It is like snow, Deep. Next beach is at Camp Bahamas.

Camp Bahamas, richard Albruy's Camp,

The start of our trip. Bo Hengy left at 7 pm.

What a GREAT trip to Eleuthera

That is right, this trip was off the chain and even more. We all left from Nassau, at 7pm. We rode over in a, they call fast ferry. The name is The Bo Hengy. It was a beautiful ride. The ship runs on two keels. The engine was so quit. By the pictures above you can how the guys just fell asleep with no problems at all. I couldn't sleep. I was so looking forward to this trip. I was not disappointed at all. Got into Govern Sound at 9pm. Richard Albury picked us up in his school bus. You will see a picture of it above. It took about 20 min tunes to get to our place where we stayed. The place was very clean and even really nice too. Pretty much had every thing you could need. That night I had a hard night. Just could not get warm enough. The guys had the air blasting at 65. I brought with me sweat pants and shirt. But every one was sleeping and I just wrapped myself up in two sheets and a beach towel.
the morning came fast and we all had to go out side and do some excising. Warm drills and then ran along the beach. You can see the sun raise that I saw in the pictures above. Ate a good breakfast and then headed out to Richard's Camp Bahamas. Long ride but really not traffic at all. A lot of bumps and holes in the road. made it safe there and you can see the building that he is building for the Camp. The room is 450 sq ft. and it has a bathroom too. He was telling me. He could build these and everything inside for $18,000.00 They are really nice and well built too.
Drove back to our apartments. Ate lunch and then relaxed the reason of the day. I slept for about two hours. Great time. I wanted to go down to the beach and sleep there. To many sand flies. They bite too. There evening a three guys came over and from Spanish Wells. I will tell you about that place tomorrow. Well we had a some good worshiping and Donald the guy in the picture above. he talked about how he had a lot of angry in himself and how he pretty much d all most everyone he knew. I don't have time to explained. But he got his head on straight and let God do a lot of work in his heart. Today he is a Pastor. It is so good to hear how God does so much in our lives each and everyday. I will tell you about Sunday next time.

Hello ALL

Hey I am not sure if I have shared about what is happening this week-end? I want you all to know that our Lord is soooooo Good to me. Yes, He has come through again. Okay the men at Calvary Bible have gotten together and raised up mu funds for this Men's Retreat, $300.00. We are going to island named Eleuthera. There is a place on the island called Camp Bahamas. We are taking a boat over there, it will take around two to half hours ride. Be leaving Friday night at 6:45pm. Then coming back on Sunday night around 11:00pm.The Theme is: Still Under Construction. I will go down through all that is planned out. Saturday Exercise, breakfast construction work, lunch, fishing, swimming and water sports, teaching and then dinner. Boy I am tire all ready just reading all this. Then Sunday Exercise, prayer breakfast, take a ferry over to another island to go to church. Lunch, another teaching, tour of Eleuthera. Then check in on the Bo Hengy at 9:00pm leave for home. So this week-end looks like a lot of things going on. And I am so grateful to be part of it. It is His grace and mercy that I have the chance to go and be with my brothers in Christ. So please if you think of us, Prayer is a good ting we all need this week-end. I hope to have pictures and stories to share when I get back. I will NOT bring my computer with me. So the Monday following is my next story.

Hey New picture for profile. I hope you like it.

Hey we had a great FUN DAY yesterday.

I have not received the final numbers on how many, but I know the place was humming. The real neat part was how all around us. There were churches down the road having all kinds of fun things going on. While I was driving to pick the candy cotton, I saw five churches setting things up. Bonce castes, tables for food, tents and so on. So I was thinking maybe we will not get that big of a turn out. BUT God had other plains for that. The place was rocking, we had a DJ kept us all jumping with the beat. The food was flying out of the kitchen. Just a note that place was CRAZY. Our s did a GREAT job making and serving everyone. There was a line every time I walked by. They didn't get a chance to caught their breath. Watching the climbing mountain, big lines there too. Horses, those three deserved today off. Walking around and being so good. I know pretty much every one had a part to do. Even the train was always full with kids and big people too. I just want to say thank you Lord for such a GREAT DAY. It looks like we had more than 1000 people come through our gates. That is sooooo GOOD. Thank you for your prayers.
Check out the pictures below.

This is from today's FUN DAY. Oct. 13, 2008

These are all from Easter FUN DAY

Hey the week-end is going on here.

I know back in the states they are looking at today as Columbus Day. Here this day is called Discovery Day. The reason for that is, back in the 70's people here just dug up every thing they could to destroy Don Christopher Columbus name. They just looked at how he killed the Indians here and how, they thought his ideas was to get gold and any other riches that he could steal. But the truth is. If he didn't come here, we might not have known who Christ is. He brought with him the Word of God and shared it with how ever he came across. The sad part of all this is, I had to learn this from a teaching that my Pastor lee taught yesterday. I have never heard any of this before in my life and that really is the sad part. You say Christopher Columbus here and the people get mad. They were taught that he killed every one he could so he would steal their stuff.
Okay enough on that. Today we are having a FUN DAY here at the ALC. We are looking to have over 1000 people come through our gates and just enjoy the day of things. I will write about it tonight or tomorrow. With pictures too. Keep us in prayer.

