Edison and his wife had this on one of the shelves of a book case. I took a real close look at it. Not sure if this has the same motor for a clock or not? If that is what controls this. Wouldn't it stay the same each day? Not sure. I do know it works. Every time I went down to the beach I would look and see where the tide would be. It seamed to be right on. Hopeful when I get back in to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Maybe if it isn't to much, I will get one. The reason is I watch Basil Dean each day to see the weather and he tells me when the tides are high or low. I do love showing the Camper that come here the different levels of the water. You know, South Beach area, low tide you can pretty much walk about a mile before you hit the water. Plus if you look out that way you can see trees growing in the ocean too.
I think it would be a neat toy to have.
