Things are wrapping up around this area.

This is Carol's house. She has hurricane shutters on the other side of the house. But she got this side of shutters last year. She has been meaning to ask me to put them up. But as Roy and I have the time and put her on the schedule. So we started up pretty early this morning and here we go. We have never put the hardware up before. But by looking at the one that are up already, we will be in good shape. As long as you hit some solid wood, Should be great.

See I think it looks good, plus is it strong too.

On her front door we need to mount them there too.

This is Diane's house. We worked on her's yesterday. There was one clam shell that the bolts rusted up and we could not get them off. So I needed the sawzall to cut them off. All is well and she is tickled pink.

Okay moving on to our next home. This is Margo's. She is up in the Boston area, (Cape Cod) So she called me a couple of times to make sure I got them up.

We even cleaned up her patio and what ever else was laying around. She is set now.

This is Grace's home, she is in Detroit until Oct. So Richie is her neighbor across the street. He asked Roy and I if we could put them up? No problem. she had all that was needed to get the up and ready.
From here we went over to Janice's dad's home. He has clam shells awnings. These were very easy to get down and secure. Hey this is the place I will be saying during the storm. I will take some pictures of his home tomorrow. As we have food and water and gas stove and even a generator. Now not sure about the generator. It has not been running since 2004. I looked at it and the gas was drained out. Today I will buy five gallons of gas and see what happens.
The sad part is, if I knew about the generator, I would have checked it out before today. Oh well God is running the show. Janice told me during Matthew he didn't loose his power. Pray we will not too. But if we do, we have a whole freezer full of food and we will be eating good.

This is just one of the gas stations I drove by last night.

Roy and I had to go to the bank and deposit the checks I got for some the work. Plus pay him what he is due. We both made $300. each in two and half days. Not bad.
OH look that the duct tape they put on their windows. Not really going to help, that I know of.

One of the neighbors in the park here. Had tape on his windows too.
Prayerfully the storm will break up and we will be in good shape.
I will try to keep you all posted on what is happening around here.

I just love when our LORD Jesus speaks to ME, maybe even YOU.

This was my morning devotion. Look at the date Sept 7th, that is TODAY FOLKS.
He is in CONTROL.

Wednesday was a great day to help others out. Plus made a couple of bucks too.

This is my neighbor's home, Brenda. I heard Jon, (her boy friend) out on the side of the house. He was talking to someone, it was not God. He was trying to put the shutters on her house. Well I just stopped over to see what all the noise was about. Found out the rail that hold the top of the shutter in. It needs some bending out a little. So got my channel lock pliers, and did a little pulling in it. Hey we ended up bending everyone of them. But the shutters are up and she is ready for HURRICANE IRMA. Maybe the next time they will just slide in?

As the hurricane is getting closer. The people are getting a little more aggressive, attitude. We got a truck load of water in yesterday afternoon. Around 1 pm. I am not sure how much. But I saw ad least 15 pallets Now these are all different brands and shapes. Pallets of gallons. and then different small bottles.
So I was picked to be the Water Czar. That means I would bring the pallet of water out, near the back door of the store. Then while the people came up I would ask one or two case? There was a couple of them saying WHY only two cases. I explained, we want to make sure everyone has ad least a case. So it was a little challenging. But it was kinda of fun too. Most folks were just happy to get a couple of cases.

In less than 45 minutes I went thru three pallets. I told Robert (store manger) that I needed to get going at 2 pm. He understood and he was very happy I show up. The reason I say that is. I called him on Tuesday and asked if I could take the day off? He asked me, Please come in. So I went in for 4 hours.
I got home and Roy pulled up and we went out and put up shutter until dark.

This is Maria's home. Medal shutters.

This is Danielle's house. She has clam shells and wood shutter.

The last house for Tuesday was Dianne's house. She is in Texas now, working. So she called me and asked to do a couple of things for her. Pull down her clam shells. Clean the refrigerator out and take all the glass tables and tv out of the Florida room. Then put them in the living room for now.
At the end of the day, I believe Roy was just as tired as I was.
Now as I am sitting here, I am making up a list of what to to happen today. I know of 3 house so far., want their shutter put up.
I just looked at the weather channel and it is not looking to good for the Bahamas.
PLEASE KEEP THEM IN PRAYER.  They are the next to be visited by HURRICANE IRMA.

Well if you have not heard, we have a hurricane coming to town.

