What should we do on Memorial Day?

Greg (cousin) and I went over to the club house. They have a very nice looking pool table. The cushions on the sides are some what shot. But we are just enjoying our time. 

Meanwhile there were people around the pool at this time too. I think it was around 11 am or so. I think at 1pm there is a cook out happening here? You know hot dogs and fixings. 

As we were playing I was getting my butt kicked. But it was for fun and enjoyment spending time with Greg. 

We got back to Bonita's home and sat around and watched some TV. Meanwhile she was getting ready so we could go out and have a nice lunch together. Greg drove us to Sonny's BBQ. 

Got inside and saw this cute guy. I think I was told many years ago, that Cypress Gardens was one of the first Florida attraction. Looking on Goggle I found out that it is correct. Jan 2 1936 as a botanical garden planted by Dick Pope Sr. and his wife Julie. Over the years it became one of the biggest attraction in Florida, known for it's water ski shows and garden and Southern Belles. 

As sitting there and just talking about what as been going on in our lives and just hanging out. We had a wonderful lunch and after wards went to the grave sites of their parents. Walter and Thelma. As Uncle Wally was a vet and just to go and see all the American Flags on the graves was very rewarding. That is what this day is all about. The ones that have fallen because of wars and all the evil that is in the world.

Helping out my cousin Bonita in, Winter Haven, Fl.

There was plenty of leaves in her gutters. So they are now all cleaned out. I wish I brought some tools with me. I could have bought some chicken wire and put up over the gutters. Greg he brother came in on Sunday night and I was talking to him about the leaves. He was telling me about this tool you an get on line or HSN. You hook it up to to your hose and washes the leaves out. That sounds pretty good too. Next time here I will put up some chicken wire for now. 

Now to wash her house down. I use that stuff that I get at Home Depot. It really works great.The house is clean and all is well. Might need a paint job in the next year or so? 

The work projects are some what caught up for now. 

Need to to go shopping. We went to Walmart first an they didn't have a couple of items that she wanted. So Publix next choice.  

I don't go into Publix that much, so maybe all their stores have this sign on them. DO NOT ENTER. That to me was kinda of weird. Why have a sign up on a door DO NOT ENTER. Now I know there are two doorways at Publix. I could see EXIT ONLY. It was funny to me. 

I have a friend I have talked to about this. Peanut Butter and Jelly crackers. The funny thing is I am not sure who it was. But here it is. Peanut Butter and Jelly crackers. 

Okay when did the OVALS pickles come out? I don't think I have ever heard of that? 

My cousins were telling me that they have been around for a long time. Greg explained it to me. If you are making a sandwich and want a couple of pickles on it. use the Oval ones. You only need a couple of them. I have used the sandwich pickles before. but not the Oval ones. 

I just thought WHY OVAL? 

Oh I really hope and pray all is well on your end. 

I think the rain has stopped here now??? 

This is a small job I did last week.

It is kinda of sad how the weed eaters eat up the plastic around some of these homes. So I told her how I can repair this with some good old pieces of lumber. (Dog Ear fencing) 

I cleaned up her air unit and painted it with spray paint. I think is looks great. 

You can see what I am talking about the holes in the skirting. 

This area was a pain in the buttt. The reason was these are thorn bushes. So I walk away and had some punctures in my arms.

I love when a plan comes together.I did go around the back and did that side too. She came out and looked and told me, it looks great. She is very happy too. 

Like I said I did this a week ago. 

Mean while the rain has been coming on and off for two weeks or more? 

Well this last week -end we were to get 4 inches of rain. I am not sure if we did. I was over in Winter Haven spending some time with my cousins. I will write about them tomorrow.

This is a large bottles of Mountain Dew. 24 oz. This only cost me $3.99 a case. The sad part is I texted my cousin and asked if she would like some? I left and went home to have lunch. She texted me back and yes would love some. So I went back and found out they were all sold out. Sorry about that. 

The stuff only last a little while here. 

Okay look at all  I bought for $20.28. Not the paper towels. Okay the juices $.59 each. The bread is free. Three (3) boxes of Cheez-it's $1.29

Folks if you have one of these stores in your neighborhood. Please check them out. I really not sure if there are others locations. All know I am very blessed to have one about 4 miles away.

 Praise HIM. 

I am on my way to Winter Haven to spend some time with my cousins.

When was the last time you ate humble pie????

Should be a easy fix. Take down the old light and put up a new. 

As I was taking down the old one. Not thinking of testing the switches. Piece of cake. All the white wires go together. three black wire, I think are together? Then one black and red are together, I think? 

This is the top switch. traced it to the black and red wire. 

Now these wires I can not find where they go??? 

So I hooked up the light and it works, but only on the top switch. I am almost positive the bottom switch is to this light??? Okay what do I do now? I called a old friend in the park here. Murphy came over. I told him what has happened. He worked on it for about hour. The bottom switch still not working. I tired the wires together so her other lights work. I even called two electricians. Got their answering machine. I didn't sleep well at all that night. I think I know what I am doing? Okay I went over to another guys house I know, he does work in the park too. Mike. I told him my problem. Mike told me that he would look at it and see what is going on. He was scratching his head. Then asked me where is the switch for the fan. I told him I think it is broken and it runs off of the top light switch. Well we took off the cover of the fan. Tested it and that is bottom switch goes to. NO WAY??? 

