Well our church's thrift stores need a helping hand.

This is the crew, Pastor Craig, Troy and Andrew. We are at the Indrio Road store. Let me back up and explain. I go to a church called The Crossing Community Church,. Pastor Craig is the Senor Pastor. Well Craig is always has his eyes open for opportunity. So I guess back a few years ago, he started the Indrio Crossing Thrift Store. Then down the road he started the The Crossing Thrift Store on Georgia Street in Fort Pierce. So both of these stores are part of The Crossing. Well as a thrift store you need to have things to sell. So On Monday to Wednesday they pick up things people call ahead and ask if we would like this or that?
Okay Now there are a couple of guys not able to help with this. Pastor John had hip surgery and Pastor Craig had shoulder surgery.  Okay now what do they do? Just before Pastor John had his surgery. Pastor Craig made announcements. That John was not able to help with pick ups. Plus himself, Craig had shoulder surgery a couple of weeks before then.  So really these two guys are out until the doctor gives them a release that they can do the lifting and moving of things.
Okay now what does this have to do with me? Jeanne heard the announcement and asked if I could help them out? Why not? So this has been my opportunity to help out. When I first came to Fort Pierce, I use to  helped out here a few days of the week. But since they have hired staff. Really no need. But now they are needed some help.
I think I started helping out around four or five weeks ago.

This is one of the homes we stopped at this day. They are moving out and someone is buying their house.
The couple that own this home are both in their 90's. So let see what they have?

He Craig is explaining, what we are looking for and trying to find out what they want to give away.

Now Craig is still not suppose to be lifting heavy things. But you can see they have a lot of items.

Plus, LOOK a old style piano. This is VERY HEAVY, and he not my brother. (song many years ago)
Well we looked around and told them we would come back and get some more help.
Well we did go back about a couple of days later and just took a old sofa and some other items. (really nothing we can sell. It is pretty much all shot. So the items we picked up, we pretty much threw in the dumpster after getting back to the thrift store. The sofa and big items piled up in back of the store, so we can make a dump run. Folks I understand about items people THINK are worth something. NOT REALLY. But just to help this couple out, that is what we did.

This was the sofa we picked up. It was a sleeper too. VERY HEAVY. But Craig and Troy took this and many others items to the dump. The guy in this picture is Jessy. He volunteers too. He is going to firemen's classes to become one.
Folks we all think, call the thrift store and they can sell it and make some money and we get rite of it too.
Well the sad part is most people think this way. BUT in the end the thrift store has to pay someone to take it to the dump and pay to unload it there. Then pay the fee for the dump.
Over all, if you want to help out with giving the thrift stores your stuff.
PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT, WOULD YOU BUY IT????

About three weeks ago, Troy and I went to pick up a sofa. Well we got there and the door ways were very tight. Plus we noticed there were a couple of rips in the back of it. I talked with Troy about this and he went to the owner and showed him a couple of small rips. The guy that wanted us to take it. He said there will be someone that doesn't have a sofa and they will buy it? Well as Troy and I were taking it out. We had some trouble with getting it out the front door. We got it out and saw how bad it really was. We ended up piling it up with the others things to take to the dump.
So please if you want to give a thrift store your donations. WOULD YOU GO IN AND BUY IT???

Okay this was another day. Craig and Troy were loading up the lawn mowers. This church cuts their own grass plus others. Now most of time Craig doesn't charge to cut your lawn. That alone is a ministry.
After loading up the lawn mowers. We drove over to the other store.

Now you can see this place is packed full of items. We moved things around to get more stuff in for tomorrows run.
Well I have not been getting any calls for jobs, so I will help out as much as I can.
It really has been a blessing for me to be here and hang out with these guys.
I really enjoy their company and friendship.
I look back to a tie when Jeanne and I were moving into her mom's house. We had a couple of big items to move. Jeanne called Craig and he brought over his crew.
We moved a gun safe. IT WAS VERY VERY HEAVY. But at the end we got it in and thank them very much. So if I can help? I will .
My buddy Tim is still in ICU. Please keep him and his family in prayer.

Well folks I really hope and pray you all had a great Thanksgiving Day.