Nov 4th, please vote.

The upcoming election is the most critical election in the history of our nation. The very future of our nation’s foundation is at stake. Every person will be affected. If the liberals win, then our foundation will no longer be based on the traditional Judeo-Christian morality. It will gradually but assuredly be based on an ever shifting, ever moving foundation. If the liberals win, the damage can’t be stopped with elections two, four or forty years from now. America will forever be changed. We will keep seeing a gradual and growing hostility toward people of faith, especially Christians. The morals of our nation will continue to decline. Our children and grandchildren will pay the price.

In case you may think I’m a “the sky is falling” type of person, you should know: When it comes to predictions, I am a very reserved person. But not on this one. I cannot overstate the damage a liberal victory will do to our country. The upcoming election is the most important in the history of our nation. Yes, if the liberals win you will lose some of your religious freedoms and free speech rights. Churches and pastors will not be exempt. You will not be allowed to say certain things about a particular group. Every item of the homosexual agenda will be approved. All the laws protecting the unborn will be wiped away.

I cannot overemphasize the importance of the Nov. 4 election. That is why I urge you to vote and encourage your family members, friends, Sunday School class and church members to vote. America’s future – the future of your children and grandchildren – is at stake.

Sincerely,

Don

This is called the Upper Room

This is a update on the All Saints Camp.

Yes people are still coming over here to help us out at the Camp. It sure is neat to see how the Body of Christ works together and gets things done. Yes this last week a group from Singles at Calvary Ft Laud. Came over and cleared more land. Now the boys that know how to use more skilled tools. Well on Tuesday 5 guys came over to look and see what the next stage is to happen here. Two of the guys did survey work, another drew up plains, the other two helped out where ever needed. Just a quite note. There where over 9 bee hives in the Camp it self. Adam and Jason got a guy from here to get rite of them. He moved 4 of the hives. That cost Calvary Ft Laud, $800.00 dollars. So Adam and Jason thought maybe the bug that we use for ants and roaches, might work to kill the queen bees. Today Adam and Jason bought 12 cans of . I video tape is all. Jason threw 9 of them into one of the rooms where the bees where. It was called the Upper Room. So now tomorrow we will go back and see what happen. Remember one of these will cover 6000 Sq. Ft. This room was only 400 sq ft. I think is worked. The picture above show you the room. Plus the other picture is one of the foundations that the group before cleared off.

Good morning all

This is a small note. If you read the article below, you will noticed some words missing. The reason for that is for safety. They are keeping words out that might not be good words to write about. I really think is is funny how the article that you are reading below, fits so much in what I am telling you. There is really is no free press any more. Please I know they are only trying to protect their site and I understand that too. Just enjoy the article below and let me know what you think of it. I really do want to hear from people that read it. I see that there has been over 1650 hits since I started counting in May of this year. So I know someone is reading this and I would love to hear from you.

It is long BUT GOOD. Please read it.

I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT NOT OUR SOCIETY. IF I OFFEND ANYONE BY THIS, I REALLY DON'T APOLOGIZE.This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the f ootball game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod'It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country.'Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of ual perversion and call it 'an alternate lifestyl e,' and if someone is offended, that's OK.I can use it to c ondone ual promiscuity, by dispensing s and calling it, 'safe .' If someone is offended, that's OK.I can even use this public facility to present the merits of an unborn baby as a 'viable means of birth control.' If someone is offended, no problem...I can designate a school day as 'Earth Day' and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess 'Mother Earth' and call it 'ecology.'I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as 'simple minded' and 'ignorant' and call it 'enlightenment.'However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated. This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.Ne v ertheless, as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression. For this reason, I shall 'Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's,' and refrain from praying at this time.' However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet.'One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray. They prayed in the stands. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of Ame RI ca- the Seat of 'Justice' in the 'one nation, under GOD.'Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the FreedomFROM Religion. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!JESUS said, 'If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.' If you are not ashamed, pass this on . I'm not one bit ashamed to pass this on, Are you ?

Beautiful Christian Sister

'A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not shouting 'I'm clean livin,'
I'm whispering 'I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven'
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.
When I say.. 'I am a Christian' I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible, but God believes I am worth it.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I still feel the sting of pain...
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.
When I say... 'I am a Christian' I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!
Pretty is as Pretty does... but beautiful is just plain beautiful!

This is a concert I was at last night.

Workshipping God

last night was a great night. I took a friend, Marvin to a church called Grace. It's concert was to raise funds, food and clothing for the people of Inagua. These people I have took you about before. That is where the Patmos kids went to help repair roofs. They had music artist there. It was a good time just to get back on track with Him. The people performing are names that you would not know in the states. But here they are all well known. The picture above is near the end of our time together. These were the people that needed prayer. But like I said it really was a good time to sing and listen to young voices that are praising God. I will be talking with you soon.

Signs of a Stroke

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally . He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)
???????(i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue
NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other , that is also an indication of a stroke.

