Thats right I have Mr Bob welding already

You can see he has started welding up the L brackets that Tim and I made a while back. These will be put on the New Gate for the ALC. It has been a while since I have talked about our New Gate. The reason was I have been waiting for Bob to come in and save the day. Which is did yesterday. he got all 8 of the plates done. Plus he grinded them to look good too.
I have been working on the trolley in the back of him. You know trying to get the bolts out and next we will be pulling the top off. The reason is, that is our next project. Replace the frame that this trolley rides on.
Oh Bob needs to weld up the saw horses we will be needed to hold this large piece op steel up to weld. So today bob will be putting together four saw horses. I will share pictures tomorrow.
This is another project I worked on yesterday. If you don't know it, we have been using anti freeze for all vehicles. The sad part is the buses use some up almost every week. We are always putting some in. I guess it is going out the exhaust. Maybe the head gaskets are leaking? I really don't know where it goes. The radiators don't have any leaks, I can see. But like I said we just have to make sure I always have anti freeze here ready to go into any vehicle that needs it. Okay why is this so important to talk about? Well I get my anti freeze from a friend here in the Bahamas. He sell it to me for cost. That is $22.50 a gallon. If I went to AID for any other auto part store here it would cost $45.00 a gallon. So I buy this from him and mix our RO water into it. You know 60% water and 40% anti freeze. So I bought 10 gallons yesterday and got 24 gallon now.

Now is this a invitation or What?

It was very nice to receive this invitation to Adams Birthday Party. Man I look at this and say wow. It is done so well. I know Kim, his mom makes these tings up for other people. But she did such a wonderful job on these. Now just think for a minute. This is a birthday party for a 5 year. Adam is a very special child. He is my boss's kid. Which is very neat. Adam comes in the ALC and it is so neat to hear him call my name out. TOM. He is always willing to give me a hug and that is love. Hey this party is going to rock. I am sorry if you get one of these invites, but I did!
If you ever want someone to make up invitations for any thing here in the Bahamas. Please contact Kim Wallace at Temp Plate. She makes it happen.

Hey look who is back????

Your eyes are not lying, that is Mr Bob. Him and his wife Faye flew in on Tuesday. During their time at the airport, was a long day. They got up at 1am and took a cab, (Air cab) to the airport. On the way there Bob was telling me how his feet froze. He was telling me that, this real nice Mercedes-Benz, limo. It was freezing inside. He asked the diver to turn the heat up, she said it was all the way.
Okay now they made to to the airport. The roads on the way had snow on them plus it was very cold. They sat around a while waiting for the flight. Then they were told that their gate has changed. So they had to walk down three or four gates to the new one. Sat there and found out the flight has been delayed. They were suppose to land here in Nassau around 12:47pm on Tuesday. There flight was delayed until 6:56pm coming into here. Bob told me that when they got on the plane they were told that they have been moved up to First CLASS. Wow, he told me that they got this huge sandwich and a cup of coffee. He was in Heaven. They landed here in good shape. Mindy and I were the two to go pick them up. On the way to the airport we had a nice talk about our families and how they really don't understand why any one would become a missionary? But got there and our two friends were standing there with big smiles on their faces. It sure was good to see these two. On the way back is where I got all this information about their night and day. So they are here now until the end of March. You will be seeing pictures of Faye down the road.

Guess who has dinner plans?

That right this is Squeeze our smaller Bahamian Boa Connector. Sam one of our staff, found this pretty good size frog for our buddy here. She asked me to drop him off in the Nature Centre when I got back that way. Which you can see I did. But I guess Squeeze was not hungry then? The poor frog just sat there, he would not move while I was standing over watching. It is kind of sad to see your enemy looking at you and there is no place to go.

As Christians sometime we feel the same way, where can we go to get away? The real neat thing is we can run to our Lord Jesus Christ and He will protect us and comfort us all at the same time. Just call out to Him and He will be there for you.

Here in the Bahamas we have had some troubles

Yesterday while pulling out of our driveway at the Camp. I looked over and saw a couple of police cars. Not sure what was going on, I just took a shot of them there. Then whiling driving by the cars, I saw a two guys on the ground. I guess these two have done something wrong? It really is good to see our police doing there job. The reason I say that is. This last year our murders have passed any other years total. Which is very sad for this island. The reason is, it is a island and everyone knows everyone. So why can't they get this under control? Maybe because everyone knows everyone?

I believe te Cottage B is ready to live in.

