Well last week I broke my rim, which I knew I would have to pay the piper. Go you a bike shop.
On my GPS I found this place. I called him and he gave me a price for a new rim $45.00. I thought that is not bad at all. So I drove over to his place and had my bike with me. He looked at the bike and said he gave me the wrong price for the wrong rim. My rim is made a little different than the one he told me over the phone. No problem, he told me that he could use my old spokes and have it ready is a day or so. Then I asked how much. He said $45.00, still. I asked don't you have to take the spokes off and redo them n the new rim. yes, that will be okay.
So on Saturday I went over and picked the bike up. Still $45.00. Thank you very much and I was a happy camper.
Okay I just went up the road on Monday. I was coming back home and the front tire started leaking. Come on, why? A friend picked me up and brought my bike and I back to my place. I loaded it up in the truck and went and see my old friend Pedrito. The reason was the tube I had as a spare had a hole in it. I guess someone at Walmart bought a new tube and put a old tube in the box. Then returned it. Oh well. I like visiting Pedrito. I got there and I had the tire off the rim already. So all he had to do is repair the liner that goes around the rim to protect the tube from the spokes. Then put the inside liner in and the tube. All he used was his hands and baby power.
He put baby power inside the tire itself and then put it on the tube and a little on the inside liner too. Then just worked it around and around. Then blew it up. Let the air back out and check to see if the tube could have gotten pinched.
Blew it up to around 90 pounds and here goes. I bought another tube too, for my spare one that I carry. All is well now and brought it back home and going for a ride today.
This a family business. His wife sit outsides and reads a book and comes in when you are ready to pay. Last Saturday his son was in the shop too. He seems like a very well behaved young man.
