 25 cents a gallon? Guess we'd be better off leaving

the car in the garage.

Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract

for $50,000 a year just to play ball?

It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President.

I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric.

They're even making electric typewriters now.

It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women

are having to work to make ends meet. It won't be long before young couples

are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.

I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door

to a whole lot of foreign business.

Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the government takes

half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the

best people to government.

The fast food restaurant is convenient for a quick meal,

but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.

There is no sense going on short trips any more for a weekend.

It costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a motel.

No one can afford to be sick anymore. At $15.00 a day in

the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.

If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a haircut, forget it.

Know any friends who would get a kick out of these, pass this on!

Be sure and send it to your kids and grandkids, too!

The year was 1955

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
