These are just a few items I took pictures of the prices, in the Bahamas.

Now if you look closely you can see the VAT Tax added. $4.99 + $.37 = $5.36.

Now what is VAT? 

Valve Added Tax. This is something new that the Bahamas had to start doing. The reason is through out the world everyone know VAT. Not to many other countries still use customs. 

So as of 2015 there has been a VAT added to each and every item that is sold to the customer. Mean while now the retailer has to pay to the government that 7.5%. Plus I know there is still duty on getting things into the country. Shipping things over. 

So the way they do it now, I really like. This way you know the total price before you get to the register.