The last couple of days, we have been trying to get this place ready for the girls to move into. Tim and Elton have been finishing the painting and moving things around, plus cleaning the place up too.The only problem Mark and I had was hitting that water line. You can see it is fixed and the shief and pole are up and ready to to go. Oh the screens frames is what I was working on yesterday. You know have to build the screens and now need to put the screeninng in the frames. It turned out to be a little harder than I thought building the frames. I messured then cut the frame to the size. Then tried to put the frame int the window frame. Not one of them would fit until I had to recut each and every one. Ad least I made them to long. If I cut them short, I don't think they make a stertching machine to make them longer? It was funny at the end. But during building not. The sad thing is it took me all most all day to build them. BUT they fit and I am so happy.

My big boy is going away.

Last night Kevin and I talked about him going over to the states. I really wish I could go too. But as he has been looking for a job. He was told in a couple of weeks, he should be able to start one at a restaurant, down town Nassau. It is a sushi place. He was talking with the owner a couple of days a ago So he should have a job pretty soon. So Kevin was asking me about flying over to the states to visit a friend he meet here about three years ago. That would be Josh. He lives in Baltamore, Maryland. So last night I went on line to find a ticket for him. He will be flying out on the 13th Monday next week. Then coming back on the 22nd.
Now look at the picture above and see how small he WAS? Now is grown up to be a man. I ask for prayer for him each day. As he is going over there, saftey and just having a good time.

Okay yesterday Mark and I had a small job to do.

First of all, we went shopping. You go buy some lumber and tings. We got back and started putting up a couple of closet poles, with shelves. Not a big job at all? Well we got the first one done. Looked pretty good. Then the next one we were not sure where the 2X4 were in this one. It had a falsewall. So we drilled a couple of holes to find them. While drilling guess what we found instead? That right the water line that comes into the cottage. It was not that big of a deal to repair, but a pain. It is done and the water is back on. Today I will patch the hole and finish up putting up the shelves.
Okay guess who is coming in today? That right my old friends the Brownings. They fly in around 1pm. It will be such a joy to have them here. If you don't remember them. Here is a picture of them from their last trip here. It will be so neat to have a partner and some one to talk with. Bob and I have a couple of big jobs to do, but not to big for us. WELCOME BACK HOME AGAIN.

We are all starting a NEW YEAR

Please take a 10 minutes of your life and watch this video. It is something that we all deal with. Baggage. We think we have it under control. But if you don't let it go and give it up to Christ. You don't and it gets harder each day we keep carrying it. Please watch and let Him help you.
Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy  burdens, and I will give you rest.

I got a blessing yesterday

I was thinking, it must be out dated? I don't carry my glasses every where. So I saw a deal and said why not? Hey any with 50% off is worth chance. So I got it home here and got my glasses out and looked. Wow it is good until March 05 2014. Why was it reduced? I guess some one else didn't have their glasses on?
Hey I know back in ths states this would only be the same price I paid. $2.80. The normal price is $5.60. Oh that alone is a good price here too. Thinking back, I have paid $9.00 for the same creamer.
Thank you Lord for the blessings.

Okay this board walk is done too.

We use to have a board walk in back that went around the island out there. When Patmos was here a while back. They ripped out the old one. The reason it was not safe for the kids to walk on. You know the boards were rotten. Plus there was foam under the walk way. You know it floated. So back to when Patmos was here. They ripped it out and put a new one only to the tower. They never did finish it all the way to the island. So this last month Scott and his crew, came in and gave us a bid and they won it. If you have seen my blog before, Scott and his crew finished up Cottage B. The inside and out. So I think around the 12th of Dec, Scott started ripping out the old one again and rebuilt it all the way to the island. It really came out nice.

It is so funny how my boss thinks, he was asking me about the cost of lumber they got. Then he looks back and saids wow Scott made a bundle on this job! It is like any thing we do. I know this young lady, I was talking to her about the flights they were taking. Okay she got this price back a while and bought the tickets. Lets say came to $400.00 each. Okay she goes back and looks again on what tickets are going for now. They are only $350.00. Now she is up set, thinking I should have waited? Okay now if she did, it could have worked out? But maybe it would not have worked out? That is the same I am thinking about this board walk. Oh we could have saved so much more if we just waited? Maybe we could have built it? I am sorry but I try not looking back ans saying I should have? No there is nothing you can do about it. Don't look back and say OH NO. No look forward and say, wow it looks great and I am so glad it is finished.

