I took these pictures awhile back.

I was on my way to Aldi's one day. Thinking this happen maybe two months ago. I was going thru some of my pictures, trying to put them in files so I can down load them. So I saw a boat in the middle of the road. Wow. 

I got a little closer and thinking this is crazy 

Okay the boat is heading south. The truck is head north. I think the trailer is mixed in there too. Something you don't see to often??

Well today is Saturday and I am just going to hang out at home and rest my knee. I have been having a young  lady (Jan) come over everyday, since Monday of this last week. She specialized in Lymphedema Therapy. 

I need to drink 8 liter water bottles each day. She brings in her massage table and I lay on it and she starts  pushing downwards with her hands. From the top of my throat, then does the same on my arms. Then goes to the bottom of my legs and pushes upwards. What she is trying to do is push the fluids out of my leg back into my Lymph Glands. 

Here are the measurements we started with.

She will be back tomorrow and prayerfully it will keep going down. 

Folks this has been a rough road so far. I just want to get back to work and maybe play some tennis or ride my bike Just want to be back to normal. 

 

 

These two are from my passed.

This is Don and Richard. Yes I have known these two for over 50 years. Yes it is crazy to think 50 years has gone by. Well Don and I have known each other since I was 7 years old. I even have a video of him at my 7th birthday party. Richard and I meet in high school. Mean while Don, Richard and I use to live together, back in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Don was going to University Of Michigan.  I think Richard, was going to school in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I think he was into music. I know he use to play the violin. I have lost contact with him over the years. But I know Don kept track of him.  

Well Don text me on August 14th telling me that him and his wife Meg were in Ann Arbor visiting her family. So I guess Don hooked up with Richard and they made a day of playing golf and just getting caught up on their lives. Don told me that 25% of the game actually hit the ball. The rest of the time, he sucked, but it was a great golf course and few golfers, It was ideal. Those are his words. 

Okay back to Richard,  I introduced him to his wife back in the 70's I was working at Kinney Shoes at Ann Arbor Mall, or it could have been Blairwood Mall ? I think it was Ann Arbor Mall, she was one of our sale girls there and her name is Jill. Sorry to say, I really don't remember much about their relationship. But I know they have been together ever since. 

Oh well I love to share and see how things worked out. 

Okay my fellow friends out there. I just want to tell you that Our Lord Jesus Christ loves you and He is right along side of you and what you are going thru. 

Talk with HIM. It doesn't have be any thing fancy or eloquent, speech. Just talk with Him like I am talking with you. 

 

The week before school opened up, (August 5th) they had a Open House for all of the students and parents.

 

This is my little girls' table. You can see we had Ice Tea and cookies. The little pig is sitting in a frying pan. He is the bacon we cook. See the red clothes, that is our fire under the pans. It really was a good turn out. I think we baked the whole case of Snickerdools. I had to make up two more batches of ice tea too. 

The Football Cheerleaders, did their show out in the court yard. 

As I walked back and forth to the kitchen and back, I was taking different pictures of what was going on. 

 I was walking thru here about eight times to get back into the Culinary area. Here (Cafeteria) was the place to sign up for your classes you might want this year? 

The open house went well. I know at the end I was very tried walking back and forth. 

But at the end it was worth our time. The students enjoyed the cookies and I guess was were the only ones handing out anything to drink. I know we went thru all of it, pretty much. 

Well today is Aug 18th and school has been open now for two weeks, almost. 

Jeanne has been very busy trying to get this new year starting up correct and with some fun too. Like today I went in and helped get the morning started, she had two students in there ready to make scramble eggs and omelets too. Jeanne always try to get students to come in earlier in the morning to be part of the Breakfast Club. On odd days, we make breakfast sandwiches for the teaches that want a hot and fresh croissant with bacon or sausage plus cheese. For $3.50. Or get a some grits with cheese. for $2.00. Plus we sell muffins and bagels and cream cheese and other items folks like. 

We sell these things so Jeanne will have funds in her account to but other foods and thing so the kids can cook and learn how to. 

So this Breakfast Club is here to help us make up the sandwiches and clean up afterwards too. This way the kitchen is ready for the first class to come in and do something. 

