Moving slowly but moving forward.

Okay as I was cutting out the out on the wall to your right. I was leaning up against this wall. The sad part I didn't know it. So the next picture was damaged. 

So our custmor told me to get rit of this piece of wayne coating. Pull it off the wall. I was going to clean it up and put a coat of paint on it. Oh well, we pulled it off the wall and replaced it. Just think, just paint the wall and all is well. 

Got the electric switches in and they work too. 

The over head light is up and looking good too. 

Over all we have been trying to finish this up and it just seems like we need this and that. So we have been traveling back and forth to Home Depot and Butterfields. 

Okay as today is Aug 31st. We need to keep our Americans in Prayer that are still in Afghanistan. As I watch the news this morning. It is crazy that our troopers are pulled out of there today. WHY? 

There are AMERICANS STILL THERE. 

Please keep them all in your prayers. 

 

I need to back up on our small jobs.

This is Monday morning (23rd) of last week. Got up and went and helped out my little girl at school and then had to stop by Home Depot and buy a couple of things. 

Okay this is Joyce's bedroom. This was our first job that was needed to get done. On Monday. We came in and took out her 2 sets of closet doors. Then put in new ones. Hers' went pretty smooth. 

This is her hubby's bedroom and he wants new ones too. So as we finished up on this small project. Roy and I walked away in two hours. Over all these really are not that hard to put up. The only problem is being sure they are straight afterwards. Look at how the door in closed. No gaps.

As today is Sunday morning, I just could not sleep again. I got up around 2:30am. 

Not sure about you, but I need to get up during the night to go to the bathroom. So after getting up to do that. I climb back into bed and just roll over and over again. I guess I have a lot on my mind. Not sure why? 

All I know that the Hurricane Ida in hitting New Orleans as I am writing. Folks Hurricane Katrina hit this same area back in 2005, I think on the same date. 

As we have been very blessed about hurricanes coming our way. Our hearts go out for the people in New Orleans. It was pretty much destroyed during Katrina. So please keep them in your prayers and look forward in seeing how our Lord is letting this happen. He has a plan for each and everyone of us and sometimes it is storms that get our attention.  

As Monday was closing out. Jeanne and I went out and took a ride and found this beautiful hank sitting up on this food trailer. WOW just look at how he or she just looks so powerful an strong to live their own lives. 

Our Lord blesses us each and everyday. Now all we need to do it see His blesses and give Him thanks each and everyday. Praise Him.  

 

Roy and I have ourselves a big task ahead of us.

This is one of the bathrooms of our customer (Joyce and hubby) They want this room remodeled. 

So we need to take down this cabinet and  cleaned up. 

The light is it go, plus the medicine cabinet.

We cut this off and saved for later use. 

The wall will look great afterwards. The ceiling we will clean it up and spray paint it and make it look much better. 

We had to rewire the light switches and then make it look good too. 

Here is the same set up too. 

Okay what do you think? I am very happy and the rest of this bathroom will look great afterwards. 

Put the wayne coating up and put the light switch plates on. 

This is where we are cutting the boards and what ever is needed to make it happen. 

Okay it might not look pretty yet? 

You will see the finished room in a couple of days. 

Folks our country is in trouble. As you watch the news an see how bad our government is handing this Afghanistan withdraw. 

I know we are all praying for safety of our Americans that are trying to get back home.  

We all know Our Lord is letting all this happen. But He is still there for us and them. 

PLEASE PRAY AND PASS IT ON TO OTHERS.  

 

Trying a new restaurant, Kountry Kitchen

This is what my baby ordered. Hey a few years ago, I was told about this place. I have tried coming here before, But there was such a long wait, I didn't wait. But this Sunday and this last Sunday we just walked in and sat down right away. 

Yes we went back yesterday for breakfast. My baby had the same breakfast she had before. 

I got a egg omelet and some fried potatoes. Then yesterday I just had the egg special. It is two eggs, sausage and the potatoes. $5.75. Not bad and tasted great. 

You can look here and see how busy this place is. Like I said, by His grace we just walked in and sat down. 

Over all we, Jeanne and I are so blessed to be able to go out and eat some good food and just enjoy our time. After church service. Hey my baby worked this whole week-end on school work. So if I can take her out for a nice breakfast and get away from the house, is worth that time. 

 

A new 7-11 just opened up about a month ago.

Last week I stopped in to get my FREE PIZZA. Thinking great free pizza. It sure looks great in the picture. It has everything on it. Which I like. 

Oh this is al we have to offer you, cheese or peperoni. 

Okay what about the size??? 

Oh it is okay, it was FREE. 

Hey I hope and pray everyone out there is praying hard for our folks over in Afghanistan?

There is real trouble happening over there and people are scared,. 

The way things are going, I am too. 

 

This is just a spoof.

It really sad to see all that is happening in our world this last week. 

BUT sometimes I believe this is becoming true. 

 

My check up with Dr. Singh (Dermatology)

I am now my way down to see my dermatology. I have been going to him for over 5 years. He like to see me every 6 months or so. The sad part is, he always finds some to freeze. 

When you walk in you see these boots on the floor. I am not sure what they mean, but I see Dr. Singh is very much a patriot, USA all the way. 

This is just one of his rooms that he exams his patients. He is very much a patriot. I think this is the only room I have ever been in. There are pictures of V.P. Bob Dole. 

