This was our Saturday night Home Coming at CCA

These are a couple of items that we needed to stage before hand.

This is some what set now.

This is up stairs called the Attic. They had candy on the table there for free. Then you can see this is our youth room. Bible teaching goes in here, normally.

There was two people doing Charter drawings.

On the TV screens they put all kinds of old stuff on there. The theme for the dance was 70's,80's and 90's. There were all kinds of dress up. Even some of the teachers got into it.

This is called the HUB. During the day and when there is Bible teaching going on, We sell food.

tonight everything was free, plus ice cream. I really enjoy this part of the night.

There was Bobby taking picture for every one to take home to remember that night.

This room is called HSM room. That means High School Ministry  Room.

They had line dancing in here, plus games along the walls.

This is back in the gym again, Some great sounding music going on all night long.

If you look at the sign, it said NO HIGH HEELS ALOUD IN GYM. The reason is our gym has rubber floor. It would disstroy  it with high heels. Poking  holes through out.

This is a shot from back on the stage. The students looked like they really had a wonderful time. I know I enjoyed the time the watching and even jumping a little while the music was playing. 

Now it is 12;30am  break down time.

It really went well, we had many people stay to help us. The tables and  chairs all got back in place. Brandon, Scott and I stayed back and put as much stuff away as possible. The reason is what is left over night, it would need to be put away before service time at 8 am on Sunday the next day. So the many hands really was a joy to see we as event guys got out by 1:30 am. Which to me was a blessing. I just know I was ready to sleep and get up the next morning and do some more work at 9 am. 

As yesterday went pretty good. At the end I was ready for bed at 7 pm last night.But had to do a couple of things first, wash my clothes. Now up again at 5:30am to do this blog and e mails. Will be leaving here at 7 am to do that work tings again. 

Had a chance to hook up with some old friends

This is the Embassy Suites on 17th Cause Way in Fort Lauderdale, Fl 

I got there for breakfast, but I only got some coffee. It really was neat to see these guys smiling faces again. I was in Nassau about three weeks ago. So it really has not been that long, but still good to see them. Most Saturday morning about third of these guys would come out for Men's Bible study at Calvary Bible. 

This is Jorge and his asst Shameena. They are both from a Home Depot right down the road from here. Jorge is a store manager and Shameena is a sales person for Expots. So she really was there to help if these guys want to ship any thing back over to Nassau. Both them were every much helpful in what they know what to do. Now Jorge gave a couple of examples on how and what drill to use for different things like on wood, steel and even concert. 

As he was explaining theses things I had a chance to help him with different items I didn't think the guys were getting it. I hope he didn't mind? I did write to him and asked him? I have not heard back from him yet.

The guys had a chance to use each of the drills that Jorge brought with him. It really was a good class and I believe these guys got it too. As i go around the room, most of them, don't do their own work on repairs and stuf around the house. So this way they had a chance to se and maybe even buy some items they always wanted to, but never knew what they needed.

 

The guys had a nice gift for him too. As Bahamians they love to show others how much they enjoyed what the others have given them with gifts. 

I just  love these guys and will miss them. But over all it really was fun to see and just hang out them for a short time. I needed to get home and take a nap, before I was to go to work last night.

These guys will be here until Monday, maybe will see them again before then? 

What a beautiful night to have a Football game.

I had a chance to have a little break at McDonalds, this morning. While walking by this car I was thinking, how do you drink this? Very long straw? 

I was thinking about Cost Right in the Bahamas, when I saw this. I use to buy half this amount of chicken for this price? I was going to buy it, but thinking where can I store this big package? I only have one shelf in the freezer to use? 

Okay off to work. We are setting up for Home Coming that takes place tonight at Calvary Chapel. So while Brandon is eating lunch. I was thinking, how do I get all these tables plus the cart over to the Youth Building? Why not us a couple of bungee cords to hold it in place and just drag it over there? It worked by His grace. 

This is the staging area for al the stuff that is needed. First load.

Had to go out to the foot ball game to see how things are going? All seems well. 

brandon got back form lunch and we kick some more butt. This is everything that is needed to make this Home Coming go off with out a hitch. Prayerfully we got all that is needed. Like I said Prayerfully, there is always something else? So ad least we are a head of the game. 

When out to break down all the tables and chairs. That we set up before the game. Man the place was packed. It really is neat to see all the partners and people to come out and support the teams.. I know there were people from the other team there too. But in the end we won, I think 47 to 6? CCA Eagles have won 7 games in a roll, that is this season. It might be a lot more? I know when we first started the football program,, 2003? We have always had a wonderful team and pretty much won every game back then. 

It really shows how our partners get involved, wonderfully.

Okay folks today is the big day, Saturday. I will be going in at 4 pm and working until the party is over in the gym, Home Coming is apond us. Plus we will be finishing set up the Volunteer Weekend too. 

Hey just a note, this morning I have the opportunity to go see my old friends from Calvary Bible. That right there is a Men's Retreat going on down at the Embassy Hotel on the 17th Causeway. In Fort Lauderdale, Fl. I will be leaving right after I finish this blog and really am excited to see the guys. 

This is kind of interesting.

I was driving along and saw this. The plate reads Nov 20,2014. Not sure if this works or not? 

That right Bahamians, we have all the 8th graders coming your way in Jan or Feb, Not really sure when. But I saw this sign up on the third floor of the high school. It just made me think of all of these students lives changing after a trip over there. I will be asking if they are serving COUCH? This dinner they do is a way to raise funds for the trip. I sure pain on being there. 

