The first time I ever saw these snakes. (2005) I look at them and say wow. At that time I really didn't like snakes at all. Plus while looking into their cage I saw some doves. I was thinking how did they get into there? Not knowing that was their food for the week. So as I am walking around the property, just looking things over.
His is a gentlemen that has been working at ALC for many years. I am sorry but I would murder his name if I tried to spell it. But he is always willing to help and do his job well.
This is the famous train. As people come and go. Everyone that has been ever at the ALC. always talks about the train. There is no other train on this island. Many Bahamians have ever been on a real train. But as children they have that chance ride this one. I know she looks rough. But if you go back into my blog, she was written about many times and many repairs have been made on her.
This is the staff as of this day. The new school year has started, so during the first couple of weeks here. They do what is called training all the new staff and others that will be working along side the children.
This young man is Kevin. If you go back in my blog, you can see the story of his life as he lived here at the Camp and I had the chance to work along side with him. He has grown up to be a young man now and helps out at the ALC. That day he was doing some cooking and cleaning at the Camp.
This was our home during those years. Back then there was no screen pouch. But it was our home and I know I loved it.
On Thursday we had a luncheon at the ALC Camp. It was a another training program. They all meet at the Camp and went over the rules and pretty much all that was happening there.
Then we had lunch. The staff had a chance to do the clean up and just put the dinning hall back together again.
I know my blog is running behind a little. Like today is the 16th. But there are many things I love sharing about being here. My time is winding down too.
