Helping a buddy's girl friend move in.

Well I got a call the night before from Larry. he was asking if we could help move his girl friend into her new home. I did have other plans to finish up Betsy's bathroom. But we did this first. 

This is only a one bedroom and bath. But it is big enough for her. I would not even mind living here. It is very spacious land laid out nicely. 

At the end the move went very well and Larry paid us and all is done.

She took my card and told me that she would be calling to get some work done around there. 

So at the end we got us a customer too. 

Another finished job. Betsy's bathroom.

Well Roy and I had to go back and finish up Betsy's bathroom. All we needed to do was put in the 1/4 round base board and replace the guts in the toilet. 

I have been using a compound saw of Roy's brother's (Richie's) It really does make the job complete. The 45's really come out looking like we know what we are doing. 

The guts in the toilets were just worn out. So at the end of the day, it is done and I got a text from Betsy over the week-end how mush she loves it. Betsy still works too so her daughter was home to let us finish up. 

Roy and I had to drive up to Home Depot for something, so we stopped at Burger King. Now looking at the cup what do you see? I see pickles. I asked one of the workers there what does this all mean? She told me look closer and see the finger of Frankenstein. 

I ask again what does that have to do with pickles? She just walked away and laughed. I guess this as to do with Halloween???? 

Still not sure what the pickles are about??

This is Betsy' s home.

Roy and I got a call last week that Betsy has a couple of soft spots in her bathroom. So we went over an found out there are two soft spots. So I dug up under the one. Notice is was dry. So we will just put a couple of sheets of plywood over the old flooring. 

Okay that is all in. Now the new flooring. It was not slapping in that easy at first, but we got the hang of it. 

Okay all in and looking good. Now we have some trouble with the toilet. The tank bolts are rusted out. So thinking. Don't put it in until we get new bolts plus get the 1.4 round in first of all. 

So now the floor is in and ready to finish it up the next day. 

Hey I can tell you this, I am so glad we don't put in new flooring on large jobs. I even worn the knee pads.  My knees were hurting that night. 

But the real neat thing is He is still using me to help others and make some money too. 

On the road again, Yes Lauderdale on my way.

That is correct I am on my way south again. This is Tuesday and I have a dentist appointment at 10 am. I left my home at 7 am to make sure I got down there in time. That right I thinking I should be there in less than two hours, but that never works out. 

There is a lot of traffic on the north side. But here, not to bad. 

Until I get to main road to my dentist appointment. There is always traffic here and there. But I made it in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Still crazy. 

This is her office and stations. 

She really has done a nice job remodeling this place and very friendly too. 

I think about two weeks ago they had their grand opening. It was on Facebook. 

I have been going to her for over four or five years. She use to work for another dentist in down town Fort Lauderdale. But she ventured out and started her own practice, 

She has always been very fair to me and given me great service. Her staff are very nice and friendly and warm. They always ask about my driving down, plus what have I been doing. Over all she is my dentist and it really is worth the drive down here. Plus she has very small hands, so I don't have to open my mouth all the way, like I have gone to male dentist and they all have huge hands. 

Over all I know she is giving me her best service too. It seems like I spend about $3,000 or more each year, but I know the teeth are in good hands. 

Stopped by Janice's home.

She has this huge rubber tree in her back yard. She would like us to trim it back some what? I looked at it and told her sorry. The work is not cutting the tree it is hauling it away. It would take ad least 6 or more trips to the landfill. So charging her would be on the high side. I know she told me that there is a guy that would cut it and haul it away for $150.00. I think that is a great price for this work. 

He has a large dump truck to haul things away. it would be a good day of work for him. 

Over in back of her house, she has this area that she stores things. But there is a a small leak in the upper corner of the roof and the shed. I have seal ed it before, but I guess it needs more? So I used almost full gallon on here again and see what happens. She had the sealer already, so the labor was $20.00. I told her not sure if this is good or not? She understands. 

On Monday night I had a chance to drive south to Port Saint Lucie and play some pickle ball. It was some hard games. There were three guys that usually play together. They are pretty good. But then two collage aged guys came over and it really was some fun. But, boy I was tired. But what a great work out. 

Plus I need to take a break on playing tennis and pickle ball for a week or so. My shoulder is sore. 

