This is my friend Dr. Bob.

Okay why am I calling him Dr. Bob? Well first of all he has been a blessing in pretty much every thing we have been working on. Then the guy is back is named Bob two. So I thought if I need one of them I will have their names correct. You know how it is, hey Tim then both Tims show up. Okay so Dr. Bob and Bob will work for me!
Just a note Dr. Bob he has been so patient with me. He is willing to do what ever is needed to make it work. Some days I just want it up and running, he will say. We can do this. Just slow down and see what happens. He has been brought up in the old school ways, some what like me. let us try to fix it, don't just throw is out, save it, there got to be a way for this to work.
Just a example below you will see one of these tings that he thought would work and it did. Taking two wires and putting them together so you can use two welders at the same time. A couple of days ago, we were out and I saw the owner of Henry Electric Storr. I talked with him about running two welders off of one 220 volts line. He said, he would not do it. So in the back of my head I am thinking what could happen? Well just blow the circuit breaker, or burn the place down?
But Bob said it will work, don't worry. You can see below it does work and every thing is coming up roses. No fire or even blowing the circuit breaker. I am blessed to call him my friend too,
THANK YOU DR. BOB

Do you see the yellow tings in back?

Well this is Bob two, I am sorry but I don't know his last name as of yet. Him and his wife Judy came here foro the states. They pretty much sold everything they had and even their home. They believe they are called to be missionaries. So I and the rest of the staff are very blessed to have them aboard. Bob's use to be the truck driver back in the states plus he has other skills too. Him and Judy will be helping Tim and Mindy out at the ALC Camp. Their main job will be doing the cooking and making sure the place is looking good too. So over all they work for Tim. But on their off days, Bob will be helping me out over at the Centre. So this day he was willing to check out what was going on. He helped us with the welder tings. Then he took on the yellow boxes that go over the trolley body. These were damaged while I was pulling the trolley back to where it is now. So Bob told me that he has worked with fiber glass before. He got the fiber glass on the back now and waiting for it to dry and then he will fill it in with bondo.
It sure neat to have another set of hands around here to help us. I have been very blessed to able to have this help. I will write about another guy that has come in to help us tomorrow. His name is Andy. He is fiends with Bob and Faye back in Canada. He has his own welding shop and has 8 guys working for him back there. His main reason for coming is to help us with this New Trolley. He got here on Tuesday night at 8pm. So early on Wednesday he was ready to rock and roll. You will see the pictures tomorrow. Like I have said before the router now is not working any more. The reason is the Seeley's needed it for their home. So I do have hard wire to my computer now. I can not transfer my pictures from my hand held computer without a router. So I will be going back the Centre to use the router there. That is how I got these picture down load.
It is all in HIS HANDS ANY WAY.

I am a day behind. Inter net still not correct

Okay I pick up the other welder from Mr Knowles. It needed some work before we could use it. Nothing to hard, we put wheels on it plus rewired the wiring.  But over all it was in good shape. Well we tied the two lines together. Plugged it in and it worked. We can weld off of one 220 volts. So then Dr. Bob tried out the new welder, welds great he said. Bob did find out some thing about welding last week, you use the 6011 rod first and then go back over it with the 6013. This way the 6011 goes deep in the space. The 6013 is a over covering and it looks good too.The other gentleman you see here is Bob two. He is helping us out a couple of days ago, his main job is helping at the ALC Camp. But on free days he will be helping us here.

This young lady made it all the way to Miss Teen Universe Pageant

If you have looked and said, hey I know her? That is the young lady that was in the Miss Teen Bahamas, during the Summer months. Well by what I read here she did very well on the finals. She was the one to win in her talent. The only reason I know her is that she is a niece of a friend of mine here in the Bahamas, Michelle Campbell. So I know her family is so excited for her to make it this far, then to win with her singing. So I wish her and her family the best and maybe see her next in Miss Bahamas?

I am still having trouble with the inter net, so please bear with me. I have more pictures to bring up, but can not move them from my phone to my computer. Maybe tomorrow.

Okay now what did I do all day yesterday?????

Fist of all, had to leave early in the morn to go see my old friend Mr Knowles, he is leaning me one of his arc welders. I will show tomorrow what I am talking about. But he was not up yet, so I went shopping for bolts. Okay first to AID,no. Albury's,no. Dropped off the old radiator off of the ocean bus. Then droveand found a place that had U blots, the size I some what needed. The reason I say that is, they only had 1/2 size. I really needed 5/8. But we can make it happen with them. Then I drove to Bahamas Mack, they had 6 3/4 bolts plus nuts. But I still need another 10 more. Oh they had my harden blots too for the Ocean bus engine mounts. Stopped by Mr Knowles place and picked up the welder. Got back and put the Ocean bus back together again, with Dr. Bob's help, plus. Have not started it up yet, but this morning I will.
Okay today Dr. Bob will be cutting up some steel and I will try to rewire the two welders, so we can use both at the same time. Now we are trying some thing here. I only have 1- 220 volt line. But need two. So Dr. Bob and I thought, why not tie them together and see what happens? I think it should work? Hey if not, it will blow the fuse on the wall?
We do have another idea, if this doesn't work. Generator and one welder running off of that? Have not tried that yet? I think it will be too noisy?

