On Monday as I was spending time with family.

The restaurant that we had lunch at was called the Inlet Grill. I needed to use the restroom. As I looked around I saw four (4) paper towel dispensers.
I guess the people really wash their hands many times? It was just kinda of different to see.
I will be on my way over to Winter Haven this morning. As it is almost Thanksgiving. We will have our dinner today. My one cousin, Greg (Bonita's brother) will be coming over from Largo, Fl. It will just be us three (3) Bonita, Greg and I. The reason we are doing this on today, is. Tomorrow will be a lot of traffic and I really am looking forward in going shopping tomorrow night. You know the Black Friday on Thanksgiving night starts?

I had a nice visit with one of my sisters and her daughter.

Well this is Kathy and her daughter Debbie. They live up north in Buffalo. They have been coming south for many years, to get away from that cold weather. Debbie was showing me a picture of their back yard. It was taken yesterday, by her brother Eddie. It had about a 1" of snow.
Hey these two go on cruises, together and just enjoy hanging out..
I had a chance to ask many questions about what and where and how is the rest of the family doing? It was a little bit of a eye opener. Folks time does not set still. Things keeps on going each and everyday. As we are getting older, I try to put faces to names and say. I think I remember?
We went down to the Jetty area on Hutchinson Island. Had a nice lunch. Then took a walk along the Jetty itself.

These pelicans are really just hanging out.
We got back to my place and hung out for about another hour or so. During that time I had many questions for Kathy, on Medicare. I found out their program up in North is different than down here. So she explained what she had and we compared notes. I think I know which one to get now. Well they are staying in Pompano Beach area. So they had to get back.
I really enjoy having them up here and showing them around too. I am very content and just loving this place so much. Hopefully one of these days they will wake up and stay let us move to Florida.

I am not sure if I really am saving money?

After church I usually go to this place called Aldi. Here I find some great prices on fruit and veggies.

You can see I got bananas, pears, tomatoes, cucumber and kiwis. Folks I most of the time I shop at Walmart. But when I can get fruit for good prices like this. Why not drive a little while. The reason I am saying, am I really saving any money? Well yesterday I didn't go to Calvary Port Saint Lucie for church. That is about two miles away from Aldi. I went to Arches, instead, which is around 15 miles away. That is where Pastor David teaches. So for me to drive from there to Aldi, am I spending more on gas? Maybe I spent around a gallon or so?
It really doesn't make that much difference. Hey it was a beautiful day to drive.
I am not sure if where you live what kind of temps you are dealing with. I went to bed in sweat pants and shirt. But this morning around 4 am I got up and looked at my thermostat and saw it was 59 inside. I have not tried the furnace yet. So this morning I put it on and it took around hour or so to get the temp up to 69. Which is great for me. I did know it was going to get colder last night. I did look at my app on my phone at 4 am and it was 46 outside.
Hey folks I am so blessed to call this place my home and I just want to praise Him each and everyday.

Helping a sister out.

Just before the hurricane Mathew came to town. I was helping out a sister in Christ. She asked me to help her put up her hurricane shutters. Which was no problem. I really enjoy helping her out. Well while putting up the shutter on this picture window. I put the screw to close to the edge of the glass. While standing there, we heard a cracking sounds. But I was thinking it was the plastic shutter I was putting up. But as I was driving back home. She called me and said that the picture window is shattered. I went back the next day and sure enough. I broke the window. So we cleaned it all up and put the shutter back up.
Okay meanwhile we both tried to find someone to replace the glass. Well the prices ranged from $400.00 and up. Wow, now what. So we both started looking at different ideas. I was telling her, go ahead and have someone come in and replace it. I will help with the cost. Well she got this idea one day. Why not put a sliding glass door in? She told me that at one of her other places she lived, there was a sliding glass door 96" wide. We looked on line and found them for $400. and up again. She said let us try Habitat, Restore. So w went around to the ones around here. No one had anything that big. She had a class to go to down in Broward County. She she stooped by the one down town. She found three of them. So on Thursday, last week,we drove down south. Stopped at a couple of Habitat, Restores on the way down. They didn't have any that wide. So got to Fort Lauderdale and found four of them. Checked them all out and found the one she wanted for $30.00. Now we knew the window size was 48 3/4" This door is 49" She bought and we got it back to her place, safe and sound.
Okay now how do we get it smaller? Thinking of taking the one sides off. Tried to and found out is is all one piece. Okay let us try to see how far off it is? Had to take out a couple of round headed medal screws.Okay the moment of true? It sled right in with no problem at all.Had to push it, BUT IT FIT.
Okay what happen? How did this door shrink down 3/4" ? We both believe God made it happen. That right, what else could have happen? This is all medal and it doesn't bend. The frame it is going into a medal one too. Well folks we just praised Him and thanked Him right there on the spot.
Now there is some opening on the sides still. The door is 80" wide for this window area. The opening is 84" So we built up the side with pieces of lumber, plus even used the weather stripping.

