Since we have had Presley, he has been trying to escape.

Back in August I fastened pieces of 1/4" plywood to the bottom of all the gates we have. Plus used cement blocks some places too. Hey, he is a small dog and I have always had larger dogs before. Never thought he would try to leave all this land we have and try it a couple of times. The sad part I know he will keep trying. 

You can see how he is thinking, how can I escape??? He found a few ways. I needed to button the areas up with wire ties and different ways. 

So, this last Saturday I decided to put up these plastic barriers. I took the plywood off and drilled out hole in the plastic pieces and used wire ties to hold them in place.  

Plus, a couple of the gates I lowered down so that works too. 

Here I need to keep blocks here. The reason is the gates swing both ways. We have a pitbull dogs.  on both sides of our property and they try to get in and play with Presley sometimes. Here Smokey tries to dig under the gates. plus, like I said he can push the gates open. I even had to put a brick in the area he loves to dig. 

These gates are needed to open and close. We have a lawn service that cuts our grass, and they need to get in without any trouble for them too. 

This is one of the gates I just lowered and there really no hole under it anymore. 

Folks today I wanted to take my wife south to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. 

But first of all, we started out and realized there was a few things I didn't do before leaving. So, we turned around and watched it online. It was done very well. I am so proud of being part of that church and even working there. The most important part of being part of Calvary was, I gave my life to Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savor on Oct 26th, 1996. 

This day, they did praise and worship and there were a few folks that came back to be there to share their stories of how they got to be part of Calvary. That brough back many memories and thoughts on how I was very blessed to be part of this story too. I worked there from 1999 to 2005. Then was a missionary for them to go to Bahamas. I was (I believe) called there to help out. I was there for 9 years. Then came back and work at Calvary 2014 to 2016. So, this church has been part of my whole Christian life. 

Looking back and seeing how God use so many people to be part of Calvary back then and still. 

The only regret I have is NOT KNOWING JESUS YEARS BEFORE. 

But God's plan is HIS PLAN. Thank you, Lord. 

 

This is the third project for Eugene. Nov 4 to the 6th.

Okay prayerfully this will be the last project here. This is still Eugene's house. Like I said before in the first blog. He bought this house and knew it needed a new roof. So, I am back again to replace this wall in his bedroom. Same water damage. The paneling is dried out, and it is falling apart. 

I don't think I showed you the plugs that are built into the mobile homes. (1984) The wire is 12 gauge and very heavy wire. This way they can run it thought the whole house and hook up the air conditioner and dryer and whatever is needed down the road. Then look at how the wire just snaps in and the butterflies that hold it into the paneling. No studs to hold the box. The funny part is most of the time the wire is very short and a pain to work with. But all three of these walls there has been plenty of wire to work with. 

I just pulled it out to tear out the walls. 

This 2x4 is completely shot. I will replace this one. 

You can see how heavy this 12-gauge wire really is. The next day I will put in a junction box and run a wire out of it to the outlet. 

Where you see gaps in the siding, I will spray foam into them and seal them up. 

This is day one. I just wanted to see what I will need and go home and be back the next day. 

I did buy another kind of foam spray. It was called Loctite Tite Foam window and door spray foam. Folks this worked so much better. It has adhesion. The funny thing is it really does stick to the wall. You can see how much better it filled in and stayed where I spray it. 

I installed a new 2x4 and put some sister boards on each 2x4 and any other shots that needed to be reinforced. Then put in brand new insulation and that junction box too. Then ran a wire off for the outlet box. 

Boy this was so much easier I just stapled the insulation in and it stayed right in place. When using old insulation, it falls down and just not that easy to work with. Next job like this I will but new. I really do try to save the customer some money by using old things if I can make them work. 

The funny part was I finished this up on Wednesday afternoon. But I forgot to buy a electric outlet and face plate. So, I will need to come back on Thursday.

Oh, when I came back Eugene asked if I could finish putting up the floor molding that he started a while back. Which I did. I forgot to take a real finished job picture. But you can image what it looks like.  

Folks I have been so blessed to have small jobs like this and make a few bucks. 

That is how OUR LORD PROVIDES FOR US. 

Isaih 61;3 To all who mourn in Israel, He will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. For the Lord has planted them like strong and graceful oaks for his own glory. 

This is my prayers for New York City. 

What amazes me is how Jewish folks live in that city. Google tells me,

"New York City is home to the largest Jewish population outside of Isreal with nearly a million calling the metropolis home." 

How can this be to have this guy be the Mayor of New York City???? 

 

 

This is the fist job I had for Eugene.

Eugene bought this house a while ago. Right after moving he noticed the roof had a few leaks. I am not sure when, but he had the roof replaced. Then he called me, he asked Roy and I to replace a couple of window trims.  

It's really nice to get another job with Eugene. Well back when Roy and I repaired those window trims. He told me that down the road he would call to repair the walls. So, I am back here and really this wall is needed some real fixing. 

I reaped out all the rotted-out lumber. 

I put a 1"x 4" board along the bottom. There was a electric outlet box. You can see the wire sticking up from the floor. 

All I did with this wall was just replaced what was dry rooted. I think it all came out looking pretty good. 

Now Eugene, asked to take a look in the front room. Guess what I did next? 

Man, there is so much damage lumber. 

There are three electric wires coming up form under the house. Just letting you know. These wires that run thru out the whole trailer is 12 gauge. Most houses only have 14 gauge. The funny thing is, the larger the wire smaller the gauge. So, this 12 is pretty thick and it's not that easy to work with. Now having three wires to deal with i decided to put in and junction box. This is where all three wires are wrapped together and then you run a lead wire off of it and run that to the outlet or whatever else you are using. It's all in and ready to rock and roll.

 

I dropped down the insulation. put the new paneling under the window. I was really getting tiered, so I told Eugene I will be back on Tuesday morning. This is Friday afternoon. I need to go to my dentist on Monday morning. 

It's Saturday and Jeanne was working on schoolwork, and I asked if I could go finish up Eugene's living room? Sure can. I drove over and just finished it up. 

This is the juncktion box I put in and ran the wire out to hook up the outlet too. 

Hooked the outlet up. 

It is so, nice to finish a job and head back home to do a couple of things with your wife. 

Folks I know sometimes I try to share things with you. This is very simple to understand.

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, do not depend on your own understanding, (6) Seek HIS WILL in all you do, and HE will direct your path. 

Please ask Jesus Christ into YOUR HEART. 

HE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH.