Now I asked Joy (owner of the house) Can you tell me what switch goes to what. She tells us the top on is for the lights. The bottom one is for the FAN. REALLY, I need to humble myself and next time, not think I knew the answer?????

Now my thinking, the fan and light are right next to each other, WHY NOT HOOK THEM TOGETHER??? 

Oh well, I put up the new light and all is well. 

This is the other room I changed out the light here too. That one only had two wires. 

Plus you can see I put up trim around both of her mirrors in the bathroom. 

Murphy, the guy that came first. I saw him yesterday and told him about what I what happen? I was wrong and he just laughed and said, Oh Well. 

So I really need to test switches before I take them apart. REALLY!!!

I was WRONG. Help me LORD. 

Another work project up north. Melbourne, Florida

I worked on this about three months ago. Meanwhile she decided to change her mind. She didn't like the way the trim looked. The color was the problem. I took off the trim and she painted the closet white, a coupe of weeks ago. 

I came back and put up the white trim. She told me that it looks much better now. Hey I like the first one myself. But like I have been saying, since I work for others. All that matters is the customer happy at the end? 

While there this time. we went out and bought new closet doors for her bedroom. Hey we used the old hardware and I think they came out looking great. 

I have one more small job up here and prayerfully this Thursday I will get back up there and make a buck or two. 

Hey this morning the sun is out and the sky is beautiful. The reason to say all that is. For the last week and half. the rains have been coming. Hey we needed it and God provided. 

I am not complaining. 

This is Tuesday evening.

I went on a web site called Meeting Up. My buddy Don told me about this site. They were having a meeting here at the Vero Beach board walk, I thought? 

The time table said it was a happening at 6:30pm. It sounds good to me. As I have been trying to just go out and have some fun with others. Sometime it just doesn't work out. So I thought why not try this group? 

Well I walked back and forward. I went over on the main road seeing cars pull into a park lot there. I asked a couple of ladies if this is the group called Meeting Up? No they are going into that building to do line dancing. Oh okay. I went in and sat there for a couple of minutes and told them I am going back over to the beach to see if anyone shows up? 

Well I did meet a couple and a guy that was with them. I asked them if they ever heard of Meeting Up? The young lady told me yes and they meet on Wednesday nights here. So I guess I had the wrong date. 

Oh well. Life keeps going and I am enjoying the ride. Sometimes? 

Vacation is over for now.

I got a call from a friend's mom. She was telling me that she has a leak on her outside faucet (spicket). I went over and checked it out. Nothing is getting damaged. So I told her I would be back after my friends(Don and Meg) went back home. Okay Monday is here and I came back and dug up where she told me to. I could not find the valve. So like I said nothing is getting damaged. So I told her to call John at the office and have one of his guys come out and find the valve. 

Well a day went by and I stopped over here again. They still have not dug up the valve. So I tried digging at a different spot. Still no valve to be found. I went back home and got this blue glue. I used it once before on another outside faucet. It worked then. So I will try it again. and it is holding well. 

This blows my mind how you can repair a water line while the water is still on. I drove by there yesterday and still holding. 

After wards I decided to play golf. 

This is the second hole. How much closer can I hit this? This was my third shot. Now I had to take 4 stokes. Hey it is only a game. 

Now the next hole I got a birdie. Yes from here. It went into the hole. 2 stokes on this one. 

From here look how close this shot was. The sad part is after playing 9 holes I still only shot a 37. Hey some are good and some just not that good. 

At the end I enjoyed it and I got some exercise. 

Next time. 

Just a note since Don and Meg have left, last Sunday. It has been raining on and off. It has been a full week of rain. I know we need it and the lakes are filling up again. That is a good ting. 

I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday spending some time with our Lord. 

Last day to do pretty anything. Saturday.

We stopped at Sweeties to have breakfast. But noticed this sign out front. I guess if I got married again this would be me. I guess there are a lot of divorce men in this town? 

Drove over to the Farmer's Market and walked around and check thing out. 

I don't think we bought anything. But is still was some fun to look. 

I saw this beautiful Bull Dog. Wow he is wonderful. Very friendly and seems to be happy even. 

I talked with his owners and made a comment, most times I see these kind of dogs and their masters look just like them. This couple was in good shape and just laughed. 

After this headed back to my place and just laid around. Then Meg asked for ice cream. I told them about this place called Joy's down in Fort Pierce. 

The Snowbird Season is over. Just imagine if they were still here? The line would have gone out the door and around the block. But they sure know how to make their customers happy. A single is like $3,59. But the cone is filled to the top plus. 

Well Sunday has come and it is time to say our good byes at the Orlando Airport. We stopped at Micky D's. and had breakfast and headed that way. 

It really was fun having them here and the time we had at Disney was priceless. 

Not sure when but maybe during the summer I will get up their way to visit? 

It was a joy to spend this time together and just get some what caught up on our lives. 

I look forward in seeing them down the road and doing something else with them.