Okay let me get you caught up a little. The last couple of posts I have been trying to catch up on posting things. It has been hard to do so. But here goes.
Jeanne had hip surgery on Friday last week.  So if you don't know this about my wife, she loves to cook and especially for family. We were invited to the family gathering at Bo's house. But Jeanne really didn't feel like standing around and talking with the all. So she told her son that we were having Thanksgiving dinner at our house.
Now wait a minute, didn't you say she had surgery on Friday??? Okay if you know Jeanne is she very head strong and I don't want to say any more about that.
Okay on Wednesday we started out cooking the potatoes and sweet ones too. Plus a couple of other things.
But on Thanksgiving morning we started cooking the turkey.

Then we worked on finish straightening  up the living room and dinning room.

Oh plus we changed the rug on the floor here. It was a red and flowery pattern, before. So now we have a larger one and I really like it. The claw mark you see is the vacuum cleaner marks.
But the neat thing is our home is a home again. Now there is a lot of the stuff that has been in these two room for a while, now are in a shed. That was what we did yesterday and the day before. But looking great.
So we still have to get the dinner ready for family, so we did it.

Okay here is our gathering, Jake (son) on the left, Jan his girl friend and Alex, Jan's friend, Jeanne my baby and Chris (Jeanne's cousin)
We all sat down and had a wonderful time eating and just getting caught up on all that has been happening in each of our lives.
Afterwards was the clean up, it really went well. Jake and Jan and friend needed to get to another gathering.
So Chris and Jeanne and I sat around watched TV last night and went to bed afterwards.
Folks it really was neat for my little girl to put this all together, I know at the end she was hurting big time. But to say she went beyond was a under statement.
I am very proud and happy for her willingness to do things like this for us. I am very blessed to have her for my wife. Praise the Lord for His ways.

On Tuesday afternoon, I meet my sister and her daughter down in West Palm Beach, for lunch. They flew in last Friday and have been staying in Hollywood for the last week. So we texted each other and made a date to meet half way. Which we did. We meet at the Old Key Lime Restaurant of Lantana, Fl.
We all ate some good food and time was running out. So we went up front and took a couple of pictures and said our good byes.

This is Debbie and Kathy, my sister and little old me.
Hey it was great to send a little time with them and get some what caught up and all that has been happening in our family. It sure was nice.
Well folds I am going to go back to more pictures from before this time and share our stories on what we have been doing.
I really hope and pray everyone out there had a wonderful Thanksgiving and had time to spend with family.
I am still asking for prayers for my buddy Tim that is in ICU still and having a couple of hick ups.
But we all know in the end we have Jesus Christ right along side of us and He will ever leave us or forsake us.
I love you all and pray all is well on your end of the world.

This is a couple of weeks before Halloween.

Well my wife asked e to go down to Walmart and buy some kind of knives for the door displays.

Thye really have come up with many knives and items for Halloween.

There is a door decorating at the school. So her students really got into it. Everyone that saw this door, thought for sure it would have won the contest.

But at the end, sorry they didn't win. I am not sure who did? But I think they did a great job.
I am not into Halloween at all. But as these students here at Westwood high School, they did a good job.
Well by looking at this blog and saying WOW, how did I get this far back on blogging? As our work in the park has dropped a lot. We have not been doing to many jobs, not sure why? But as I have time, I have been helping out at the church, we go to.
They  have two Thrift Stores and there are always item (donations) that are needed to be picked up and brought back to the stores. So right now there are two guys out for surgery. So they are short help.
So my time in the morning as been cut short, going out helping them and spending the day.
I do hav great news about Tim Ryan, he is doing much better.
Up”date” on Tim ❤️
(Day 27 ventilator)

Overnight, Tim’s sleep was still scarce due in part to medication withdrawals and stomach issues.  I’m thankful I’ve been able to stay for the night as he goes through the withdrawals and doesn’t want to be alone. He did get 3-4 hours of sleep in. His stats remained good as he was put back on the ventilator to do the work for the evening.

Our “date” today:
Thank God! Tim had a great day! He was able to maintain his own on his breathing trial and is still doing well. So that means he’s using his own lungs but the ventilator is still hooked up for oxygen and support. He also had physical therapy where they tilted a table to let him put pressure on his feet for a short time and did well with that and some basic exercises. We continue to see God’s healing upon him!

PRAY 🙏
- Thank the Lord for a great day and the progress that has happened.
-for Tim to get stronger each day and continue with improvements in his lungs.
- for a great night of rest. Specifically no terrors or dilutions from drug withdrawals.
- for his mind that wanders at night, instead may it be filled with peace.

Verse of the day:
Psalm 27:13 ~
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!”

Hello again, It has been a while since I have had time to Blog.

