This is their front door. It really needed a lot of work. First of all, sanding it a couple of times. To make sure that it will look good afterwards. Roy filled the cracks with wood filler. Then sanded it again. Looks great.
Now this is the next door we are going to replace.
Pulled it out and the frame lumber around the door frame still in good shape.
Now this door was a medal one. You can see how much water damage there is.
Roy wanted to go back and see if the wood putting is dried?
Well, we sanded it again. Plan on painting it after we get the new door in.
Go the door in and framed it out. I think it looks great. But I am not the customer. Butch and his wife Connie loved it.
Well the rain came and we needed to move the front door into the Butch's shop. Plus, we felt like we are done for our first day.
Thursday morning, I had a doctor's appointment at 8am. So, I didn't pick Roy up until after 9am. So we are started out a later then we wanted to. Roy started painting and I needed to go to Home Depot and buy some 1"x4"x 8' for our next project.
There was a bifold doors on here before. Connie wanted a single fold door. So We got the old one out and put up the 1"x 4" on the sides to fill it in. Plus put a header up there too. The opening was a 2" wider and 2 1/2" shorter than the opening. So had to built it up.
Afterwards everyone loved it.
Now our next door to replace. We took this out, boy was it heavy. After we got the frame, and everything else out and ready for the new door. Roy was looking at the old door. Found out it was oak and someone many years ago, put some 1/4" plywood over the top of it. We really didn't need to replace this door. Just ripped the old plywood off. Then cleaned it up. It would have been okay afterwards. But once we got the old frame and things out. No turning back.
Got everything ready. Then got the new door in and really to leave. It was raining out and the front door will be finished up today. Prayerfully. I will share more tomorrow or this weekend.
I pray you all have a wonderful day and prayerfully we can get everything done today.
I have not heard anything more about Faye. Please keep her and Bob in prayer.
