Took on a big job?

First of all, Kelly (one of the owners) She asked us to move the light above, to the center of the old medicine cabinet. Which I cut out the paneling. We did have enough 14 gauge wire in the wall.
So just had to pull it out and bend it around the 2x2 Had to cut a small piece out of the lumber. So, the piece I cut, would fit over it.

The guy before us, took out a linen closet. So, Roy had some fixing up. Put spackle in the holes and make it look good.

While Roy worked on the bathroom. I need to put together the two side vanities.
Then I heard, s---??? I came in and saw the hot side of the CPVC pipe was broken off under the floor. So now what? We ran out and tried to turn off the main water valve. WHERE IS IT?? I found the hot water valve running off the water heater. That shut it off. PRAISE YOU LORD.
Okay, we need to find the main valve before we do anything else on those pipes???
We asked the neighbor next store, Tony came over and told us, not sure. We found a 4x4 piece of medal screwed under the skirting. I took it off. Nothing there. Okay I guess we will wait on doing anything else. But we do need to fix the hot side pipe. Went back outside and took off the skirting where the bathroom window is. Had to dig the skirting out. Got it off. Then I climbed under to see where the main beam that it the frame for the mobile home. Looked and saw no room for my fat butt to get to it.
Roy and I talked about it and figured out, MAYBE, we can cut the floor out and repair the pipe???

That is what we did, just need to be careful with the old pipes. I got to it and cut the old pipe and glued the new one back on. It was very hard to get into the old pipe and not break something else. Really was not my plan at all. Started making me think, WHY would I take on this job?
Maybe this is our last bathroom work? I don't deal good with stress anymore. But by God's grace we got it back together and no leaks.

Okay we will just keep going, trying to make this a good day afterwards.
Open the box and found this panel cracked. I just figured we would put this on the right-side vanity. This you will not see.

There are sure a lot more parts than I excepted. But after 2 + hours I got the first side done.
Thinking I need to add a little more time to this job alone.
I will take the other one home and work there and maybe not think about the broken pipe anymore?

Roy kick, some butt. It really was looking good.

Okay got home, this is Wednesday night now. It still took me about three hours to put this one together.
I am really thinking WHY, am I doing this anymore?
Stress is not helping me.

This is Thursday morning. Okay Roy is working on in the bathroom and I will but together this futon.
There are two sets of legs. Okay I texted Kelly a picture of them.
She told me the short ones.

Now what do I need to do about this? The person that put this together was, maybe had a few drinks?
They used a screw gun, Wrong to use on this cheat furniture. It might cost a lot, but in the end, it is still cheat, stuff.
I need to take this all apart and redo it. Wow, this was not planned, either?
Okay cut a piece of paneling to fit into the hole we made.

It pretty good. The vanity will go right over this.

Okay let us turn the water off now, before we do anything else. Roy turned as far as he could. I got a small pilers and tried to turn it a little more. It started leaking??? WHY? O open the valve back up and left it alone. We are done with the pipes.
STRESS NOT NEEDED.

Put new modeling up next to the ceiling to make it look great. Then put the light up. Very good. We are done here, in the bathroom.

I didn't take any pictures of the front door lock. But I put it in and used the code the paper told me to.
I will let the sisters put in their code. That was another $75.00 that we didn't plan on doing.
I did take pictures before we left.

Okay I texted Dee, telling her we have a problem with the shut off of the main water.
I drove back home and will come back later on tonight.  So, I drove back to her home around 6pm or so. I walked around showing her all we did and then showed her the main valve that will not shut off.
Oh, I asked if she would like us to take away the trash out front, plus the sofa. The garbage cans were left full of the old vanity plus. We didn't take out.  So, I told her $75.00 to take it to the landfill.
The went over the labor bill, then the supplies I bought too.

Each job we did I put a price next to. Then went over the supply parts I bought.
Came up with $657.00. I told her all we did that didn't plan on.

Then I gave here Mike the plumper, his number and told her how to go to the office and ask them to dig up the main valve near the street. So, they could shut the line off.