Well on this day Oct 24th is our last day of vacation. So we got up and checked out of our hotel room. Had some breakfast there and headed out. We talked about stopping at this flea market a couple of days before. so here w are, just walking around and looking at things.

The real neat thing is that we didn't spend to money here. I think we bought some things for the school (kitchen) strainers. Then left to go meet Laura, our friend.

We have eaten here before. Coming out here, you are driving like downtown area and then you get on this road and it out in the glades. It really was kind a neat to see how close but far away this place is.
This is called The Wild. We meet Laura out here, has we pulled in she was right behind us.

This is Laura, Jeanne and I have been her friend since 2018. She use to be at The ROTC at Westwood High School. She is retired form the Army and lives here in Savannah, GA. She is the one that owns the Mexican Restaurant . Hey we have meet here back two years ago, (I think) and really enjoyed their food and just the view.

It really has a nice homey fell. The service we good and the food too. We didn't order a meal, but appetizers. Just hung out for a hour or more.
Then we had to say our good byes and headed south on 95.
While driving south. We talked about stopping again at Bus-ee's. So here are again.

I think we sent around $200.00 on Christmas item and things. Plus had some great brisket sand wicks.
We back on the road and almost home, I think form here about 10 miles left to go.
While driving and just enjoying our time together and looking forward in our next trip.
Over all this was really needed and we loved it too.
Relaxing and just a great time to enjoy life.
Well folks I have been updating Facebook everyday, since my buddy Tim Ryan has been in the hospital.  Here is another update on how he is doing.
It really looks like he is making a turn for the good.
I tried to copy and paste Tim's up date. But all I can do is copy and paste the web site.

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10223056217226430&id=1610507442&sfnsn=mo
Please take the time and look at this please, PLUS KEEP HIM IN PRAYER.  God is doing something and here and we need to be part of it. PRAYER IS WORKING.

On our way to North Carolina.

As we were driving along, we can see the leaves really not changing as we planned. Jeanne went on line and asked about leaving turning. Well folks we were both very disappointed. Our whole idea about driving north, was to see the truing of leaves.

This was kind a of neat. Jeanne was telling e a story about a guy that lives in this area. I think she told e his name was Bobbie. Well about tens years ago, Bubba (hubby) and Jeanne would go to a Apple Festival in Tennessee. So while there, this Bobbie and his wife had a stand and they all became friends. So every year Jeanne and her hubby would go and meet Bobbie and hang out. So Jeanne is sharing all this with me. We pulled in and saw a guy in a distance. So looking around noticed the farmer's market is closed. But this one guy is walking around. Well guess what. It is Bobbie. He is still open.
Oh this Farmer's Market is in Ashville N.C.
So we drove over to where he was and parked and walked in and yes it was Bobbie.

Well Jeanne and him started talking about the old times. I guess when Bubba was around they realy did have soe fun.
Ok it is time to get going back to Savannah, GA.
I was very tried and not to happy about driving back today. So Jeanne told me that she would drive back. Great, not really. I asked her if we could just get a hotel here, some where?

Well we made it back and it was late. I think we pulled in around 11pm or so?
Well folks we didn't see many fall leaves but did enjoy the ride.
As today is Nov 15th my buddy is still in ICU. Please keep him and his famly in prayer.
Up”date” on Tim
( Day 18 ventilator)

Earlier last evening it was concerning with his heart rate. After putting him on his stomach his heart rate was in the 120’s and it took quite some time to come down.Thankfully today that has been better. Also the last few nights he has been having nose and mouth bleeds; no confirmation on what’s causing it possibly the tube in the mouth or the blood thinners.

Our “date” today: Today is our 8th adoption day anniversary and we surely missed being all together  as a family with him!💕
His stats were good at the beginning of the day but by afternoon had declined some and need to be put back up to 100% for a bit and then eventually down to 60% ventilator, 10 peep resulting in low 90’s oxygen saturation. The bleeds are still happening throughout the day and tonight.

Tomorrow surgery for the tracheotomy is scheduled for the afternoon. God has blessed us with a wonderful surgeon who also shared a prayer with us when she consulted on the procedure. The Lord answered our prayers with someone kind and compassionate to do Tims surgery.

PRAY 🙏
- for the surgeon and surgery tomorrow to be God led in wisdom and go smoothly.
- for Tims body to do well  with the surgery and that this procedure will help him have more comfort and be beneficial in his recovery.
- protection of organs, mind and body from all of the medications side affects.

Verse of the day: Ephesians 3:14-19
“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
