I took the bed liner out. The reason is as I was drilling holes to find the hooks, I dropped the drill bit behind the liner. Thinking why not just take it out and see how it looks under the liner?
I was very blessed to say no rust and it still looked fairly in good shape.
The reason for all of this work. I took the eye bolts off the top of the bed liner. There was six of them. That is what I have been using to tie things down. Which it worked great. But as I am not using the back of my truck that much, like I did while working at Calvary Fort Lauderdale. As I loaded up tables and chairs and what ever else was needed to move from A to B. It really did the job well.
Roy came over while I was trying to get the chains on the hooks. It was not as easy as I thought it would be. I really had to spread the hooks a little more to get them to go over the other hooks. But after playing around for a little while Roy gave me a idea. Why not just put the hooks on with out the chains. Then put the chains on? It worked so much better. The chains were getting in the way, trying to hit the hook with a hammer. All is well now.
You can see I screwed the bed liner in on the sides and front. Plus four screws holding the lip down too.
Now all I have to do is order the round out tarp. I will order it next week. The reason is there is no hurry. Plus I will be driving south on Thursday and will be moving some furniture that day for Jon.