Oh, yesterday Roy and I loaded up the truck and went to the landfill. To drop off.
Afterwards we went over to another house to look at some work,
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

This shouldn't be too bad? All we need to do is replace a 2x4 piece of drywall. The go out back and clean up the yard. Take some trash away.
There is a piece of 12" molding we need to replace too.

WHAT????

Okay coming to the end of the school year. Senior's Prom, is happening this night. (Saturday April 29th)

Well to get you up to speed, Chef Gray (Jeanne my wife) has been working since last week, trying to get everything ready for this evening's Prom. So, on the way to the school, we stopped and got some breakfast, at Waffle House.
The place was very busy and noisy. But we ordered and our food came out somewhat warm. NOT HOT. But as I talked with my lovely wife, they are very busy and it will be okay. But as she looked at her grits, NO WAY, am I eating these. Lumpy, she got home fries instead. Started eating and she was not happy. We asked for a refund. No problem. I ate what I had.
Just not a good start for our day.

Got to the school and started setting up stations for the students coming in to help us. Miss Yeager came in to help too. Very much a BIG blessing.

Okay we have the food ready to go over. I started out and took one load of 2 small ovens, to heat up whatever is needed. Plus, it filled up the back of the Kia.
Then I came back for more items.
Got some what set up at the prom site.

I didn't take any picture except this one. The room where the students were was very dark. Plus, very loud music.
So, I just tried to keep things going and coming.
Near the end of the evening, I took three loads of things we didn't need any more back to the school.
Then my final trip we got everything else.
My wife rented a van for transportation for the student that helped us, back and forward. Miss Yeager drove her SUV. which, if she was helpful for us, we would have had to take many more trips, Thank you Miss Yeager, very much. Plus carrying things and students in her SUV.
Meanwhile we all got back to the school.

This was the food left over. Everyone got something to eat and helped us pack it all up, put it into the refrigerators, Plus some in the freezers too.
As we were packing things up, it was time to get out of there and get home. THE TIME WAS 1:30AM.
We were both tried and ready to call it a night.
Slept pretty good and got up and watch Pastor Craig online. He is going thru the Book of 1 Corinthians. Very well done, Pastor.

Jeanne and I needed to get away for a little while. We brought some breakfast and went down to the Jetty.

Thes were the leftovers (chicken salad sandwiches)
What a beautiful day. But you can see the white caps. The wind was blowing pretty strong. Even before we left out home there was a couple of weather reports of tornadoes touched down, down south. No damage at our home. A lot of mangos on the ground and Jeanne and I went around and picked them all up. Saving the larger ones and giving the small ones to our neighbor next store. He has pigs that we give him our leftovers and whatever Jeanne does in her kitchen at the school.
BUT WHAT A BEAUTFUL DAY. Thank you, Jesus.

Okay now need to get back to the school and make sure the alarm is set.

I showed Jeanne this and I asked her if they are doing a story on her? Not that she knows of.
Maybe it just saying thank you for all she got done for the Seniors?
She really does deserve, the thank you.
I want to say THANK YOU JESUS FOR USING US.

This is what happen this last week.

Okay, this is Tuesday morning. Jon Bunch and I had breakfast at a new and old restaurant. I mean is this restaurant I am talking about has been there for many years. It just changed hands about four months ago. So, Jon asked where would you like to go for breakfast? So, as we were talking about it, he asked about the Sacred Grounds Corner Cafe? Well, I have been told that they have some good food. Why not try it? I told him. So, we drove over there and had a great breakfast and just sat there and talked for a hour or so. Just trying to get caught up on all that has been going on in his life.
I have known Jon for over 25 years plus. He is the one that took over my ministry at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I used to oversee the Parking Ministry. That meant, our jobs were to get cars in and out of the parking areas that we have. While I was doing that, we had over 48 volunteers.
Back then we had Wednesday night two church services and Saturday night. Then on Sunday we had three church services. Our ministry was to get cars parked and then after service get them out as soon as possible. The reason was we had another service getting ready to start up. Now since COVID 19 things have changed a lot. Church cut back on services. Now there is only Saturday evening, Then Sunday, I think they still have three services. But the sad part is, they are not coming out like they used to. The seats are only about third full. So,, parking cars is not that big of a deal.
Okay, so back in 2005, I was leaving to go to the Bahamas to oversee The Adventure Learning Centre Camp and the Maintenace department. So, I needed a replacement for that ministry and Jon Bunch came to mind and I asked him if he would like to help me out for a while of so? He told me sure, why not? So ever since then has been the man to oversee it.
Okay Jon has many other things going on in his life. The sad part is, his wife Jan. passed away last March and then his mom passed away month later.
So, as we sat there and tried to get caught up, we had much to talk about. Plus, I was asking a lot about who is where and what has happening?
I can tell you this, I really do miss Calvary very much and all that use to go on there.
Plus, I miss The Bahamas too. I have been very much involved with many things at Calvary, 16 years I was on staff.  Then at the ALC, I was there for 8 years. Crazy how thing keep going on.
Okay, that is enough about all that.