Hello from the islands.

I just want to say thank you to all of you out there that have been praying for me. The reason i say that, is because if you have not been, PLEASE do so. This last week just has been a rough one. Just one thing I will share with you. We have this large lawn mower, it is a Troy Bilt. The name is a good one and it has been faithful for the last 20 years. BUT it is coming to it last days. I have rebuilt the things that run the blades three times. Then I get a flat tyre. Repair it and I have another the other side go flat. The shifter, that is what drives it. It has broken two times. I have welded it seven time. Reason I an not that good of a welder. That is still working great. But I go yesterday out to get it. Flat tyre. What is He trying to show me???? Yes He wants us to buy a NEW ONE. That is TOM idea. No He wants me to learn more about welding and fixing things. So If you could say a prayer for me and maybe I can make it thought today.
I will take a picture of this great machine and you can see for yourself what I am talking about.

He Keeps Watch

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch upon the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3).
Everyone has seasons when they feel overwhelmed by the busyness of life. In fact, one of the tricks of the enemy is to get you so caught up in the everyday “hustle and bustle” so that he can distract you and make you feel disconnected from the Father. But no matter how overwhelmed you may feel, you can find rest in knowing that the eyes of the Lord are upon you. He sees everything you are going through and everything you are facing. He knows where you are right now, and He knows how to get you to where you need to go. He knows what you need, and He knows how to provide for you.
All He asks is that you stay in faith and obey His Word. The Psalmist said, “I have been young and I have been old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread.” Remember, God is faithful! He’s keeping watch over you. He’s keeping watch over your family. He’s keeping watch over His Word to bring it to pass in your life! Stand strong today knowing that you serve the God who sees and makes a way for you!
A Prayer for Today
Father in heaven, thank You for watching over me and making a way even when there seems to be no way. I trust that You will never leave me nor forsake me. I bless Your name today and always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him.

The Crosswalk

The Crosswalk
Every once and a while, a seemingly-simple email comes around that ends up
being quite profound. This is one of them.
Awesome!! We complain about the cross we bear but don't realize it is preparing us for the dip in the road that God can see and we cannot.
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain, there will always be sunshine, after the rain....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall;
But God's always ready, to answer your call....
He knows every heartache, sees every tear, a word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may , throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, by dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above, to give you His grace, and send you His love.
May God fill your day with blessings!!
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of
battle!

This is something I recieved today.

This is for the people that don't live in the USA. The web page that is below. Just click on it and then vote and hit results. After that you will see how the world is voting. It really is a eye opener. The world is looking for someone new and that would be a scary things if they could vote.
Now ALL of you out there look and see what could happen. Make sure you are going to vote on Nov. 4, 2008. I have already asked for a ballot to be sent to me here in the Bahamas. If I don't receive it I saw last night that I could go to the USA Embassy and they post my vote for me. So PLEASE make sure you ALL vote this Nov. It could be a bad thing if you don't. The web page is this http://www.iftheworldcouldvote.com/

This is for fun.

Good morning from Inagua!!!!

What an incredible weekend!!!!!!!!!!
Looking back on the trip, it is amazing to me that we have almost completed 6 roofs. This is indeed a miracle, as none of us are roofers by trade. We also had the opportunity to do a neighborhood sweep/clean up. That also opened doors to share the gospel with people who were curious about the Americans picking up trash on their streets. God's favor has been upon us despite the heat and our inexperience. One of the families went all out to bless us as we worked on their home. From cakes to curry chicken to pleasant conversation, we have been lovingly "adopted in" to different families on the island.
Yesterday certainly was a day of needed rest and re-fueling... In the morning, we split up to attend two churches. I visited Zion Baptist, which is the church that is allowing us to sleep in their large fellowship hall. Reverend Bain exhorted the congregation to continue to celebrate, despite their situation because God is worthy of our praise all the time and has indeed spared the people from a lot over the past couple of weeks. Another group headed to the Methodist church, where many of the locals we have met attend. In the afternoon we were invited to a BBQ with John Nixon's family (he's here assisting with the government's disaster relief organization, called NEMA). He's from Inagua and his whole family came out to serve us with food and FUN. I believe some of the guys speared fish, while others played volley ball with the children or just enjoyed great company and the aqua waters of the Caribbean.
This morning, the door opened for us to go back into the schools to present a high school assembly on ual abstinence. The message of purity and God's heart for relationship through the book of Song of Solomon was very well received by the students and teachers alike. We are also back on the roofs beginning the 7th and 8th homes, and we are eager, Lord willing, to accomplish the goal of 10 before Friday. Please continue to pray for protection, favor, and a move of God's spirit among the people here. Some are still in "shell shock" and others are just trying to make it a day at a time, rebuilding their lives. Thank you for co-laboring with us!

These are guys from calvary Bible

Praise Him in the morning, afternoon and night..