Well folks I have told you about having a job. Well let me explain a little more. Just this set up alone. Well there is a ladies ministry that meets in here every Thursday day. During the morning time. they video the whole thing. The reason is in another room. There is mommy's that have small babies, they watch the class from there. This way the babies that have some issues will not disturb the other ladies. So this room needs broken done before hand. 6 tables and 60 chairs are pulled out. Then the where the mommies are, put four rockers in there and make sure all it set for the day. Then like last night pull the rockers out and set the room back up for the next class that was needed last night.Then the South Banquet Hall need to put the tables and chairs back in there. This way the room is ready for next class for today.

What I do each day is to make sure the classes are set the way the teachers want. Sometimes that is possible and sometimes not. I can tell you one thing, I sure have some fun too. These people that use these rooms are very willing to help too. Now in the other part of the school, we need to bring chairs in and move the desk around. Then come back and reset it. 

Over all I have the opportunity to serve and see their smiling faces in the end. 

Now if you think of us at all this week-end, PLEASE say a couple of prayers for us. 

There is many things going on at the church. 

Home Coming, The gym needs many thing set up and broken down. Foot ball game plus

Volunteer Week-end, Set up tents and tables, lights for the night time around the tents. This is for different ministries trying to get people to help out at different events that go on around the church.

Reveal that goes in in the sanctuary after service tomorrow night.

Plus classes that normally go on too. 

My hours have chance just for this week-end. So I guess I will be getting some over time? 

Folks I am very blessed to be back here and my prayer is I am serving with His heart.

I am looking out my window and see this. I am so blessed to be able to wake up and look out and see this sly line. 

As for yesterday, I had off and I think I am caught up on e mails. It took me a while, reason is I 'm a slow on the key board. I know my home keys, but I still only use three fingers to do most of the typing. 

I was hoping to get a couple of pictures from my buddy back at ALC. They were working on the bridge yesterday. That is what I think they did? You never know, there are things that pop up and say, well I guess we need to work on this now? 

I get to go to Calvary this afternoon and see what is happening and use the gifts He has given me to help out. 

I believe Pastor Doug will be teaching on the Minor Prophets tonight?  

Just a NOTE

Folks I have written over 500 people about my new address. So I hope you can understand why it is taking me so long to response to your e mail? Please if I have not written back, I hope to in the next week. Like I said, there was over 500 one shot e mail to all. The only reason I did that, I just want to keep in touch with everyone out there and I know not all look at my blog. But the ones that do. Thank you for all that wrote back to me.

As our days are getting shorter

I walked out of my room and just looked up and the sun was gone already. Wow, what a beautiful sky line. 

As I work at Calvary, I really don't have any pictures to take. The reason is children are in them and I don't want to cause trouble. As yesterday was starting out, the high school had a parade around the the school. Most of them dressed in 90's out fits. Really saw a neat looking costumes. 

Okay not a God story movie at all. But it still was a nice love story. There is no swearing, no sex and plus no God at all. But still was entertainment.

The verses I was reading this morning put me back on track,

 Mark 8:36 What good is it for a man to gain the world, yet forfeit his soul.

As I have been working at the church this last week. Well last night the frozen pack came out. My knees are hurting and a friend of mine reminded me about the frozen food ting. When you have pains no need for a ice pack, use what you have in your freezer. Then the wash cloth with some water on it and micro wave it. It works great. The old knees are ready for another day. Off to work I go. Bye

I am sorry to say I didn't get to hear him last night. But if it was any thing like his books, wow. I will watch it on line tonight. The reason I was not here, I had a wonderful time spending it with my favor niece and her other half. I hope to have pictures of them today and I will share tomorrow, more on what that was all about.

But as my day is starting out, I have been asking Him for strength and wisdom. The reason is, I am having fun and is this what it is all about?

Hey what happen to the bridge? Oh that right we have had a couple of rotten spots on it. So I guess this is it now. It really didn't cost as much as I thought, you know I was figuring around $300.00 for lumber. But why not, just two boards and that should work great. Now maybe we could put two more boards downs, so they don;t fall into the water, so easily. But it looks good to me,

Maybe I need to come back and help a little more? 

Folks I have been working at the church now, since Thursday and my knees are getting better every day. The more I walk, I feel physically much better too, maybe even lost a couple of pounds?

I stil have not taken any pictrues

I was thinking what can I share with you all. How about Jesus? This is the best of both worlds, His love and what it means to share or witness about Him.

Well last night was my first day as a staff member of Calvary Chapel. I really am excited about my new ministry/job. As my afternoon start out, first had a couple of meeting with others. Then had a chance to start this new adventure, that is making sure this place is ready for service. I pretty much worked with Scott and Jeremy as we set up class rooms and just walking around. Got a couple calls, but nothing to hard to fix. 

Over all I really did enjoy yesterday. Now my knees and feet have another story to share. But I am up this morning and ready to rock and roll. I get to do it again this afternoon. 

One think I have been thinking about how do I share pictures of the church and staff? I really can not do it. These people don't know me and I don't want to cause any problem taking their pictures. So I guess the time I will be sharing pictures is when I do personal things. Maybe a event? But in the long haul, I might not have any pictures for a while. I am sorry for that.

Hello all

I am sorry but I have not taken any pictures since I got back here. I am asking for a prayer or two. As my day starts out, I will be, start working at Calvary Chapel this afternoon, 1 pm. I really am excited and a little nervous too. But He is the One that has set this in motion. So I will follow through and see all the neat things He has planned out for me.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God cause everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Oh if you don't know what i will be doing at Calvary, that makes two of us??? Just joking, I will be one of the set up and break down guys for events of any kind there. So I will be able to us my brain and strength. That is a good thing, I need to loose a few pounds too. Walking around and making sure all is well, is going to be a challenge too. As I did work at ALC, most of everything I did was in one or two spots, in the area. Okay legs here we go.