It fits perfecting.

As I left on Friday night, thinking wow, this is so very good to say He made it happen. I was telling my neighbor Roy about, how it fits. He said I just don't know how to measure? I would debate him, but why? It really was His doing.

So as we finished putting up the last trim. I just am blown away how good it looks.

Before I got there on Saturday morning she already had the trim up on the inside.
The total she spent was around $80.00. I was willing to have them put a new one in and the cost would have been $400. plus. WOW PRAISE HIM.

How many times have you seen a LIVE Armadillo?

I was out riding and while pulling into our community, I saw him or her? It was some what funny to see how they dig with their nose. He was not scared of me at all. he even started coming closer. But I walked away. God has made them some what cute too.

Well I will be starting all over again on the millage. The battery went dead and after pulling the old one out. I didn't replace it right away. That is okay,
Hey I am really enjoying our cooler night up here. This morning it was 58 outside. Inside was 64.
I guess my instillation is not that good.

You can see I even got my sleeping bag out to use. I guess my next purchase will be a couple of blankets?

This is Roy and Mary Jo.

As I was telling you yesterday, this is the wall we worked on. I am so tickled pink, how good it came out. It really was a joy to work along side with Roy. As we were finishing things up. she asked a couple of other small jobs. Which we had the time and the means. We all piled into he car and went shopping, at Home Depot. Got there and she bought a new faucet for the kitchen. Plus spray paint, that is to repaint her medicine cabinet. Plus a tack strip.Okay got back, the patching of the wall is dry. So Roy worked on painting the new wall. I replace her kitchen faucet. Then took down the medicine cabinet doors. Cleaned them up a little and repainted them. Repaired four tiles of Armstrong vinyl. They were under the refrigerator.
At the end of the day, we all looked on and said wow it looks great.
I am very blessed to have Roy to be able to help me out and just be someone to hang out with.
At the end of the day we both made a couple of bucks.
We were talking last night, boy that was some what fun and we both felt good about the work.

Roy and I had a chance yesterday to help out one, in the park here.

About week ago or so. Roy and I went over to Mary Jo's house to look at some water damage. As I pulled the molding away from the wall I saw that the boards were pretty much all rotten out. As I told Mary Jo,this might be a bigger job after we get inside and see?
So after I felt better, Yesterday Roy and I took some tools and said let us see what happens?

You can see the floor itself is some what rotten too.

We already pulled down all the water damaged board across the top.

Had to cut out 32"X 23" plywood to fit inside this space. Mary Jo had the plywood. But Roy and I drove over to Home Depot and got the rest of the materials. You know studs, paint and foam to put along the outside siding and the new studs. Instillation and base board and paneling too.

We got the board on top up and then put a stud in the middle. Then put some 2" X 4" long the bottom and top to be able to nail the paneling too.

This was the last of the molding that needed to be pulled off. I didn't get a picture of the paneling up, But it is up and it should be ready to finish the base board and molding. Then paint it and it will be finished.
It really is kinda fun working with Roy. He seems to always have a quit answer and most the time if it funny one too.
Prayerfully we should get this puppy done today.
At the edn we should make a couple of bucks too.

I look back on my life.

As I am going along in life, I think back to the simpler times. You know when you were a kid. I remember my grand dad. He was so easy going and always had a big smile on his face. He use to work in the oil fields. Pringle Power Company. It was in Bradford, Pa.

I think this is the only picture I have of my grand parents. Teddy (grand dad) my dad Carl, me on his lap, Ann ( dad's friend Bill's wife) my mom Ellen and Hattie (grand ma)
How does our lives fly by so fast? I am very great full that my sisters found this small album. Then they gave it to me. Memories are a wonderful thing.

These two guys, are brothers.

\
Richie and Roy, they have been living down here for a while. Roy is my neighbor. Hey I have not been feeling to good, so they asked if I would like to take a ride? Sure I need to get out of the house.

This is the Jetty that is on Hutchinson Island. It seems like every time I come down here is is getting more beautiful each time.