I just want to say thank you to all of my friends and family. For your prayers and support (money) that you have given. I have a special place in my heart for the guys here, in the Bahamas. My brothers in Christ. I was told a little while back that the Men's group at Calvary Bible was going to see if they could help me out. Then I was told that they had some money for me. At the time I was told they have raised up $130.00. So Saturday morning we meet at 6:30 am. Well I was about to leave and Erold came up to me and handed me the money. I thanked him and left for home. Well when I got home I looked and there was $200.00. You guys really do know how to make a man feel love. Thank you very much.
This verse the Lord, I believe gave me a while back. Proverbs 30:8to 9 New Living Translation.
First help me never to lie. Second, give me just enough to satisfy my needs. (9) For if I grow rich. i may deny you and say. Who is the Lord? And if I am too poor, I may steal and thus insult God's holy Name.
So I know folks I am here for this time and that is all I can do and say. Thank you again and I will give a up date a the end of the month on my funds.

This is our group of single's

Yes, us singles are meeting again.

Last night was our kick off for this season. It sure was good to see my brothers out too. Sometimes I am the only guy and boy that could be fun, but. Well last night we got together and had some good food and fellowship. Veda played a CD and stopped it, meanwhile we where passing a little plastic pencil sharpener around. If the music stopped you that had the sharpener you had to say a verse out of the Bible. Boy my mind went after the first time around. I could think of anything. So my friend Ambros said John 3:16. So I made it. Okay after that we listen to Dr Miles Monroe about singles. It was pretty good and then we talked about what he was saying. Boy we got into some good questions and even better answers.
I think our next time together we will be going out some place and having fellowship. So please if you are staying home on a Saturday night and not sure what to do. Please come and join us. Or if we are not meeting, e mail one of us and maybe we can do something too. Hey it sure is good to see my fellow friends and I do look forward in doing it again. Just enjoy live, it is doing by fast and why not have some funnnnnnnnn. If you have any questions, please e mail me or you can call me too. Toms@alcbahamas.org 431-5751 this is my cell number.

Hello from Inagua!

We obviously arrived safe and sound! We met our first miracle at the airport. When we realized how "overweight" our luggage was, Pastor Chet called the team to pray. Shortly thereafter, BahamasAir waved ALL of our "excess" baggage fees for the sake of the cause in Inagua. Every piece of luggage that we sent ahead and brought with us was here when we arrived. God is so GOOD!
We were surprised in seeing the extent of devastation on the island, and also thankful to arrive to comfortable accommodations. The people are very grateful for our presence and surprised that we would be willing to "volunteer" expecting nothing in return, just to assist them in a time of need. This has opened many doors already to share the love of Christ.
So far, we have been able to complete almost 3 roofs that were torn up by hurricane Ike... The first one is the roof of the church we are sleeping in together. The second is that of a handicapped family. And the third belongs to an elderly couple. Our goal is to complete 10 roofs by next Friday, (Oct.3rd) when we head back to Nassau.
The students are very excited about this opportunity and are continuing to live "flexible" as they wake up each morning ready for whatever challenges may come. The sun has never felt hotter (Inagua is located right on the equator), mosquitos have never seemed so large and "hose showers" have never been so appealing as in these last two days. Everyone is giving 100% to the tasks at hand, and we're thankful for overall health and protection.
Please continue to pray for us... That we would have a mind to work, heart to serve and that God would be glorified in and through us among the people here. To HIM be all the glory!
Rejoicing in Him,
Meredith Cravens

This is the school I am talking about below.

Nickaus and Celavey

Things are heating up around here.

I have a couple of stories to share with you. Yesterday afternoon, I was taking our two guys, Nickles and Celavey, they do the grounds at ALC. Well on the way there, we go thought a school zone. This school as just open for this year. These are Jr High kids. Well there is no signs saying 15 mph. But we all know when going through a zone, we need to slow down. I was going around 15 to 20 mph. I looked in my mirror and I see this guy coming barreling pretty fast. This is a two lane road. He was about to pass me and I pulled over in his lane, boy did I get him mad. My back window was open and I shouted at him, SCHOOL ZONE!!!! He open his door and told me to get out of his way. He passed me and stopped in the middle of the road. Got out of his truck, walk over to me and told me not to ever do that to him again. I shouted back at him and told him 15 mph zone. Mean while he had some chose words for me and I saw my old self surface. I said a chose word to him and told him to just go. Mean while the traffic behind was getting up set too. He got in his truck and drove off with his tires a blazing. I started to drive again, but inside I was so up set. I just kept saying to myself and the guys in my truck what is wrong with him. Then I realize I have some junk in heart I need to get rit of. I could not believe that word came out of my mouth? I know He is doing the work in me, but I always think it is about or other things. I saw myself blow up and I didn't like that at all.
I got back to the centre and saw Adam and told him about it. Then he told me about what he has been dealing with. I will tell that story next time. Please pray for us so we can handle convict better. I saw a guy last night. Beating a other guy with a hose. Reason the guy beating him, kept asking WHERE IS THE WIRE? The other didn't say anything, he just stood there and took it. I looked over and didn't know what to do. Which I walked back and asked God why???? Folks our time here is getting shorter each day. There is so much angry in the guy on this island. I know it will not get any better. Please Lord just take us up!!!!!

