What is Easter Monday Fun Day is all about.
During these days it is so nice to know and see how the Bahamian people look forward to this day off. So for the many years ALC has been here, we have always had a Fun day set aside to bring glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ, this special day. Now we always praise Him during our time here at ALC. But today is a day to show the Bahamian people what we are all about and why we do what we do.
There are four Fun Days set aside to show this place off. The reason is during the week we bring in students from the schools here and spend time showing them about nature and God's creation and His love for each and every one of us. But during those weeks we really don't cover our cost to run this place. So Randy Grebe and his wife started having these Fun Days just to raise some more funds and really let the people know why and what we do here.
I am so happy to see my friends and family come out here to help us and just show Christ's love through what we do and greet our neighbors too.
The rain pretty much stayed away most of the day. A little spriy here and there, but no real trouble to talk about. So around 6:45pm we were cleaning up and putting away all the tings we used to have a good day. During that time the rain came down and cooled us off. We did get the place back in order for this week ahead and I praise our Lord for all the help to make it happen.

Hello again, Update.
Just to let you all know I have changed my profile picture. Yes I was asked a couple of days ago, why keep that old picture there. Get a updated one, thanks Harri. So Saturday night after the dinner we had with the singles. I took a couple of self portrait of myself and hope it looks good enough for all of you out there?
I have been asked many times, why am I not in the pictures? Well just think about it a second or so, I am the one taking them?
The rain has stopped and I am praising our Lord. Blue sky and looking great out there. Now need to get over to ALC and start getting tings up and ready for our PARTY.

Easter Sunday night at ALC Barn
We as a staff had a chance to come together in the Barn and have some food and just a time to reflex on Easter. Why did Jesus die and raise again? Mark and I were talking about that. We then tried to start a game called Apple to Apples. No it is not a computer game. Katy and Ryan tried to ex plan it to us, I am sorry but I am not sure still how to play. Then I heard someone say let us eat. I was saved by the bell. Then we all had some food, chicken, mac and cheese, devil eggs and salad. Then had ice cream and cake that Katy made for us. Commeal and Eldroa did pretty much every thing else. It was nice just to relax and have a some fellowship.
Then we sat around a table and sofas. Mark was telling us about today and all that will prayerfully happen. Yes today is our Fun Day, Easter Monday. We are hoping to see many come out, 900 or so. Hopefully they will spend the day with us at the ALC. We try to do ad least four Fun Days each year.
The reason is to raise funds so we can do our Summer program. We do charge kids for Summer program, but never full price. If we did, we would not have that many kids show up. I have talked before about our cost pre kid. Well during the Summer time we open our place up to children ages 6 to 12 years old. We only charge them $75.00 a week. If you sat down to figure out the cost for that week. Well is sure a lot more than that to run it. The children stay with us from 8:00am until 4:00pm. It is full day of of fun and teaching them things about Nature and all that is around us. Plus our main ting is Jesus Christ teaching. I am not sure what our program is this year, but when I find out I will let you all know.
I look our of my door and see RAIN. That is a good thing for now, but I ask our Lord for it to stop by 11:00am, that is the time we open our gates to the public.
I main job today is to keep supplies and anything else full. That means I do the running around and driving to buy what ever else is needed to keep this things going. I enjoy that part of my job. The reason is I see pretty much every one that comes in and have the time to take pictures too.

