It is time to do some work.

A couple of weeks ago. I got a call form Dan. He would like to know how much a water heater would cost to install? I gave him a price and he was okay with it. So I told him if he needs me to go pick it up. I would love to. (at a cost $30.00) So we went to Lowes and Dan already had one picked out. It was on clearance for $175.00. He save $200.00 on this. My only worry was, will it fit into the area it belongs in?
The opening is 22 1/2" This unit is 22"

Okay before we could take the old one out. We needed to turn his water off at the main valve. Well as Roy and I looked around under the house. We could not find the main valve. So I went down to the office here and asked John, (property manger) if he could dig up the main valve out near the road? He told us it would be after the 4th on Thursday. Okay, I guess we really don't have any choice in the matter. So Roy and I got to Dan's house early in the morning of Thursday and saw that had the water was off. Great. So as I started looking and digging down a little to put a new main valve under the house. Guess what??? I found the valve. It was buried. under the dirt. Okay that saves Roy and I a couple of hours of work. I told Dan and he was pleasantly surprised. The reason was I told him it would cost him $50.00 to put in a valve under the house.
So while I was gone on vacation he was turning the water off at the water heater each day after using it.

It is funny to see how people love to watch us work. They come out and look and say, looking good. Then go back inside. That is what Dan did most of the time. But after we got the old one out. I thought good picture time.

I did have picture of before. But I guess I deleted it to soon. The floor where the heater sits was all rotten out. So we just cut a piece of 3/4 plywood and sit it right on top. That way it will be strong enough to hold that tank up, plus.

Well you can see we got the tank and and all hooked up. Now let us turn the main water valve back on and see what happens. It works and no leaks.

Now we need to go inside and fix a broken 1/2 water line under the sink.

It is kinda of hard to get to the pipe that leaks. It is cold water line for the dish washer. Well I guess Dan tried to turn the water off there and it caused a some leakage. So his friend Al came over and they tried to stop the leak with that spray paint that seals leaks. Well all it did was made a big mess and guess I need to have to clean it up. Which I did and put in new pipe and valve. It looked good. But I kept thinking, it is still leaking. The guy from Home Depot come out and put the dish washer in. Will not be able to do it. That is why Dan noticed it leaking before. So the next couple of days go by and Dan it not home. So this last week I drove over and checked it and it has a very small leak. Drip then a minute later another drip. So I tighten the nut on the valve and it seams to be good now.
Over all we did make some money on this job.
Praise Him for all the opportunity to help others and even make a couple of bucks too.