This is the only shot I have of all Patmos team.

Update on Patmos

I would like to share about what Pastor Chet and Patmos are doing this week. They all flew out Tuesday morning, for Inagua. This is one of the islands that got hit hard, with Ike. I have been seen and heard of, 80% of the roofs are gone. Plus Morton Salt is the main job plus Electric and water supplier. Their buildings are gone now.
So Pastor Chet and crew are over there repairing roofs and doing what ever is needed to help these people out. I did hear that 80% of the electric is back on line. So I just want you all to know that Patmos is doing things that even Bahamians are not. I have not heard of any other group going over there to help. Like the collage, high schools. Now please I am not sure if they are helping or not. I have only heard of the Red Cross and Defence Force going over to help with supplies. So I am asking for prayer for all that are over there helping these people out. Our crew will be back on Oct 3th. I know I will hear God stories and how He just showed up.
The reason I am writing this is, sometimes I am not sure why Patmos does the things Pastor Chet wants. BUT this time my hat goes off to him and all that are over there. That is a true Bahamian. Or like we would say in the states, a true American.

Hello from the Islands.

I just want to say thank you to all of you out there that were willing enough to let me come into your homes and share. It sure was a nice time and I hope I did just to our Lord for sharing what He has put on my heart. Folks I know by looking at the blog below it doesn't sound to good for my time here, but we will all see what He has planned out in the future. I have had some people e mail me back telling me that they will help out. So as I write this, I know He is doing some work in each and everyone of us each day. So as I close here I pray that He has been speaking to you and you are listening to what He has told you. I am not just talking about money, NO really, my prayer is He is showing something else in your life that He has been trying to show you before. I know He has showed me so much since this trip and I know I have things that need to get right with Him. So if you think of me, say a prayer to work in my heart. I love you all and I do look forward in hearing from you soon. My address is

As I look back now, I have raised $520.00. Plus someone wrote to me and said they would help out too. Folks if you have heard my story and seen my pictures. Well I know $520.00 sounds like a lot of money. BUT that didn't even pay for my trip here. I look back and all the trips I have ever made coming over here. NON have ever been paid for.

She is a LIVE. This is my new/ old bike.

That is right, today is Sundayy 22nd.

Yes Sunday has come and that means one more full day here. I just want to say thank you to all of you. I have been to four Bible studies and I had a chance to talk in front of 8th graders too. Ana has explained all the different thing that are avable for us missionaries that are supported by Calvary Chapel, Ft. Laud. Folks I am so happy to see how Calvary does back us and help us in any way they can. I had a nice talk with Ana Steele on Wednesday morning. She is the one that is over seeing this ministry now and she explained all the things that Calvary has for our use. I really am looking forward in talking more with her and the team. Next time I will do a better job asking for things and getting a table and just hooking up with the CCA children. So like I was saying before, this trip has pretty much worn me out and I will need a vacation when I get back to Nassau.
I will keep you all inform on the funds that He has given me and how there was so many people that ask how they could help.
As of today my Lord has given me $480.00. I really do want to say thank you to all of you that has helped me. But I know there are more people out there that would like to help too. If you believe He has told you to help me. It really is a easy thing to do. PLEASE pray FIRST. NEED.
Write your check out to Adventure Learning Centre. Fill in the amount. Then if you could PLEASE take a post note or a piece of paper. Write on that my name. Tom Schafer. PLEASE don't write in the memo area my name. I don't know why, but I have been told, this is how to send money to me. Then please put in a tithe envelope and drop it in Calvary Chapel' s tithe box. You will be able to have a tax write off and I will receive the money.
I really do love ALC and I believe He wants me there too. Thank you for every thing and like I said I will keep you all in the loop.

Folks my time is winding down.

Yes I have been here for one week and boy it sure has been a lot of traveling. I have now Jon Bunch's truck and I have filled it up two times. That means I have put some miles on it. Well so far I have had the chance to go to four home Bible Studies. Last night was my last one. I was over whelm, This group has more than 60 people in it. That to me is a church and I had the chance to share with them. I look back and I see God working in these home groups. Just being there for that short time and even hearing their stories too. Like I said last night was mission night and there was about eight people or even more, that shared what God has done in their lives during their own mission trips. I just look on and listen to all they had to say. I just was in all and so grateful to be able to share too. After the time I had more than 10 people come up to me and ask for my card and they told me that they would keep me in prayer and in touch too. So I say THANK YOU TO ALL. You guys all open up your homes and studies to me. I was very pleased in all you let me do and your time too. I am looking forward in hearing form many and seeing what He has planned out too.

It is Tuesday morning.

I just want to let my friends and family know. I have been trying find loop holes and any thing to get from having to paying my taxes. I have talked with some of my friends since I have been here. Just not wanting to believe I owe IRS money. If you don't know what I am talking about. Well back in May of this last year I ask a friend to do my taxes and she did. She mailed them to me in Nassau. I got the papers and just could not or didn't want to believe I owe IRS $1600.00.During that year I made $9800.00. So while here I have asked for advise on this. I had a friend named Tom, he told me that this sound like Social Security. Then yesterday I called someone else Robert and he gave me someone else number to me. I called him. I had the papers in front of me and he asked questions and I answered them. YES he said this is for Social Security and there is NO way out of it. So as I sit here thinking and wondering what should I do? The answer is easy, but I look at my funds and say how? So before I leave this coming weekend. I will stop by and pay them.
I want to say to Becky, thank you for doing them and I am sorry for questioning your work.