This is what happen on Sept 11 2001. Pentagon
This is a little-known story from the Pentagon on 09/11/2001:
During a visit with a fellow chaplain, who happened to be assigned to the Pentagon, I had a chance to hear a first-hand account of an incident that happened right after Flight 77 hit the Pentagon.
The chaplain told me what happened at a daycare center near where the impact occurred. This daycare had many children, including infants who were in heavy cribs. The daycare supervisor, looking at all the children they needed to evacuate, was in a panic over what they could do. There were many children, mostly toddlers, as well as the infants that would need to be taken out with the cribs. There was no time to try to bundle them into carriers and strollers. Just then a young Marine came running into the center and asked what they needed. After hearing what the center director was trying to do, he ran back out into the hallway and disappeared. The director thought, 'Well, here we are—on our own.'
About 2 minutes later, that Marine returned with 40 other Marines in tow. Each of them grabbed a crib with a child, and the rest started gathering up toddlers. The director and her staff then helped them take all the children out of the center and down toward the park near the Potomac and the Pentagon. Once they got about 3/4 of a mile outside the building, the Marines stopped in the park, and then did a fabulous thing - they formed a circle with the cribs, which were quite sturdy and heavy, like the covered wagons in the Old West. Inside this circle of cribs, they put the toddlers, to keep them from wandering off. Outside this circle were the 40 Marines, forming a perimeter around the children and waiting for instructions. There they remained until the parents could be notified and come get their children.
The chaplain then said, "I don't think any of us saw nor heard of this on any of the news stories of the day. It was an incredible story of our men there. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. The thought of those Marines and what they did and how fast they reacted; could we expect any less from them? It was one of the most touching stories from the Pentagon."
Remember Ronald Reagan's great compliment: "Most of us wonder if our lives made any difference. Marines don't have that problem."
God Bless the USA , our troops, and you.
If you care to offer the smallest token of recognition and appreciation for the military, please pass this on and pray for our men and women who have served and are currently serving our country and pray for those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

This is a long story BUT please take the time and enjoy it.
Jeremy was born with a twisted body and a slow mind. At the age of 12 he was still
in second grade, seemingly unable to learn. His teacher, Doris Miller, often became exasperated
with him. He would squirm in his seat, drool, and make grunting noises. At other
times, he spoke clearly and distinctly, as if a spot of light had penetrated the
darkness of his brain. Most of the time, however, Jeremy just irritated his
teacher.
One day she called his parents and asked them to come in for a consultation. As the
Forresters entered the empty classroom, Doris said to them, "Jeremy really
belongs in a special school. It isn't fair to him to be with younger children
who don't have learning problems. Why, there is a five year gap between his age
and that of the other students."
Mrs. Forrester cried softly into a tissue, while her husband spoke. "Miss Miller," he
said, "there is no school of that kind nearby. It would be a terrible shock for
Jeremy if we had to take him out of this school. We know he really likes it
here." Doris sat for a long time after they had left, staring at the snow
outside the window. Its coldness seemed to seep into her soul. She wanted to
sympathize with the Forresters. After all, their only child had a terminal
illness. But it wasn't fair to keep him in her class. She had 18 other
youngsters to teach, and Jeremy was a distraction. Furthermore, he would never
learn to read and write. Why waste any more time trying?
As she pondered the situation, guilt washed over her. Here I am complaining when my
problems are nothing compared to that poor family, she thought. Lord, please
help me to be more patient with Jeremy. From that day on, she tried hard to
ignore Jeremy's noises and his blank stares. Then one day, he limped to her
desk, dragging his bad leg behind him.
"I love you, Miss Miller," he exclaimed, loud enough for the whole class to hear.
The other students snickered, and Doris' face turned red. She stammered, "Wh-why
that's very nice, Jeremy. N-now please take your seat."
Spring came, and the children talked excitedly about the coming of Easter. Doris told
them the story of Jesus, and then to emphasize the idea of new life springing forth, she
gave each of the children a large plastic egg. "Now," she said to them, "I want you to take this
home and bring it back tomorrow with something inside that shows new life. Do
you understand?"
"Yes, Miss Miller," the children responded enthusiastically-all except for Jeremy.
He listened intently; his eyes never left her face. He did not even make his usual noises.
Had he understood what she had said about Jesus' death and resurrection? Did he
understand the assignment? Perhaps she should call his parents and explain the
project to them.
That evening, Doris' kitchen sink stopped up. She called the landlord and waited an
hour for him to come by and unclog it. After that, she still had to shop for
groceries, iron a blouse, and prepare a vocabulary test for the next day. She
completely forgot about phoning Jeremy's parents.
The next morning, 19 children came to school, laughing and talking as they placed
their eggs in the large wicker basket on Miss Miller's desk. After they
completed their math lesson, it was time to open the eggs. In the first egg,
Doris found a flower. "Oh yes, a flower is certainly a sign of new life," she
said. "When plants peek through the ground, we know that spring is here." A
small girl in the first row waved her arm. "That's my egg, Miss Miller," she
called out. The next egg contained a plastic butterfly, which looked very real.
Doris held it up. "We all know that a caterpillar changes and grows into a
beautiful butterfly. Yes, that's new life, too." Little Judy smiled proudly and
said, "Miss Miller, that one is mine." Next, Doris found a rock with moss on it.
She explained that moss, too, showed life. Billy spoke up from the back of the
classroom, "My daddy helped me," he beamed.
Then Doris opened the fourth egg. She gasped. The egg was empty. Surely it must
be Jeremy's she thought, and of course, he did not understand her instructions.
If only she had not forgotten to phone his parents. Because she did not want to
embarrass him, she quietly set the egg aside and reached for another. Suddenly,
Jeremy spoke up. "Miss Miller, aren't you going to talk about my egg?"
Flustered, Doris replied, "But Jeremy, your egg is empty." He looked into her
eyes and said softly, "Yes, but Jesus' tomb was empty, too."
Time stopped. When she could speak again, Doris asked him, "Do you know why the tomb
was empty?" "Oh, yes," Jeremy said, "Jesus was killed and put in there. Then His
Father raised Him up."
The recess bell rang. While the children excitedly ran out to the school yard, Doris
cried. The cold inside her melted completely away.
Three months later, Jeremy died. Those who paid their respects at the mortuary were
surprised to see 19 eggs on top of his casket, all of them empty.
If this blesses you, pass it on.