Overall Jeanne main idea is to show these students how to cook and serve and just be able to learn what happens in a restaurant and other facilities, alike. Plus she is teaching the program called ServSafe. This is a program that each and every restaurant needs to have ad least one staff that has passed it to keep the kitchen open. The students get to study for the test and take practice test too. 

I think she is planning on giving out the test for certification five to six times this year. The reason, the students really want to pass this and be able to get the certification. This passed Summer the ones that make up the test for ServSafe have lowered the score to 70 to pass. It has been 75 for many years and I guess they just want to help the students to get this under their belt before graduate from high school. 

I am listening to Christian music, The song that is playing now is PRAISE THE LORD. Folks we all need to call on to Our Lord for help and praise HIM too. 

We bought some cherries last week and wow.

I don't think I have ever seen cherries this huge? That is Jeanne thumb and compare? 

 

There is a store called Aldi's. I think we stop there ad least once a week to just see what they have. Just like we bought that air conditioner a couple of weeks ago? Some great deals. 

Okay back to the cherries, these were on sale for $2.99 a pound. That to us is a great price for cherries. 

I see them in Publix for $4.99 a pound. Okay how can we go wrong? Last week we bought four bags. These last Sunday we were out and got another five bags, 

I guess we really do enjoy them? 

So folks how is things going? On my end of the world life is good. But I know many are getting all worked up about what happen this last week-end in Mar-a-Lago. It really does sound like the FBI is really trying to destroy President Trump. 

We all need to remember, WHO REALLY IS IN CONTROL? 

Our Lord Jesus Christ and He has a plan. 

My prayer for all of us, is to just keep trusting Him. The only place to get any peace is thru HIM. 

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you: my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give you. Let not your hearts be trouble, neither let them be afraid. 

We have a part in His plan, like right now, the voting booths are open and we need to do our part in getting President Trump back into to the White House. Plus getting the Republican Party back in control of Congress. 

So please do your part.

We have been having some trouble getting air conditioning into our bedroom.

Jeanne and I went for a ride to see what is new at Aldi's Grocery Store. The reason is we needed more milk and a couple of other items. So let's go to Aldi's? Their milk is always cheaper than Walmart. $3.29 a gallon?  

Got there and got our items and saw these air conditioners on sale, $229.99. for $59.99?? Wow that sound to to good to be true. We put a new air conditioner in our home last August. Then I think in December we had them come back and put in all new duct work. Thinking, maybe that will help us get more air into the rooms that really aren't? Like our bedroom. it is right next to the air handler and it should be getting the coldest there? Okay spending $59,99, why not give it a shot. 

Opened it up and made sure all the parts were here. Then went out side an made it happen. I took the one bottom glass panel out and, cut some 1/4 plywood up to fit the hole. I cut three different sizes. This way I can sandwich them into the glass frame. Which it worked out great. It took e a couple of smaller cuts to make is fit. It looks like it is going to work just great. Took me a about hour or so to get it all set up. 

Only problem I had was I only had three staples to hold the piece of screen in. I need to go buy another staple gun. The reason is I bought staples but they would not go all the way into the gun. I took them back and go my money back on them. 

Okay this has many controls. It cools, Dehumidifiers and even just runs a fan. I would love to run the dehumidifier but I need to have a rubber hose running outside. Plus gravity feed. Which will not happen. We have cement walls and I am no aloud to drill a hole into them. I thought about asking Jeanne, but why rock the boat 

It seems to be working just great. 

Now to can see how much my baby loves this unit. SEE 73 Degrees. She is very happy and I am too. The rooms stays cool during the night and we just turn it off during the day. 

It is a nice looking unit too. 

Okay a couple of days after I installed this, we went back to our Aldi's to see if they have any more? Sorry all sold out. So we made a plan to going to all the Aldi's in this area. Which we did and all sold out. We found out we have three in our area. 

The reason we wanted to get a couple of other units, down the road we might want to put one in the bedroom farness room away from the handler. Maybe even sell them on Craigslist? 

Oh well wasn't going to happen. 

Well Jeanne and I have been working at the school now for a couple of days. Yesterday I put up a bunch of pictures we bought for her classroom. and I will be sharing those in the next couple of days. 

Over all life is good and JESUS LOVES YOU. 

 

I forgot to share with you about how the tent is doing?