Recived a gift from Coral Springs' Finist

We have made it through another week-end

Yes this last week-end was a blur for me. But sitting here I did remember most of what I did. Saturday I sat at the motor vehicle department. That was for the plate I need for the bike. From there I went over and tried to get it running. Guess what NO. form there I helped out Jon with Parking things. Then we have service, Pastor Fidela taught and he hit me right in the middle my forehead. Good message. After couple of of people and I went over to Olive Garden, that was really nice. Just sitting around and talking. I enjoy that company. Good food too.
Sunday at Calvary helping out a little with parking. Then went over and worked on that bike again. It runs BUT will not start on it own. You need to use starting fluid to get it going. It is in the carbs. Then last night I went out with a friend named Rose. We went to a movie, Family that Preys. Tyler Pride. ?????? It really was a great movie. If you want a clean and moving movie. Check it out. Family That Preys Together.
Today I have breakfast and lunch with a some old friends. Tonight I go to Home Bible group, to share what God is doing in my life.

Sunday, September 14, 2008

This is the group I will be telling you about.

Just a note,

I am here in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. I am here for really only one reason. That is to hear from our Lord. I have told you guys before about my funds. Well the rubber is going to hit the road this next week. I have set up times to share at different home Bible studies in Ft. Laud. My first study was Friday night. I was in the metes of six beautiful women, plus one guy. It really was a nice time. The host Ana was very much a host. She made up water melon, cantaloupe and even some good coffee. So this was just one of the four that I have planned to share at. NOW I am asking HIM for the way and means of what He wants. So if you think of me, please say a small prayer, NO a BIG one.
Last night Pastor Fidela did a message that was so much on the mark, for what is going on in my life. He talked about that sin that I have been dealing with and why God has not giving me what I want. Now I have to deal with it and maybe He will still bless me????

This is what Bahamas wants

Today was 9/11?

I was sitting down watching the TV. it had a shot of World Trade Building. All it said was REMEMBER 9/11.
What really stuck me that is has been 7 year since that had happen. I can remember pretty much that whole day.
Please do remember.
USA people were talking today and saying it could not not happen again.???? I am not sure what world they were from, but I do believe it could happen again.
Please remember we do have a election coming up in Nov. That means the man in charge is going to be the one calling the shots, if it happens again. Look at their track records and see who would be the best.
I can tell you this Bahamas WANTS Obama.

Today was 9/11?

Hey I found that picture, RECYCLE BIN.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Okay now my camera did not work.

I am sorry the picture I took I thought was a good one. I moved it to my Desk top and deleted the file. So now I go to Desk Top, no file.
Okay the ears were about 3 to 4 ins long and 3/4 to 1" in diam. So I got riped off. She did give me 8 ears. But like I said below no taste or nothing. I could have taken the $3.00 and bought a nice Star Bucks. There is one right in the mall. Okay I have learned another lesson. MAYBE.

Hey I am hailing you?

This last Saturday I was a the mall here to get a wedding present for Eldroa wedding. Which you can see below. Okay I am walking along and I saw this Ford Explorer sitting in the middle of the parking lot. I ask the woman if she needed any help. She no, but would you like to get some fresh corn. I looked at one ear she had sticking up in the bucket. Boy it sure looked good. So I ask her how much? She replied 6 for $3.00 dollars. Man that sounded great. The reason it sounded so great was I was at the store the day before and 3 ears were going for $4.00. So thinking this is a great buy. I walked away not looking inside of the bag. I got home and put them in the refg. Tonight I pulled them out to clean and have a feast. Look at the picture above. Joke on me. They were soooooooo small and boy I cooked them for 8 minutes like I use to up north. They were tough and nails and not favor at all. Okay so the next time you see someone selling something in a mall parking lot. BE CAREFUL.

This is a old picture, but still a great morning.

Good day all,

I just want to say thank you to all of you out there that have been praying for us here in Bahamas. Yes folks by His grace we have been saved AGAIN. There was still a couple of the islands here that did get hit hard. Inagua, which is 596 sq miles. If you look at a map of our islands here, Bahamas, you can see that Inagua is pretty large, compear to us. We here from New Providence. Our island is only 147 sq miles. Plus this is the island which most of all the people live on. The Bahamas have around 260,000 people. Here on our little island has almost 250,00 of the people. So I am not sure if God is trying to get our attention by letting the only islands get hit hard. Or we are more righteous???? No I do believe His grace is on us, ONLY because if that storm hit here MANY people lives would have been destroyed. So I do believe He is trying to show what could happen. Getting back to Inagua, Morton Salt is the one that really has built up that island and it is the main income. The Morton Salt company is the one that runs the Electric. They just came off of a strike last week. Now think of this, Morton Salt has pretty much been totally wiped out, from the storm. You are talking millions of dollars to rebuild. Would you rebuild again?
Please lift up all of the places that have been damaged by Ike. If you want to learn more, stuff like this is not on USA TV. You need to go on line to see all that is going on.
I do thank my Lord for His grace.
Hey everyone in Fort Lauderdale, I will be in town during Sept. 12 to the 22. If you want to hook up and have lunch or something. Please e mail me at toms@alcbahamas.org
I have had some contacts and I do look forward in seeing you all.

