I have the opportunity to help out at the FFA booth, food building. Opening night Feb. 25th 2022

Okay my day was doing well. Roy and I finished up the hurricane shutters. So I left him off and I started doing Door Dash. I made one delivery, then I got a call from Jeanne. She was asking me if I canceled, helping out at the food building? I told her, I did. I e mail the over seer. Well she, Jeanne told me that the woman over seer, dropped of a ticket for me to get in. So I guess she didn't get my e mail. Okay back up a little. The week before Jeanne got a e mail, asking if we could help out this year at the FFA Booth? Jeanne signed up and then realized she had a doctor's appointment the day needed help.
So Jeanne cancelled her time to serve. She told me to do the same. I thought, e mailing would do the trick? I guess WRONG. No problem, I think on Door Dash I made $11.25. pay for my gas to get out at the Country Fair Grounds. That is the St. Lucie Fair Grounds.
Yes it is our fair for the year, we have been helping out there for the last three or four years. It really is some fun and a great time to hang out with the students that are there. Plus walk around and just enjoy the sites.
Okay driving out there is a little while. But when you see the Bridge That Goes No Where, next left.
I really not sure WHY they have this bridge? Maybe they thought down the road they will need to expand the parking lot???
Jeanne told me this has been like this for many years. Just look and you can see,
IT GOES NO WHERE.

This is the back entrance (for staff and who ever volunteers) I drove in and there was no one at the gate. So I still have a ticket to get in.

This is just one of the schedules for the events that are going on.

When I got here, everything was pretty much set up and ready to go. But we need to wait on the Country Inspector to check out the inside before we open the windows.
Well this was my station. Tea (Sweet/Unsweet) and Lemon Aid. There were three ladies working this station with me.
After we opens up, it got very busy, you know Feast Or Famine. I filled the cups with ice. The two younger girls, filled the cups up with the drink of choice. The other woman took the porker chip from the customer, to pay for it. On the other side it where Miss Miller took the money in to pay for everything we sold there.

We have hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, chicken tenders, roast beef, I think there was more. But I didn't go over that way. It really was fun time helping out. I got there at 3p and worked until 7pm. I know the guys behind the grill were hot and tried. Over all I did have some fun.
Well my shift was over, time to get something to eat?

Jeanne and I really enjoy these hot dogs. So I sat down the relaxed a little and enjoyed my dinner.
Ok time to walk around and see what is going on.

I saw this trailer, Jo Jo's This is a place for wings. Jeanne and I go to their place of business, in Fort Pierce every once and while. They do have some great tasting wings. I have picked up many orders there for Door Dash too and saw this trailer there in the parking lot. Thinking, where are they going to us this trailer? NOW I KNOW. I walked up and talked with one of the folks inside, telling them how nice it looks and asked how is it going? She told me busy. That is some great news.

I only walked around the food court area. I need to find my baby a Funnel Cake.

I found the older couples trailer, this is where we usually go to. They are very friendly and their cakes are great.

The sad part is, you need to eat them right after you get them. I bought two, one for my baby and myself. Well I got home and we split one and I put the other one in the microwave. To eat later on. I pulled it out this morning and it really doesn't look that great now. But maybe tonight we will have some desert?

This is the place to get steak tips. Every year we stop and get a order. They sure do a business. there.

I heard over the speakers that there is a rodeo tonight at 7:30pm. You can see it is filling up. Maybe this next week we will make it out here to see one.

Well, time for me to get home. I am tried and just want to watch a little TV and relax with my baby.
Over all this night was a lot of fun. Just knowing I had a part of helping out was worth the trip. Prayerfully this next week we can help out again?
Well folks today is Monday and the week is upon us.
Today their a couple of guys coming out the work on our well. For a the last three or four months we have not used the well to water the grass. Every time it is on, the water is not sprinkling like it should.
When it first starts up, great, but after a few minutes it's squirt is not there. So Jeanne has a student in her class that, his dad owns a irrigation company in Fort Pierce here. He told me he would be here early this morning. It is 7:59 am no show, YET.
Oh well I can do some more work around here today and see what happens.
Prayerfully you ALL had a wonderful week-end and had a chance to spend some time with Our Lord?
I know yesterday morning we watched Pastor Craig on line. He was talking about these days, how uncertain our times are during this last year and all that is going on in The Ukraine.
Please keep this all this in your prayers. TIMES NOT GOING TO GET BETTER FOR A WHILE.

Mr. Roy and I have a nice job to do, making up shutters.