I guess there is a fishing tournament going on this week-end. We saw many boats coming and going. Most of the ones we saw had a lot of sponsor decals on them. As I was talking with Richie, he was telling me that. This fishing tournament is going on from north Florida to all the way down to the Keys. There sure were some pretty boats. Some of them had four (4) outboard motors on them. Wow that is some horse power. Just think of one at 300 horses. It sure can get out of it's own way.

As I woke up on Thursday this was my temp in my house. BURRRRRR. But it sure felt good.

It is true I have shingles.

Okay after thinking about this rash I have. On Monday night at the Men's Bible study. As everyone else was sitting down eating. I have already had dinner at Roy's, just before getting there. I thought let me look up Shingles on Google. Which I did and started thinking, wow I think I have them?
The next morning early, I drove up to the local drug store. (Butter Field's) I talked with the pharmacy lady there. I lifted my shirt and she said, Yes,I have shingles/
I drove back home and went on line to find a walk in clinic. which I did. I went over and saw Roy. I asked if he wouldn't mine taking a ride with me.
He drove and we got to the place in Fort Pierce. Cost was $98.00. I saw the doctor and he said the same. Shingles. He called in my prescription. 35 tables of Acyclovir 800 mg. These cost $31.75.
I found this pamphlet.

This pile of paperwork is in the back of this.

I opened it up and wow there is a lot of stuff to read, Which I just folded it back up and put the pamphlet in my files. Hey this is a shot you can get. If you have had chicken pox, you might be one of the three that get Shingles? I talked with the pharmacies about if I should get the shot after wards? She said, as I have already gotten it. There is possible I might get it again, which the shot or not.

At the time they only had 22 tablets. So I came back yesterday and picked up the rest of them,13. But look they are different size and color. I called up and asked if this is corrector not?
She asked me if there was a green sticker on the side of the bottle>

Wow there was. I felt like a fool. No problem she said. Is there any thing else she could help me with? No thank you.
Folks as time will take care of this rash. I can tell you this. I believe the pills are working. I still wake up and there is a burning happening. But as we all know this will pass.
Praise Him in morning and praise in the night. JUST REMEMBER TO PRAISE HIM.

I just enjoy seeing folks try to improve what they own and make it look good.

While washing my house I looked up and saw this beautiful rainbow. It was like around the sun. That right I washed down my house on Monday. The reason is a friend of mine in Vero is painting the trim on their home. Thinking how I would like to change the dark green on my trim.

Then I look over and see my neighbor Jimmy. He is painting his trim. This guy just got back from vacation and ready to get some work done. He is 83 years old. Wow, to me he is a encouragement.

Just finishing it up. While doing it, I really felt like aches and pains all over my body. Maybe getting the flu?
Meanwhile I washed off Roy's clam shells in front of his home. His wife has been asking him for a while to repaint them. So we got them some what cleaned up.

This is Roy my neighbor. He got the paint and started out great. But ran out of paint. But what he did looks nice.
Meanwhile I went inside and felt not to good.
I have this rash on my side. Thinking, it might be the laundry soap I am using.

I took this picture on Saturday morning. Still thinking soap maybe.

Okay we got our wish. Mr. Donald Trump is going to be our new President

I woke up this morning then went to the computer and saw. WOW.
Plus the Republican Party is in control still.
All I can say is Lord please help our nation come together again. This is the time to mend fences and families.
Prayerfully we will be a strong nation again.

How many times do we not take the time to spend with family and friends?

As I get older, I look back and really don't want to ever say, I wish.
Life is short and each day is a gift from God.
Please set that time aside for them.

Monday, November 07, 2016

Well tomorrow is the day we have been looking forward to for a year.

These are ballots of two of my friends back in the Bahamas. They asked me to drop them off in a mail box. This was to show them I did it.

Last week I rode the bicycle up to the polls and voted early. Now folks I know most of us just want this over so as we watch TV and our lives will come back to some normal.
I know as a Christian we are to trust in the Holy Spirit and do what we believe is the correct. That means to go out and vote. The pickings are few and we need to trust in HIM.
Please remember what it said in Romans. 13:1 Obey the government for GOD is the ONE who PUT IT THERE. All government have been placed in the POWER BY GOD.
I look on and see and hear all this junk about each candidate. The real sad part is we really don't have much to pick from. BUT please still do your part and vote.
We will see what happens and just trust in HIM.
Praise for we can vote.

On Saturday we flew back home. Sept. 5thn 2026

Okay I got up early and took a drive. I went to Dunkin Donuts for 6 donuts and a couple of coffees. Oh, I got a couple of items for Billy. B...