No turning back NOW

Dr Bob has made his fist cut in the new steel. That means we are a go. Tonight another gentleman is flying in the help do some welding too. His name is Andy. It really is neat to see us building a NEW TROLLEY, that right a BRAND NEW ONE. Now I have spent around $1700.00 on the new steel, bolts and things $220.00, welding stuff,$300.00. But it is a go and we are going. Hey mark was shopping for a used trolley, cheapest was around $10.000.00 That price is in the states.
Okay how many guys does it take to take a bumper off and put it back on? That right three plus me to take pictures.
Folks you have not notices, I love my job and all that goes on. All I can say is THANK YOU JESUS. He is the One that has me here and I just love this place.

Just driving around trying to find parts.

It really is crazy how people do thing here. I know I was a kid at one time, long time ago. But why ride on the side? If the driver turns fast one time, all fall out and what then?
Okay the next pictures. See how high the junk is? Well now I know why when I drive around and see power lines hanging. Plus look at how he makes his turn, one little push and BYE BYE.
I just love driving around.

I have some great news!

After our devotion time, (Monday morning), Bob and I went for a drive. We have to get the Ocean Bus back home again. which we got there and it will still in tack. The only problem was the four bolts I thought we needed were not the same. The top two were the 3/8 16 thread. So when we got to the bus found out the large bolt 1/2 13 thread was broken off inside. Okay so Bob and I got the two other bolts back in place. I drove the bus back home, no real trouble. So when we got back, we needed to get that broken bolt out, plus replace the shock too. Oh one more thing, notice a big cut in the tyre too. Okay shock was rusted pretty bad, Bob had to use the touch to cut the nuts off. Got the new on in. Okay the real project now. Have to take the radiator out and cover, plus the front of the bus hood off. Well we got that all apart. Okay need to drill a hole in the middle of the bolt. Use a punch, then started drilling. Well I was off a little on the centre. But kept on drilling. Started out with a 1/8" bit. Work my way up to 1/4" Hit the extractor in place. Now need to power to turn it out. You can see how mickey mouse I made it work. It is out and I was praising God all the time turning it out.
Today I will get the new bolts and put this beast back together again, God willing.
Mean while Bob will be starting cut up the steel we got last Friday. Found out that Bob's friend Andy will be flying in on Wednesday night. His main reason is to help us weld the new trolley together. He has his own business back in Canada. He makes up large gas tanks and what ever else is needed at the time. So he has been a welding for many years. I know Bob feels some relief now. This whole project of building a new trolley was not going to be that easy. So the pressure was on him. But as the time would go by, we would have had other come in and help too, if needed.

Well Sunday morning I was not doing well at all.

On Saturday after noon I made this big grilled cheese sandwich. Boy was that a good one or what? I know I have some troubles some times with cheese or dairy things. Well that night I was in some pain, cramps. Boy they kept building up more pain. I went to the bathroom okay. But still had the pain in my stomach. It was like a big knot. I thought I was getting better. So I was hungry, ate some Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal.. Thinking the fiber will help my tummy. But it made it feel worst. Boy was I bending down a lot. Trying to feel better. I laid down and that helped. But still pain was there. I gave up and asked Bob ad Judy to drive me to the Walk In Clinic on Carmichael. Which he did. I got there and sat for a minute or so. Thinking I need some relief. I know the pills I had before helped me out. These were called Nexium. I got these back in 2007. You can see how old they really are. I have had this problem on and off a couple of times. So I knew that these were from the doctor. I walked over to the Pharmacy. I asked if they had anything like this over the corner. He sold me Omerazole 20. It cost $18.00. I said great. I took one right then. I walked back over to the clinic, sat down. Mean while I just was hurting big time. I told the people that were there, I was going to lay on the floor for a couple of minutes. They said okay. About 5 minutes went by. I looked up and saw a wheel chair in front of me. They asked me to get in it. I said okay. They wheeled me into the office. I sat down and they took my blood pressure and even pin my finger. The one girl said that my blood count was at 220. I told her I was okay, I just finish eating that cereal. They had me lay down on a bed there. I was starting to feel better every minute after that. The nurse came in and ask me for $150.00 deposit. I told her I was feeling better. She told me it was not going to cost me anything if I left then. Which I did and called Bob and he came and picked me up. I got home and took another pill and slept a hour or so. Doing well now.