We got a great little shower and no leaks I can see? So I was telling a while back this tent had some leaks in it. 

I know when I took this picture it just stopped raining. But by looking at it now, it doesn't even wet? 

Well the table is dry and that is all I need to check for leaks. The reason is, we really like sitting out here, but since the tent was leaking. It really has been able to use. Prayerfully this week-end we will get to sit out here and relax and just hang out. We are very blessed to have such a nice yard and be able to have folks over, to enjoy it. 

Just a up date on y knee. It really has been a rough road and it sees like it is taking forever to heal up. 

But to say it is 100%, not even close. I can bend it to around 90 degrees and straighten it back out. 

I go to therapy and they work their very hard to bend it and straighten out again. 

Plus I have been going to Planet Fitness and doing some ore work on it. 

I get on here and try to bend my knee and keep it in place for a while or so. 

I started out with #5 and got is to #2. It is bending and staying there. I does hurt, doing this, but folks I am near the end of my rope. I need to get back walking correctly and being able to just enjoy riding the old bike again. maybe even play some tennis? I know I have a lot of scar tissue around the knee cap. So I need to get it worked out and get back to life again. 

 

Remember the tent?

I went out to Walmart and bought 4 cans of this water proofer. I don't anything on the can saying water proofer, but prayerfully it will help stop soe of the rain drops from coming thru the tent. 

I used 3 1/2 cans to spray it twice and like I said, hopefully it will work. 

I put two covers on it and let it dry. Now the test will be held later on today. I will get the garden hose and see what happens. 

Over all thing are doing well here, if Jeanne's family here. They are on the go, each and everyday. They have been to the beach and today going to visit Christa's sister up in Vero Beach. 

It has been some fun, too. We went out to dinner last night and had a wonderful Mexican meal. 

Okay this is our evening to go out aand enjoy the family and just get a bite to eat. 

My baby had the Pineapple something She really did enjoy it, wishing it had more pineapple in it? 

I got Chicken Fajitas. Which were very good. I even had saved one fajita for lunch the next day. 

Not sure what happen to this picture. Maybe I has to much sun coming in Oh well this our saying good bye. They were heading home on Thursday afternoon. They had a couple of stop before getting on the plane. They had to drive to Okeechobee, Florida to drop off Kane. That is where Chris's next wife lives.Plus they had to drive up to Vero Beach to drop off the cr they were using. I think it was one of Christa's sister's cars?  

Well they made it all home okay. 

Today is Sunday Aug 7th Crazy how fast the time is going. Prayerfully this week will go smooth and school will start with out any problems. I will be sharing pictures of Open House on Friday night. Aug 5th. . 

 

This last Saturday afternoon. Family get together.

This is my little girl, Jeanne. Hey folks we just smoked some ribs and sausages. Many different favors of sausages. 

Chris and his family came from Iowa. Kane lives in Okeechobee,  Florida. Brook is Christa is daughter and she lives in Fort Pierce area. 

So I am trying to say Chris and Christa are from Iowa. Their time is winding down. They flew in on Thursday and leaving this Thursday. 

Over all their plans were to go out and get to some good restaurants, I guess back in Iowa, these places are not around.  So it really has been some fun having these folks around here. Really is nice family stopping by here. Jeanne and I believe this is God's home. So will want to use this home for gatherings. You know Thanksgiving and Christmas. So we love using our back patio and our back yard. 

Folks Please get right with your family and friends. 

 

Not sure, but I think this was Saturday July 23rd.

This is really early on Saturday morning 5am. Started the fire and put the brisket and pork roast. 

The temps are coming up, we need 170 degrees. 

Well I started cleaning up the patio and the screen room. Get it all ready for family and friends get together. 

Well Jeanne and I kept checking the weather for the day, it keeps telling us, rain is on it way. 

So we put up our tent. Now looking back, I am not worried about the rain. Just incase if it rains, we have all our bases covered.  

The brisket came out beautiful. 

Okay the family and friends asked if we could eat inside? Found out the the tent leaks. 

Everything went great. All enjoyed the food and the company was good too. 

All this looks great and now really don't have much to clean up. Just the grill. 

Then put all the chairs and things away. 

This last Saturday we had a get together in our back yard again.