Wet Pants

Come with me to a third grade classroom..... There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet. He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the s find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.
The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, 'Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm meat.'
He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.
As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.
The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, 'Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!'
Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out. All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie.
She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. You've done enough, you klutz!'
Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, 'You did that on purpose, didn't you?' Susie whispers back, 'I wet my pants once too.'
May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good..

A update on Ike.

I have found another site on the web. This site is really neat, it is called Storm pulse. The web page is below here. This site goes beyond the Novaa one. Get a chance check it out. Hurricane Ike is still pushing south/west. Like I said this morning good for us, not to good for Cuba. There are other islands too that will be part of this storm. Please pray for these people and let our Lord's grace fall apond them. Enjoy the site.
http://www.stormpulse.com/hurricane-ike-2008
Okay about church today, Pastor Lee was telling of all the ministries that Calvary Bible has. I am not sure if you have heard of this. 20% of the church does most of the work. 80% sit in pews and get fat. Hey by looking around today during this time. I would say 80% of our people are doing the work while only 20% are pew sitters. I had a chance to share about our Singles' Ministry. It sure was nice to be able to share and just let people know, this is not a mate making ministry. I really hope we get more people to come out. If you want to find out more, just ask me. We meet on every last Saturday night. e mail me or call me at 1-242-431-5751

These are friends or even family of mine

Hello and Hello again.

Yes, yes our Lord is good. If you have been watching the weather, Hurricane Ike is on his way south. I am sorry for the people of Cuba. So as it stands now, we are out of the woods on two main troubles that have been threatening us, here in the Bahamas. Thank you Jesus for spearing us. I know we don't deserve it. So yesterday Pastor Chet told the students, they didn't need to go to Ft. Laud. after all. There is one student that thought she needed to go back and stay. So we did lose one. So right now we have 9 guys and 7 s. Plus the interns, staff. There is another sad note, two of our staff are leaving too. They have made the chose to go back to their home in the states. That would be Jen Allen, which has been here for over 4 years. She will be going back to upper New York State. Then Jen Repacie (spelling) she came through Patmos #1 and then came back to run the ALC Camp. She was here for a while, but now she believes she needs to go to school up in Orlando, Fl. area. She has hooked up with a great church up there. So we are going to miss both of them.
Okay about yesterday log in, I am sorry for sounding so rough about the Book of Ezekiel. My thought was if that would be my last log in. You would know where I stand. Please folks this really is close to the end of this time on this earth. I don't want to sound to down about it, because if we are out of here, that means we are with Jesus Christ.
Enjoy your day. May this be a New Beginning for you, in Christ.

Hey double click and you can figure out what islands are going to be hit, by Ike.

It is I again,

Hey in these last couple of weeks, I have been reading through the Book of Ezekiel. I am not if you all know who is was? He was a prophet during the time of 595 BC. During this time God spoke to him pretty much everyday, it looks that way. The sad part is, God kept telling him to tell the people of Jerusalem to repent and turn away from sin. Ezekiel kept trying to let all the people realize, God was not a fool. He has seen all that they have been doing and He warn them over and over again. I am only in Chapter # 21 now. But God is speaking and just telling them REPENT. I will HELP Babylon take over Jerusalem. (Amercia, Bahamas)Which if you read the rest of this Book you will see, God was not PLAYING. He meant every Word He spoke. Folks I am not sure why I would be reading this Book during this time. BUT Please take heed, LISTEN to Him. Please turn from sin and realize we are only on this earth for a VERY short time. Folks i have failed in many ways of my life. I am still doing wrong things which is called sin. I am not going to tell you what they are, BUT I am still a man and I need this Bible more in my life NOW than ever before. Please take the time and read Ezekiel. This Book of talking of end times, that would be Chapters 38 to 39. During this time we as Christians SHOULD be out of here, RAPTURE. BUT my brothers and sisters, Please don't wait, read and realize HE is speaking to you today. His WORDS have ever failed to come true. Please I know bye this time most have turn from this site. But the ones that are still reading PLEASE trust HIM TODAY!!!!