Okay last week, Pat and Dick, Roy's neighbors asked if we could do something with used medal shutters? Maybe? So Pat told us that a guy in the ark was selling his old shutters. So Roy and I went over there to see what he has? Well, we only need 12 pieces. But the guy told Pat, we have to take all of them or no deal? Okay we loaded the up in my truck and brought them back to their house. Took out the ones I know we could use. Took the rest of the them to The Crossing Thrift Store. Which they were happen to receive.
I left to go home that day and stopped at Home depot for the supplies we need to make it happen.
So the next morning, we got started and put up the top board to hold the top in place. Put in the anchors. Then put up the shutter and let it hang there. Marked the length we needed to keep it inside the window frame.  Then cut the bottom off of the shutter. Then put the bottom board. Put in the anchors and looking good.

You can see how much we needed to cut the shutter off. But in the end it looked great. All of them fitted and I thought I took a picture of the finished project. But I must have not waited long enough, it was a picture of the ground. Oh well.

Now you can see the boards on the top and bottom. Have all the anchors in and ready for the next season (HIURRICANE SEASON)
Pat and Dick loved it and thank us for doing such a good job.
I know Roy and I thought it came out nice too. It sure was a hot day. During out time working there, I asked Dick if I could use one of his hats. Sure can. So I put on some sun screen and the hat and all went well.
I know I have not been blogging all the time. The reason is early in the morning during the week, I am always going in to helping  my baby with the kitchen setup and cleaning or what ever she needs. We get up and leave around 6am each week day. So time is not always on my side.
Plus when I am not doing work projects, I am Door Dashing as much as I can.
This last week I made $199.32.  I  was on the clock for 14hours and 44 minutes.
Active time was 10 hours and 19 minutes. I had 29 deliveries.
Door Dash paid me $92.25, Customer tips $107. 07
Now I drove many miles too.
It really does help me get funds into my account. Like I have said before the work projects have been on the slow side and this really does help me out.
Like today, I started at 10:09 am and worked all the way to 5:09 pm. During that time I was talking with the Lord about helping me get ahead. So about 2pm I started talking with Him, IF I GET $100.00 BY 5pm. I will not Door Dash tomorrow. So my last delivery at 4:45pm made $10.05. Which brought it over $100. 07
Okay Lord a deal is a deal. I will take off and relax a little. I do need to wash our cars and clean them up. That should be OK? Maybe?
Oh plus we need to go to church tomorrow too.
Folks live is getting shorter each day we are on this earth. Please take time to talk with Him and just enjoy your time. He is listening and willing to help you in any way possible.
HE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH.

On Saturday, it was a long morning, day and evening. Brisket Time.

Jeanne set this up on Friday evening, before we went to bed. This is called the chain fire. Or something like that. If you look, there is no charcoal in the centre of the grill. it is running along the outside. This way the fire stays the same temp during the smoking of the meat.

We got up on Saturday morning at 4:30am. Need to get the fire started and smoke some brisket.
The hard part was, during the afternoon, the rains kept coming. So the fire didn't go out, but got cooled off. We even started up the small grill too. That was for the ribs.
But at the end, around 3:30pm. The brisket was up to temp. 170. Then we had to take it off and wrap it in foil and put it back on. Now the temp in the brisket needs to get up to 205 degrees. Which at around 4pm it hit the mark. Great calling honey. You asked everyone to come around 4 pm.
Okay now had to take off the brisket of the fire and put it in a colder. There it is going to rest. Folks all showed up and the party was on it way.

We had Corn bread pudding, Pat (Roy's wife and Jeanne made that. The beans came from Ken's wife, Marissa. The coleslaw, came from Towanda, Julian's wife. They bought it at Moonswiners.
The biscuits, Pat and Jeanne made. I guess we have everything on the table and let us pray and get some good food.

Okay who is who? Green top, Anne,(teacher) then to the left, Marlssa, Ken (teachers) (blue shirt) her hubby, Cooper their daughter, Pat and Roy (friends and coworker) . Then Towanda, (Julian's wife)

On the right hand side, Jeanne my little girl, (blue top)  then Julian, (teacher) (black and gold jacket)
Has the evening was winding down. Jeanne asked me to start a fire in the pit. which I did. It really started up pretty easy. It was getting a little chilly out there. The fire was a nice touch. I think half of the folks came around it and sat there and just to get a little warmer plus, had a good time.
Oh there was chocolate cake, Anne brought for us too. That didn't come our until after dinner was some what ,finishing up.

You can see pretty much, everyone is putting on a jacket of some kind.
Ken, he was being a good boy, just keeping everyone smiling and laughing the whole evening. He really is funny and entertaining.
At the end we all said our good byes and thanked everyone for coming. Pat and Roy stayed a little longer, just showing them our house and all that is going on in it. Plus we talked about, maybe going to the county fair this next week or so?
It really was nice of everyone to come and just hang with us a while.
You can see I need to put up more lights. We have, street lights, that Jeanne had in her shop, a while back. So that might be my next project?
It is funny but I think I will always have something more to do in or out of our home? I am just so blessed to call this our home and just knowing Our Lord is the One that provides for us. So He is definitely is in charge, too.

