Going along US 1 south and just got pass Commercial and I could feel my rear tire going flat. Yes got a flat. Why is it always the rear tire? I get grease all over myself every time.
This is what cause it, a staple. That right this real small staple was my problem.
See inside that very small medal piece, on top?
Pulled it out and there you go. Okay so I took the wheel off an got the tube out and put a new one back together again. I had some trouble getting the tire back on the rim. The last time it was a little easier. But got it together and it would not blow up. I kept trying, thinking maybe I have the pump hooked up wrong. I tried different things, But the tire would not blow up at all. I even tried the old tube too. The pump seems to be working okay. But the tire stayed flat. Nothing at all. Okay what do I do next? Go to GPS and found a Mobil Gas station down about 1/4 mile. Thinking, okay maybe the pump is not working. I will go spend $1.00 on air. I started walking and said, why not check and see if a bike shop is close? I did and found one a little more the other way. Okay if I pinched the tube, I will need a new one any way. Bike shop it is.
Got there and Jennifer pumped up the tire, Nothing is holding? I guess I pinched the tube. I asked about the tire itself, I know I have many miles on it. She said, yes, you want to buy new one? I said okay. Then she was telling me about the liner on the inside of the tire are ripped. Go ahead and replace it. Then she asked if I want to put a liner between the tube and the tire? Okay . Now I am thinking, this way my chances of getting another flat for a while have just improved.
After spending this much. I am really thinking no more flats for another year?????
I did go to Walmart and bought another tube. You never know what you can pick up?