I can tell you this, the folks here are starting to get a little anxious. So Roy and I have started putting up shutters. This was our first home It really was pretty simple. The shutter fix and there was only a couple of bolts not working.

It really is rewarding to see it ready and prayerfully will ride out the storm.

I even put most of mine up already. the reason is the phone will be ringing all the way up to Sunday. It is a beautiful thing to be able to help others and even make a buck or two.

I just love when our Lord speaks to me and maybe even to you????
Fear is what is driving folks crazy around here now. Fear NOT. Joshua 1:9

Will You Stand in the GAP?

Then the Lord said, "I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are. Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation."—Exodus 32:9–10

Up on Mount Sinai, God effectively said to Moses, “I’ve had it. I’m going to destroy these people.”
The Israelites had witnessed God’s miracles, yet they still turned to idolatry. I would suggest that Moses was their first idol, while the golden calf was their second, evidenced by the fact that they turned to false worship when Moses left them to go up the mountain.
Moses pleaded with the Lord, “Why are you so angry with your own people whom you brought from the land of Egypt with such great power and such a strong hand? Why let the Egyptians say, ‘Their God rescued them with the evil intention of slaughtering them in the mountains and wiping them from the face of the earth’? Turn away from your fierce anger” (Exodus 32:11, 12).
So God relented. What happened? Did Moses talk God out of something? Not at all. He was testing Moses. I think God was basically saying, “Moses, do you understand that I want someone to stand in the gap and intercede for my people? Are you going to stand up for these people right now?”
This was a test for Moses, and he passed it. He prayed. He interceded. That is what we need to be doing as believers. We need to pray for people, and we need to care about people.
When was the last time you prayed for your unbelieving friends and neighbors? When was the last time you prayed for your unbelieving family members? When was the last time you pleaded with God for the salvation of their souls?

God is still looking for intercessors today. He is still looking for people who will pray for others. God is still looking for people to stand in the gap and speak up for Him.

The sad part is I have not been praying for them. Thank you for the reminder, Walter.

We were invited to Linda and Wayne's 50th Anniversary

These are the newly weds.

As Rosy and Al put on this real nice shindig. These are some of the pictures from Linda and Wayne's life. If you look there really is no current photos.
But to see they had made it to 50 years? That is a beautiful thing.

I am not sure how many came out but there was about 20 folks. This is Linda sharing a story about their lives. She made up this dress to show off different things they did. They were embroidered on her dress.  I think one was from their prom. Then a 57 Chevy that Wayne owned. There were others things on it too. But as I sit here nothing else comes to mind.

This is Rosy. Her and her boy friend (Al) put this whole party together. Then she read them their vows and they excepted them again, after 50 years.
It really was a nice turn out and the rain stayed away.

It sure was a beautiful day.

Janice and her grandson and his friend drove over to Hutchinson Island. we stopped at the Jaycee Park there. Janice has told me about this place to go kayaking.
We just dropped the kayaks and was watching these folks setting up this Jet pack.

Okay we have three kayaks and four people. Janice offered to take her grandson friend on the back of her kayak. Hey if I was more sure of my kayaking skills, I would have taken him instead of her. But as I climbed into my kayak, I am still not that stable. As I was riding out, my thoughts are if I flip over???

There were some waves. But we made it up a ways and turned around and came back. It really was a enjoyable ride.

As we got closer to the loading area, I was thinking, I want to go back out after lunch.
I didn't fall out. That was the most enjoyable ride yet.

We had lunch and just enjoy talking about our ride and I really enjoyed it.
The boys went to the playground and stayed there for a while. Then it was time to get going back home.
Hey I am ready again to go out and build up my skills. Plus fight my fear too.
Joshua 1:9 I command you-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

One of my favorite stores. Harbor Freight.

I think, about three years ago. Right after I got back into the states, I bought this small air compressor. I got it at harbor Freight. I think the price was $8.99. Well this last week I got it out to pump up my tires on the bike. I noticed it would not go pass 100 psi. I usually pump up to 110 psi in the tires.
Okay lets go back to Harbor Freight and see what happens?
Got there and they replaced it. FREE. Plus I got some other items then too.
I bought wire ties and a bag of paint brushes.

You can see at the end I only had to pay $2.33 for everything in the picture.
Stared yesterday's Labor Day sale there.

The full coupon is 25% off on Labor day and 20% off Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Then if you buy something you can get one of these items for FREE.

I need a couple of saw horses. So this should be a great deal.