Folks it has been one year since we got married, February 20th.

This picture was taken after our wedding happened. By our good friend Julian.

Well about two or three weeks ago, Jeanne, Chris and I went out to this place called Fanyini's Apizza/ While here we had two nice pizza pies. Had a good time. They were advertising for this night,
Sunday Gravy With Sinatra. Wow sounds like a nice evening with my baby. Plus it will be on our
1st Anniversary. Okay lets sign up and have some fun.

Well we got here and were seated at OUR Table. The reason I say this is, we had to give them our credit card to reserve it. As the people were coming in I needed to use the restroom.

These two micros or pictures were in the men's bathroom. I really thought they were kind a neat. Bringing you back into time.

As I was walking back to our table, I just looked around and saw a lot of folks enjoying their time.

This is Carlos, Frank Sinatra, our singer for the evening. He really did a nice job. He did sound like Frank. As we sat next to him, as he sang. It brought back many memories of listening to him (Frank) on the radio or my dad's record player.
I did record one of this songs, but it is to long to e mail to myself.

The meal was very nicely done. We enjoyed it and the entertainment too.

I was trying to get our kiss in this picture, I kind a like this better.
I know at the end it was just a meal, but it was with my little girl that is part of my life now and I love her very much. I look forward in many more years of our love and just being together.
Happy Anniversary Jeanne my love.

I am thinking this happen a couple of weeks ago?

Okay a new place to get ribs and brisket. Jeanne has been going to therapy for a while now, for her hip and shoulder. After she had surgery on them. So while she was sitting there, she was talking to a guy name Josh, is he the main over seer there. Well they were talking about brisket and ribs. If you have looked back in my blog, my baby girl LOVES BRISKET AND RIBS. So Josh told her about this place on US 1 in Fort Pierce. THE BIG WORM, BBQ. We have driven by here many times, but never stopped. So this time we did, stopped.

I think we got brisket, ribs and something else, oh pull pork. Took it home and had a real nice dinner that night. I am setting you up for my next blog. Today we got up at 4:30am and started up a fire and today we are cooking brisket and ribs, here at our home.
I will be sharing more in the next few days.
Well folks the week-end is here and what do you have planned out? We invited a few friends over for dinner tonight and just hanging out.
Oh this morning I booked us for a flight up to Baltimore, Maryland. Going to to visit my old friend Don and his family next month. Flying out and hanging with them for a few days. We have a couple of work projects and prayerfully we can get them finished and just enjoy our tie up there.

I really am looking forward in seeing Don, he was the one I flew up to Baltimore to help during the summer time. Not sure when, but I wrote about it after I got back home.
Prayerfully you all have a safe and great week-end. He (Jesus) is right next to YOU, Thank Him, this week-end too.

We have been getting visitors during the night.

This has happen a couple of times. Thinking the first time, maybe someone came out in the screen room and hit the bag of cat food, by mistake? Well it happen on Thursday night again???
Okay we must have a hole in the screen somewhere???  OR maybe someone is just coming in to mess with me???

YES WE DO!!! Wow these guys really are forward? Plus must have a great nose? Think about it, how would he or she know there is food in here. Plus he or she is very bold. They just stuck their paws in and grab a screen and rip.
Now what do I do? If I cover up the hole, they might make another hole to get in?

I moved the cat food to the laundry room. Then put this iron trellis up to TRY to keep them out.
So far so good, it is Sunday morning and we have not had any visitors since.

WOW he or she came back and pulled on this vacuum hose plus?
BUT NO ONE GOT IN.

Okay what are you plans for the Super Bowl? Well I am working, yes I have a account with DOORDASH. I started four days ago, really enjoying it so far. Okay so I am on call from 5 pm to 9:30pm tonight.
Then tomorrow I am on call from 11am to 11:30pm. Yes I know it is Valentine Day. Jeanne and I are going out today for a nice lunch and that will be our time.

So far for 15 hours of standing around waiting to get a dash call. I really only worked 9 hours and 28 minutes. I got paid $137.00. Hey I can make my own schedule and still do the home repairs on my time. So like I said, it is my schedule.
You can look at this two ways. For 15 hours I got paid $9.33 OR for 9 hours I got paid $15.22.
Hey I am still making some money, RIGHT??
Plus I enjoy the rushing around. Keeps me young.
I really hope and pray that today you are blessed and highly favored. He is waiting on you to call HIM?

I had a opportunity to help out my cousin.

It has been a while since I have trimmed and cleaned out her gutters too.  Oh, the reason I am here now is because Jeanne and her sisters pl...
