A free night at the County State Fair.

It is kind a funny, we have not ever gone thru these gates before. We usually volunteer and go into the back gate. They give us a pass to park in behind the Steer and Swine Arena. It is close to the FFA Food Booth.
Okay back to the story, tonight we were suppose to meet Roy and his wife Pat here. But I guess we just missed each other. We tried to text and call them. But afterwards we got a text saying, they left their phone at home. That is okay, we still enjoyed walking around and just hanging together.

This is the Petting Farm, they sell food to feed the animals. and just have some fun watching people and the animals.

Here are a couple of young ones. I guess their bellies are full and just want to rest up for the next crew that comes in?

As we were walking, saw something out of the corner of my eye. YES little transformers.

We saw these two thru out the fair. Just riding along and jumping up and scaring folks. It really was kind a of neat to see.

We went down to the ride side and just walked around and saying, maybe we can try that ride? Or maybe this one? OR Maybe NONE?

Oh I can handle that one? HOW MUCH? $8.00 are you crazy???

Near the end of the evening we stopped in to watch the auction on the steers. This one got $41.00 a pound? That was the highest one we saw this evening. Just thinking, 1,400 pounds times $41.00 =$57,000 just for this one steer? They will cut him up and wrap up the meat and that is what the $41.00 a pound is worth.

I thought this picture looked better? But this is one of Jeanne's grand nephews. Layton. He got $14.00 a pound for his. Hey that pays for the feed and up keep and just enjoying taking care of his steer.
I think his steer weighted about 1,300 pounds.=$18,000 not to shabby.
Over all Jeanne and I had some fun and ate, steak tips and funnel cake and walked away full and our bodies are hurting too. A little bit to much walking for both of us.
We will be back on Friday night to help out at the FFA booth again.
I will share those pictures later on this week.