Folks if you have never played some sports like this, you are really missing some fun. Plus you walk away and say, wow I am tied. 

We need to keep moving, these old bones need some work out. 

Praise Him and just let Him use you today. 

Another Sunday at the beach. No Red Tide here.

 I have been really trying to keep my tan. So every Sunday after church I come down to this beach, on Hutchinson Island. 

 After wards I usually drive over to Aldis But today I thought maybe I cane get a little bit more stuff I need at Walmart. 

When I was growing up there is a farm in Webster Mayer's I am thinking this is the same Mayer's that is near my old high school R.L.Thomas. 

I remember my dad driving over there to get our apple cider and apples every fall time. 

Then to see it in Walmart. That is pretty awesome. 

It was funny I was going to buy some and then I saw the price. 

Wow I really am a cheap guy. 

That right on another drive south.

Okay I came south one more time. My main reason was to see a good friend and his wife. That would be Monty and his lovely wife. They live in the Bahamas. The real neat thing was the guys I use to hang out with in Nassau were here for a Men' s retreat. They were all staying at the same hotel. The Hampton in Plantation, Fl I got there pretty early hoping the guys were still having breakfast. Which they were. I sat around with them until the class was going to start. So I asked if we could take a group picture? 

Okay these are the guys that are very much involved with Calvary Bible, of Nassau, Bahamas. 

Left to right, Micheal, Pastor Nickolas (youth pastor) Patrick, Shadeville, Rodney,Shawn, Kevin, Erold and Wilfred Jack. He is the over seer of this trip. 

It was really nice to just hang with these guys until Monty gets back. 

I sat in the lobby waiting for Monty. But I sat there and no show. 

Okay, him and his wife are out shopping. I guess I will hang out with these guys some more? I sat in the classes and really enjoyed going over this book. 

Patrick did a wonderful teaching. I believed everyone got something out of it. Afterwards they took a break. Going out to lunch. They even offer to pay for my lunch. With was very nice of them. I know we were all there for each other while I lived in Nassau. So I really did appreciate that. 

We went to a place called Cheddar;s Restaurant. It was a little ways down the road, but worth the trip. The guys all pretty much ordered the ribs. I got a good tasty hamburger. So I asked to take a couple more shots of them. 

Hey these guys are Godly guys and really trying to walk with Him. 

We got back to the hotel and I texted Monty again. He hasn't got back there yet. So I said my good byes and left for home. 

Hey I am very blessed to be able to know I have good Christian brothers I could call on at anytime.

I hope I will be getting over there near the end of Nov. 

We will see what Our Lord has planned out. 

Driving around the park. I didn't know we can bury folks here?????

I guess I have a sick sense of humor. I guess they had to dig this area up for repairs? Not sure who put the flag there? 

This is Beverly's back of her stove. She wants us to take the old one out in front of her home, for junk. Then pick up a new (old) one. In the park here. We had to take the wires off of the old one to put on the new one. To say all this is, a friend of her's bought a NEW one stove at Jetson's Appliances. They delivered it with out the cord. She told me that they wanted $60.00 plus to install a new cord on the new stove. CRAZY.

After that we went over to Annie's home. She wants us to put up a couple of blinds. Plus come back and do a couple of other projects. 

So guess this is Thursday now. We came in and washed off the lattice work under her home. Plus went to Home Depot and bought some plastic 2" strips to go along the top of the lattice. 

Then inside the window ledge needs to be replaced. Not sure how but it ha water damage. 

So we had to rip out the old stuff and put in some supports along the front near the window itself. Not sure how they fastened the fist board? But we put pieces of 1"x 4" x 12" to support the board along the window. 

These are th small pieces we used to support the boards. 

Ii was very happy to see how it came out.

The next day Roy and I did the back bedroom one too. 

Here we didn't need to pull the old stuff out. It worked great for the support that was needed. We just put a new 1/4 plywood right over the old one and sealed it in. 

Plus she had  three more blinds to put up too. At the end of two days work. She was very happy and we were too. 

I guess this must be near the end of the week. Looking back we only had a few jobs this last week. The reason is by looking at my pictures I guess Tuesday we didn't work. Wednesday was Beverly. Thursday and Friday was Annie's 

I am very blessed to have any thing to do and make a buck or two. Over all we have some fun too.
