This is from a friend back in the Bahamas.

“May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones” (1 Thessalonians 3:12-13).

Paul prayed for strong hearts for the Thessalonian believers— hearts that flowed with love. He specifically asked Jesus Christ to increase the believers’ love for each other. That increase of love would bring a great will to live lives pleasing to God. Sometimes we get frustrated with fellow believers when they do not live up to our spiritual expectations. We also get frustrated with ourselves and our failings. Maybe we just need stronger hearts. Maybe if we started praying for more love— for an overflow of love—the rest would take care of itself.

Father, I pray that ____________________ would overflow with Your love. Pour out the love of Jesus on him (or her). Please let him sense Your love for him. Then cause that knowledge of Your love to grow love within ____________________. May love for others ooze out of him. Father God, strengthen ____________________’s heart so that he can overcome the evil one and live a pure and blameless life before You. May ____________________ be a model follower of Yours so others can emulate his life. Amen.

Thank you Betty for your time to send this out.