Before Ike cometh Sepr 5, 2008

Hello my friends and family,

Today is Saturday Sept.6, 2008. The way the storm is going, by God's grace. We are in better shape that we thought yesterday. But today pretty much all the Patmos students and interns are going back to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. That is the best for them. First of all theses are still kids and they need to be with their families. This storm is going to be going toward them too. But ad least their families can make their own calls on where to go for safety. There are about some staying back, like Pastor Chet and family, Adam and Cody, Jenn Mingo and Mark and Kim. Pretty much all rest are going over there. There will be one more flight out on Sunday morning if any one chances their mind and want to get out of here. I myself will be staying after. My reason is I can be used here after what happens, much better than being in Ft Lauderdale. My mom's house will be taken care of by my friend Jon. So really I don't have much to do there. By looking at the pictures above you can see how we have done as much as we can to be ready. Today I have three more things to try to take care of. One finish putting up two boards on the north side of the Barn. taking down the air cond. that is on the roof. Then I need to go get some feed for the next three weeks. We have enough to last now for week and a half. But if the storm does damage on the roads and flooding happens, if might not happen. So I will take one of the buses down toady and get 10 bails of hay and 10 bags of cubes. These are the main foods for pretty much all the bigger animals. I will keep you guys posted on other things that are going on. But now I need to get cleaned up and start going. Please keep this island in your prayers.

Hurricane IKE

Hurricane IKE Folks please double click and you will see the track of Ike.

Hello all,

Yes we have made it through another storm. Hanna was just like a rain shower. Last night we lost power for 1 hour. Nothing was damaged, that I have seen. I just want to say thank you all for your prayers and encouraging words. Now if you look, there is a hurricane named Ike. He has move towards the south now. That is what I see by the tracking charts. Plus he is now a Cat 3. I will be listening to the report today to see what the news people have to say about it.
I am still on planing to be in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. next week. That will be Friday Sept. 12 to the 22. My main reason for going over there is to raise funds so I can stay here. If there is anyone out there that would like to find out more about what I do here, PLEASE E MAIL ME. Folks I really do enjoy living here and doing all I do at the Adventure Learning Centre. If God has tugged at your heart and you want to help out. Just let me know and I would love to share with you, all that is going on here. Everyone out there, this next trip might be my last one ditch effort. The way it stands about my funds. I don't have any more to stay. This trip is for God to tell me yes or no. I will be going to some home Bible Studies during my time there. During this time I will share all that has happen and all that is going to happen here. I am asking for these group to come together and give up two coffees from Starbucks. That is right I am looking for $10.00 each person, each month for support. That way if there is ten (10) people. I will receive $100.00 a month for support. Folks if you don't know this the idea of a missionary to to depend on others to help you out. I can NOT make a pay check here. I am a foreign of this land. I have a NON work permit. That way I can stay here and help out only. I am really asking for some help.
Folks if you really remember me, I have always work for a living and this is hard for me to say. When you get older you don't want to depend on anyone. You have lived your life your way and that pretty much is it. So to ask for help, I don't like doing.
I would love to hear from you and let us see what He is going to do now.

Hey I found out how to send a picture of IKE

If you could just double click on the words Hurricane Ike and you can see what I am looking at on the hurricane network. This is really neat to be able to do this.
Now this is the storm I believe will in pack us. By just looking the track for the three days. It is moving fast and it has a big punch of wind coming with it. Just look the speed is up to 115 mph. That is a Cat 3 and it can grow even more.
About Hanna, we have gotten our place pretty much ready. Today we got all the shutters pulled and ready to put up. Have been trimming most of the trees. Picking things up too. Hey it is like spring cleaning around here. The Patmos crew and students have been a big help. So now all we can do is wait it out and see if she wants to stop by and say hello. I just hope her stay is quite and I hope she has a fast time and visit.
Tomorrow we are going over to The All Saints Aids Camp to help pick up things and just make is be a little more safe there. Pastor Chet came back this afternoon and ask for our help over there. So we will see what happens in the morning and go with the flow. Please do keep the other islands in prayer. They are still getting hit and I am not sure what kind of damage has happen.
Just a note our little island is located at 25 North and 77 West. these are the readings on the side of the maps. So now we all know how to read a map. Hey love you guys and I hope you enjoy these blogs as much as I love sharing them. Bye Bye. Tom.

These are pictures during a raining day here.

Hello all my friends out there.

If you have not seen the weather report lately? We have a hurricane coming to visit us here in the Bahamas. Her name is Hannah, and right now she is packing winds of 75 to 85 mph. They have told us that she might stall out over us for a day or so. That is where the trouble will come. Our island floods so easy now. Just with raining only, you can get flooded out of your home. The pictures from last year, I cleaned out my files. I have some showing the flooding of streets here.Well today we started getting things picked up and nailed down. Tomorrow there will be a lot more to do. We just started a small part today. We were told yesterday it is only going to be a tropical storm and it should not head our way. BUT now she want to come and stay for a day or so. I really hope we have cleaned up our place, so she will be impress and not want to stay for any time. You know like a family member coming to visit, you are looking forward to it and then in three days you really wish they would leave. Please if anyone of my family reads this, that doesn't mean YOU.
All we can do now is ask for prayer for this place and everyone here. Most people are not to concern. I did go shopping yesterday and spent $98.37. On things like can goods and things that we can eat at anytime.

On Saturday we flew back home. Sept. 5thn 2026

Okay I got up early and took a drive. I went to Dunkin Donuts for 6 donuts and a couple of coffees. Oh, I got a couple of items for Billy. B...
