That is RIGHT 40 Years ago Bahamas was born as a nation. Really is July 10th birthday party

40th ANNIVERSARY
OF
BAHAMAS NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE
2013
On Sunday, June 30, 2013, 6:00 p.m. at Rawson Square – in the heart of the city of Nassau, Bahamas -  hundreds of Bahamians will gather to honour the 40th Anniversary of their nation’s Independence in a special Christian rally.
The main focus will be Family Life. In a pre-independence paper presented by the Bahamas Christian Council to the Government on April 10, 1972, this very pointed statement was made:

No nation is stronger than the family life of its people. If this breaks down, society breaks down with it. The family is the natural human unit -- not the individual -- and only within the family do men and women find their natural environment. No Government concerned for the well-being of its people, can afford not to nurture family life.
The opponents of the home and marriage, the institutions necessary for nurturing Christian family life, are to be regarded as enemies.

And since one of the very distinguishing features of the Bahamas, is its declared intention to remain and continue to be a people who would nurture“an abiding respect for Christian values”, we will call upon the nation to pursue those values vigorously.
One highlight of the evening will give special public recognition to all couples, who were married during the year of Independence 1973.
Also our traditional annual honouring of all couples whose marriages have reached or exceeded 50 years – will take place.
All of this will happen in a Renewal of Vows ceremony – with musicand message appropriate to the occasion.
Grace Community Church, is the main sponsor, with the Bahamas Christian Council and Rex Major & Associates being co-sponsors.
The message will be given by Rex Major. Senior Pastor Lyall Bethel represents Grace Community Church, while Dr. Patrick Paul of the Family Life Commission of the Bahamas Christian Council, represents the Council; Andy Knowles and Leroy “Tinkle” Hanna represent Rex Major & Associates on the Central Planning Committee.
Please pray for the following specifically:
            1.         For Good Weather (It is hurricane season).
            2.         For Public Relation success.
            3.         The Donations to come in.
            4.         That a humble, prayerful spirit, will come upon the Bahamas.
            5.         For God’s fresh and powerful anointing on Rex Major as he                                                                          prepares and presents the message.
            6.         That hundreds will attend.
            7.         For many willing helpers to get all the many tasks performed well.

Please, let us hear from you.