Okay I think I am done with bunk beds

These last couple of days I have had to put together some bunk beds. The sad part is, when they were taken apart, no one label them with the parts that go to them. You know, when you build something like this, most of the time not everything lines up the same. The holes don't match, plus there was some parts missing. But as it is today, this room to ready for 16 people. I am not sure if I explained why I am doing all this? Well in the middle of this month and next. We will be having like 94 people staying at the ALC Camp. If you know anything about our place. There are 74 beds ready at all times. Now we have to make sure we have 94 ready for them. These are the students from Calvary Chapel FT Laud. The 8th graders come each year and it seems like there are more and more each year. So ad least we will be ready for them.
Oh the room I have been working in is one of the cottages A. This one has not been worked on that much. It has a roof and walls and doors. But really nothing else. So it is just a room to sleep in. Oh we do have some lighting. It really is neat to see how we grow each year in all we do here. You can go back and say Thank you Jesus Christ for that. This place runs on life line.

Hey guess what I did yesterday?

Finishing up putting the bunk beds together. I had those two that Tim and I made on Tuesday. Then there are three others that have been in storage for many years. They are needed too. So I had to do some rebuilding of them. You know the parts don't always go back the way they came apart? These beds have been moved, I think ad least three times. So the boards are all mixed up, plus some are broken too. So it is like starting all over again. Which is okay, ad least the cost is not to bad. Have to replace the support boards. The four corners. Plus re drill the holes. Not really that big of a deal. I hope to finish them up today. I have one more to modify. I have 30" wide bed (top) and a 36" wide bed (bottom). So I will have to cut the 36" to a 30". This way no waste.

Guess where Scooby and I went yesterday? That right Goodman Beach!

While driving around this area, I always want to take pictures of the Baha Mar area. If you check out my blog before, you can see how far they have come. If you remember this is opening in Dec 2014. that is not really that far off. I just love to see tings happen and at the end to have the full show, how it all came together. If you look closely, there is grass growing on the golf course. It really is neat to just watch things happen.

We sure are party animals?????

Last night we had a movie night at the ALC. It really was a nice time. Michell brought a DVD, plus all the food. Then Miss Veda was there with the drinks, Coke, apple juice. In the back you can see Sylvia. The young lady sleeping, that is Emily. Yes we watch the pageant of Michel's niece. Remember the pictures I put in here last week. I will remind you with one of the shots.

That right now, remember? This is Miss Young Bahamas. We watched that then. I went on Solar Movies and found a great movie for us to watch. I think it was My Luck something? It was funny and just clean fun movie. Michell was asking me last night, when are we going back to Atlantis to see another free movie there? I am not sure, but I guess it might be this week-end coming? It is nice to just sit home and watch movies in your own house and all the comforts of home. We will see what happens.
Today I need to go do some shopping and get things in order for Mr Bob is coming next Tuesday. We need to get the steel and make sure I have every thing else we will need to do some work. It really is neat to look forward to working. I have been so blessed being part of the ALC and the people that come to help us. Thank you Lord and let us see WHO ELSE will be here this year 2014?

Wednesday, January 01, 2014

These are the winner of Boxing Day here in the Bahamas 2013.

That right the Valley Boys won hands down. It was really neat to see our Primer Ministry Perry Christie rush out on Bay Street.

Last night they had their next Junkanoo Rush Out. News Years Days'. Tonight there will be the results on the winner at 6pm, from Arawak Cay.

Today they really went into the trash.

I think about a month or so, I was telling you how I had to go buy another pair of tennis shoes. Okay I did buy them, but I tried to repair these older ones again. I used glue and then ran some caulk around the whole shoe. It worked for a little while, but now they are in the trash. I got these shoes back in Sept 20th. The reason I say this is, I asked a friend of mine back in Fort Lauderdale, Fl to buy them and take them to Calvary Chapel Ft Laud. Then Pastor Chet was coming over for the 20th anniversary party we had for the ALC. So I guess I got my wear out of them?

It is so neat to see how Mr Tim loves wood.

That right Tim and I built a couple of bunk beds yesterday. It really was kind of neat to see how easy it goes when you are working along side a guy like Tim. He looks at it and take some measurements and just starts cutting up the lumber. Then we had to put them together. Which was really easy to do. We just used a couple of screws to hold it together. Then after that did some drilling and putting bolts and lag screws in. Like I have said many times, I enjoy working with wood, but I try to finish it to fast. Tim just stays at the same pace and they are done. I am very blessed to have people like him.
Next Tuesday my old friends will be flying in. That right Bob and Faye. They come and do we have some work for them.
Okay what I have been trying to say is, Tim and Bob when they come here to helps us out. I am very blessed to see these two guys that have two different skills, get the job done. Bob is the man that does welding and pretty much any thing to do with machines. Then Tim, he is the wood guy. He can build you what ever is needed with lumber. So over all, this next year we will be able to get so much more done,by these guys skills. It really is neat to see how our Lord has everything in control and His timing.

This last Sunday was very special day,

Okay this is our niece, Shaunesi. Today she is becalming that she is a follower of Jesus Christ and invited the family to be her witness.   ...
