I brought the four tables. (3 6 foot and 1 4 foot) Then I brought out the tent, it's 20 feet long and 10 feet wide. It's tall enough that everyone needs to walk under it, works great.
I got most of the things set up. You see boards on the tables. That is for the butane burners.
Got the tent put together. Now I need five students to help lift it up and put the support poles in place.
They came out and helped raise the tent up. Looks like everything is in order. We will have four students do the cooking of the chicken egg rolls. You can see the four pails of water. Sometimes the wind comes along and lifts the tent up. Don't want any mishaps. The1st table to the left is where the students hand out the food. The middle table is for severing the egg rolls into paper boats.
Other students are setting up too. Right next to us is Mr. Macintosh. Thye will be selling Little Caesars Pizza.
My wife, Chef Gray, was rounding everyone up to tell them who is doing what? We have four stations. the one far left, four cooks, two servers, front table giving the boats to the students. Then on the right hand, there will be two students serving the toppings. I will be the cashier. We are selling chicken egg rolls, $2.00 each. They hand me $2.00 bucks I give them a ticket and the folks handing out the food, collects the ticket. This way we are accountable.
Well at the end of lunch period. We needed to clean up and get everything back into the classroom. We broke everything done and all went well.
After school closed, we did our accounting on what we sold and made. We sold 324 egg rolls and made $648.00. We did okay. Chef Gray had the students make up over 600 chicken egg rolls. We talked about why we didn't see that many. The students had many more place to send their money on. They had Chic-fil-A, Zaxby's and Little Caesars Pizza. So not that big a deal. Maybe next time we will try something new?
Overall, I am so happy that we got as much as we did. There were many more foods that the students had a chance to buy.
Well, folks this last week I have been under the weather. You know, cold. blowing my nose and coughing and whatever else happens. Today I am feeling a lot better, now I am just tired. Prayerfully by tomorrow I will be 100%. My wife is feeding the School District Board at Westwood. They are planning on 20 plus folks there. She has been making things up already for Friday. But we will still need to set up the room and make the eggs and whatever else my baby plans. So, if you think of us, please say a prayer or two. For us to make is happen.
Thank you in advance.