On Wednesday afternoon, Jeanne and I had appointment at Doctor Jones office. He had them take another set of X rays and looking at them, that is my right knee on the left, then right one. The last one it is bent, a little. The doctor looked at them and asked if I had any pains? Not really pains. Just when I sit for while, my knees get stiff. So, it takes me a few minutes to get up and walk around.
So he told me that all is great and if we have any problems to come on back. But today was our final appointment. I shook his hand and thanked him very much for all he did for me.

Okay now this is Thursday morning. We will be feeding around 30 folks. This is the Top 10 Seniors. Plus, family. So, we are making Scrammed eggs, French Toast, bacon, sausage, fruit bowl. Plus had small croissants. Home fries too. I think there was more, but all I know we needed to get the food out by 8am.

Oh, we had Stata (eggs plus) Then Bread pudding.

It was a somewhat good turnout. The sad part is, there was 9 girls and one boy that made the Top 10 Seniors Students of Westwood High School.
I was talking with one of the police officers that oversee the security at the school.
I made a comment about, back in my time of school.1960's I really remember the top students then, were boys. It just was not on the minds of the girls to show their skills, back then.
Maybe this is showing you my age? I am old fashion.
We I believe that everyone enjoyed themselves and we had a little food left over, for the students that helped us put this all together. I had to make more eggs and bacon. But we all got something to eat and it all went well.
Right now, is Saturday morning. I could not sleep. I start thinking about all we have in front of us this day. My mind starts racing and asking, are we ready for today????  So, I got up at 3:45am. My little girl is still sleeping. Maybe until 9am?
I know my baby has it all written down and she believes we are doing well.
Plus, she will ask me, WHO IS REALLY IN CONTROL???
That is Jesus Christ Our KING.
Thank you, Lord for such a Godly woman.
Oh, I didn't tell you what we are doing today.
We are providing appetizers for the Senior Prom this evening.
I will share more with you in the next couple of days.
Please say a prayer or two for us. Looking at about 275 seniors and chaperones.
Prayerfully we will have around 8 students helping us all day long and evening.
Preparing the food and servicing it too.
This last week, most everything it made and just needs to be put on serving platters and Chafers, to keep the food warm.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR ALL HE IS DOING IN OUR LIVES.

Doing a couple of oil and filter changes. FUN TIME!!!!

This is the 2004 Ford F150. This is our truck that we use to pull the boat around, plus I used the truck on last Saturday afternoon, get the rock.
Last week I stopped at T.R. Auto repair. This crew worked on our KIA during that time. While I was there, I asked, how much would they charge to change the oil on our truck? $60.+
So, why spend that kind of money?

WOW that was dirty oil.

Okay now my little truck. It is kind of funny. I used to change my oil, it really seams a lot harder, as I get older. Hey getting down on my knees and crawling along the ground is, no fun.
But, it only cost us $19.00, 5 quarts oil. oil filter $4.98=$24.00+ That is each vehicle.
I can tell you this, it was worth my time doing it. I bounce back the next day. Pains are gone.

On Saturday we flew back home. Sept. 5thn 2026

Okay I got up early and took a drive. I went to Dunkin Donuts for 6 donuts and a couple of coffees. Oh, I got a couple of items for Billy. B...
