This young lady has been trying to get off this island.
That right, about a month ago. Debra flew into Nassau, Bahamas. The reason was her visa she had from her own country has expired. So she flew here to get it up dated. She is from Ghana, which is in Africa. She has been a student in the states for many years. I guess the time there went by and no one question her status. So she did her schooling and then found out that her visa has pass do. She was told by friends and maybe even someone in the government to fly over here. Go to the American Embassy, ask for a new visa and she would be straight.
Well she did fly over here and went to the American Embassy and they denied her. So mean while she has been asking and asking more people for help. Even she asked her own country for help, it just seemed like she was with out a country now. She stayed here at the ALC Camp during that time. She helped out Tim and Mindy that over see our camp now. So she was very much used here and a big help too. She even was at our devotions each morning at the centre. I know she has made many friends here and she said she would like to come back one day. Tim dropped her off at the airport yesterday morning and she was on her way to Cuba. From there she was going to try to get a visa for Netherlands. From there prayerfully will be able to fly home back in Ghana. Have not heard from her as of today, that is good thing. The reason I say all this is. We have dropped her off at the airport here two times before. Got a phone each time saying she was not aloud to get on a USA plane at all. So please say a prayer or two for her. She really has gone through a lot during this time. I know one thing, our Lord has been been part this since it has started. She has always had a smile on her face too. That is only from Him above that could give that to her. I know some days she cried and even went to bed crying, but He was always there. Just think, you fly to a different country thinking all will be right. Then to find, NO YOU ARE DENIED. What do you do next? So prayer was the answer for her and she was doing it all. That should be our answer each day we are still on this earth. Like I said, every time I saw her, she had a big smile on her face. That you know is the peace that He can only give us.