Alright we have some trouble with our Ocean Bus

Well while I was laying on a bed at the clinic, I got a phone call from Tim Seeley. He was telling me that the engine was making a loud noise. Like a scarping sounds. So Tim stopped the bus and pulled over and open the hood. He was not sure what he was looking at. But while on the phone I asked if the fan would move up and down? He told me, he thinks so. So I told him and just leave the bus there and we will deal with it on Monday. So he called his wife and she came out to pick him up. Mean while we left the bus there. When I got back from the clinic I laid down and rested some more. My stomach was still hurting a little. I just wanted to feel better. So after a hour or so, 3:30pm, I got up and drove over too where the bus was sitting. Open the front end up and looked at the fan itself. It really didn't feel loose at all. I looked a little more and found out the engine was tipping forward. The reason was the bolts came out of the front engine mounts. So that is why the fan blade was hitting the radiator cover. Plus I looked a little more and saw the shock was broken too. Not sure how that could happen. I know our roads are not the greatness but to break a shock, they had to hit a BIG HOLE. I got back and asked Tim it he knew anything about it? He said he doesn't
know for sure. So during our last week or so, the shock had to get broken some how. I know for a fact it was not like that before when I was driving this bus. That was when CCA was here and that was only a week ago. Okay now look at my shorts, that right I have one more pair to add to my work clothes. Oh I did take the batteries out and put them in the back of my truck. Just to try to protect them.

Thats right, Single's night out.

It is funny, but these months are flying by. I feel like I just wrote about the singles a week or so. But as always we had some fun. You know people come in at different times. They have lives before Singles. Not me I was there on time, because I don't have a life.
Over all we played a game, not sure the name of it. But each person get a sticker on their back. It is a name of someone we should all know. Okay I found out I was Michcelle Obama. Last time we played this around 1 year or so. I was Hillary Clinton. What are they trying to say???? There was a couple I just didn't know who they were.
We had a KFC and everyone brought something too, salads, drinks, ice and even desert. After that we all had to pick up a piece of paper that was folded up. Then we had to explain how we would deal with it. Mine was angry. How do I deal with it? Well most time not to good. I get mad and walk away most times. But if something has been building up, LOOK OUT, here it flies. I shouldn't say that, it is not as bad as it use to be, before I was a Christian.
It is neat to hear other people ideas about dating and just going out with each other. I have not dated now for 13 years. I have gone out and enjoy others company, but not a date, so much. The reason is, we as Christians are not to date. It should be find a mate and do things to together, but with others. Plus praying and asking God to show me if this is the one to marry? Dating back in my day was going out and trying to find a young lady and just have fun. With another things on my mind.
Hey I look at my life now and say, I enjoy what I have and do. It is nice to be able to go see a movie or have dinner, but I need to have others around me.
Hey if you have something to add, please e mail me at, toms@alcbahamas.org
Love to hear from you.

Hey folks it is Friday, all ready???

Okay during the day, Bob and I worked on getting the old trolley rear axle to turn , left and right. If you have been reading my blog for a while now, we have been trying now for over a week to get it to turn. Well after Dr. Bob's pushing and pulling and heating it up, using grease and what ever else. It is turning some what. Mean while, the young man in the first picture is Semein, having lunch with me. Him and his mom use to go to Calvary Bible Church. That is where I know them from. Well Semein has been going to trade school here and during Fridays he has off. So his mom, Lisa. Asked me a while back if he could come over here and help us out. I said no problem, he just needs to work. So yesterday he came and I had him painting the gate up front. All the medal hinges and L brackets. This way we can finish spraying painting the gate with the final coat.
During this time I have been working on new signs for the Visitors Parking  lot. Plus helping Dr. Bob out with pushing and pulling. It really was a great day.
Oh I forgot about the first picture, these students are from a school here, (not sure which one). But they came out to have a tour of all we do here. It really looks like they had some fun too.
Plus you see this young man? That is Adam, Mark's son. He was there to help me too. He has the pencil above his ear and ready to do some work. He really is a good kid. He loves big truck and buses. Even the John Deere and the Bobcat too. He is man's son.

After lunch we did some painting.

Okay after lunch Bob, Semein and I had the time to repaint the NEW GATE. That right, the time has come to repaint the gate with the final coat. While painting it I did notice we need to fill in some small holes still. That will happen next week. Okay all done spray painting it and it looks great.
Now right after getting that all done, our steel came in. The large truck you are looking at above. For the new trolley we will be building this next month. I have been showing you picture after picture on how we need to replace the old trolley. Now we have the steel to do it. But the really sad part was. When the truck was coming in or out. It hit the NEW GATE. That right, starting out not to good. It is something we can fix, BUT WHY?
During our time in the morning devotions, going over how to LET IT GO. Okay I am okay now!

Just checking out prices, here.

I am sorry but the pictures didn't come out to clear. But I will tell what the prices are. The top one is a AC/DC Lincon Welder, sell in the states for $599.00 (Home Depot)
Here it sells for $2259.00.
The next one is just a AC Lincon Welder, sells at (Home Depot) $299.00
Here it sells for $1125.00

Okay explain to me, why so much?
We ran into a guy I know, Mr. Knowles. He owns a welding shop here. I need a borrow a welder for next couple of weeks. The reason is Bob has a friend flying over from Canada. To help us weld up the new trolley. \Prayerfully today the steel will come in.

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