I am not sure but I think Bob Dole use to hang out at the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C,  The only reason is I saw pictures of Bob Dole with Dr. Singh. Plus others in the pictures hanging on his walls. I know Dr. use to ask if I knew any World War II veterans? I am sorry but I don't. 

I know Dr. did some work trying to rise funds for them. Him and his friends do shows. They dress up in Elvis outfits and sing his songs Last time they were at Sunrise Theater. 

I just took this off the web page for the Washington Post. On June 18th 2018 ran a article by Steve Hendrix. It was telling about V.P. Bob Dole each and every Saturday he would set off on his latest vocation. He would hang out at the Memorial and shake every one of the veterans hands that would stop to talk with him. The sad part is now V.P. Bob Dole has passed, back in 2009. He was 94 years old. 

The real neat thing is, I would have never thought about him with out seeing the pictures on Dr. Singh office walls. 

It really was a tribute to V.P. Bob Dole and all he has done for the veterans of World War II. 

  

Okay now if you look and see red or pink skin. That is where Dr. Singh with his freeze gun. Boy does it burn afterwards. But I walk out and put this cream on there and all is well. 

The sad part is, I see guys my age with bandages on their ears and face and head parts. The reason is their doctor actuals cut the skin to get a biopsy. to see if they have cancer or not. 

I am so happy working with Dr. Singh way. I am trusting him, that he knows what he is doing. 

Folks this last week has been very painful to watch about Afghanistan. I know every one in the world is seeing how our president is screwing things up. 

But please just keep it in prayer and see how Our Lord is letting all this happen, for some reason. 

Folks we will never really understand what is going on with out Our Lord Jesus Christ. 

We all need to be seeking His face, not what is happening.   

 

We are trying a new restaurant.

A new restaurant in Port Saint Lucie. I am sorry but I don't know the name of it. 

But as we sat down to see what they had, I think everyone had a plan on eating some different than each other. This way we all could try different taste. 

Okay it really was some good food. But the time we had to wait to be served. I think 45 minutes went by waiting. But at the end it was tasty and enjoyable. The price was a little bit in the high side. But we just finished the pizza yesterday for dinner. So we got tow meals out of it. No really got three meals. I had two pieces of pizza a couple of days ago for lunch. 

These are Corrnets. Hey these two are willing to try anything new. So we enjoy inviting them along to give it a try. 

I think they both enjoyed their meal and taking some food back home too. 

I am so blessed to have friends like them. Our Lord has put people in our lives each and everyday/ It is our opportunity to share a meal with others and just hang out. 

Please folks we all have people around us each and everyday. He is the One that set things like this up.

He wants us to come together and just encourage each others. 

 

Started a small project, not knowing it was a BIG ONE.

This gate here has been here for a while or so? Mr. Corrnet was showing me his new office and asked if I could make this gate look better? Looking at it and told him sure. Let me look around and see what I can do? 

You can see that the screws are not holding to good? What they used to make this gate was cardboard. Then threw a piece of cloth over it and stapled it in. So I took it down and started building a nice gate for him. 

I went out and bought some materials. and started building it. Thinking I need to make is well built. So I a piece of Wayne's coating. Stapled the cardboard they had already together. Then I put 2" x 1" boards around and made a frame to make it strong. Then put molding around the edges to make it look good. 

I built it and looked at it and thought, this is going to be too heavy? I asked Mr. Corrnet to take a look at it. Yes to heavy for a gate. 

Okay now what should I do? I took the one side or framing off. 

I made the gate to long too. So I had to cut about a 1" off on end to fit in the space it was going. 

I built this here at the school thinking, a piece of cake. One day no problem at all. 

Okay that is very far from the truth. I took the gate home to paint it. 

I put the hinges on and the mounting board hold it in place. Put it back into my truck and helped Jeanne do a couple of things around the classroom. Then went back over to Mr. Corrnet office and mounted it on the wall. 

I think it is looking good. I ask Jeanne to come over ad help mount it to the wall and see what happens. 

She didn't like the way it looked. She wants us to come back on Saturday and sanded it and make it look great. 

So now it is Saturday the 14th. I loaded up the tools and we got over here around 11am. 

My baby starts sanding the gate and what ever else is needed to make it look great. 

Not sure what time we left, but I know I was tried and she was too. It is looking pretty good. The sanding is done and now we need to come back on Sunday, after church and finish this up. 

So after church we got there around 11am and started painting everything. We needed to do a little more sanding here and there. But after a few hours it was looking great and Jeanne was saying that it has a passing grade NOW. 

Finished the mounting bracket and did a couple of stop painting here and there. 

FINISHED AT LAST. 

Jeanne was very happy how it turned out and told me, it is finished. 

Mean while I had to hang a blind in Mr. Corrnet's office. 

Now we are done and time to go home. I think it was after 5pm when we left there? 

Hey my little girl is happy with it and I will know for sure that is all that matters. 

She saw Mr. Corrnet on Monday and he likes it. 

Folks sometimes I do finish woodwork and just want to make is look good and move on? 

I really don't have the patience to deal with it. 

Over all I am very happy to walk away and knowing my baby likes it and she is very proud of it. 

I am not sure about you, but I am very blessed to have a wonderful woman in my life that cares about my work and hers'. So please thank you wife today for her gifts of love and willingness to share her life with YOU. 

Praise HIM all day long.