This is a thank you, sent out.
It is so neat to see how our Lord provides for us each and everyday. Last week Tim and I were talking about how things break around here and then we need to buy new sometimes. If you have been with me for any time here or on my blog. I know I have shown and talked about the cost of items here. The reason is pretty simple: They buy it in the states and ship it over here then they have to pay the duty on it and then would like to make a couple of buck off of it. It all sounds good. But the cost is up there. I am only using one example.
The main drill that we use here at the ALC is battery. But we do use a electric one every once and while. Well two weeks ago, our old drill stopped working. I went out to price a new here, $189.00 a DeWalt. I saw Tim the following day and told him about it. He asked if there would be any one coming over in the next week or so? I told no. He then said oh yeah my folks are coming this week. So Tim asked them and they said no problem. Well yesterday they came in and GIVE me a brand new DeWalt plus some other items we need before.
So my story is, our Lord provides. You have to ask and He will provide.

Well anothter week has passed
Since last Friday we had a group in called Patmos. There was 22 college aged students. (Pastor Chet's Crew too) I can tell you this, I was very blessed to have them here. Here is a couple of the jobs that they got finished.
Torn out the old board walk in back of ALC. 100 feet was replaced. Good workmen ship too.
Repainted the Large RED Barn. Looks like some pros came in and did the work.
Repainted two of the six cabins at the Camp. Now I need to paint the other four more, to make this place glow.
Clear out some burnt bush. We had a large fire a while back and they clean up the area pretty good.
Pressure washed and painted the front wall at the Centre. Looking good. Now need to finish it up.
Over all these students did well. Plus I believe that they were blessed too by the teaching and their time seeking our Lord. I watch them every morning, they were off in their own little world studying His Word. I was very blessed by seeing that each day. My prayer for them is to keep seeking Him and maybe down the road they could come back and helps us here.
Oh just a side note. I really was happy to see the old staff of Patmos return too.
